I'm just wondering, I have A-Spec and B-Spec 40 and want more out of the game. I do not however, want to end up, IMO, cheating with hybrid cars. I think it is cheap to have a car, where all it does is act as a X1 2.0. I haven't seen one in any lobbies of mine or any I have been in, but I do know I'd easily kick anyone to comes into a lobby, I still think it is cheating.
 
If it’s a free run lobby, I don’t mind them if anything I find them entertaining. But if it’s a racing lobby then the cars and drivers should get the boot 👍
 
I guess it could be solved by using a HP cap, but we all know about the inability of most X1 drivers to drive properly. I think that this could be seriously worse with the hybrid cars with minimal downforce and much worse handling. Even in my "free run" lobbies, I'd get mad because all they'd try to do it drag race them then end up ramming people off the track because they cannot be easy to turn.
 
Depends on the lobby. If people don't have an issue with it, then I don't see a reason why it's a bother.

But, in a racing lobby, unless allowed... then they shouldn't be allowed.

(For note, I have the Civic myself.)
 
Have to say im not sure if I like the idea of 'hybrid cars' in GT5 or not.

Haven't tried any of them either. Probably never will.

One thing people forget is the PP.


For example.

A few of my friends are using the red bull (the 100k HP one) to do the seasonal events. With the PP adjusted winnings for having a car lower PP than said event. Then the red bull has I think he said negative 30k PP you make 30 minutes plus in one 4 minute event.

So the only way to regulate them is by power limit. Even with the power regulation it is still difficult.

However I am guilty of trying one. Which was the little go kart last night. It has 377HP. I had lowered it all the way down to 50% which made it 188HP. Only reason I wanted to try it keep in mind (which is besides the point) to try to drift it in the rain at Suzuka circuit. It was pretty fun. But after that I deleted the thing.

Oh sorry yes negative 3k PP sorry typed it wrong. But just being totally honest about everything I noticed while trying that kart
 
Hybrids vs not hybrids in a race equals cheating
Cruise.(if you can)..or just for fun lobby..fine by me
I like to think the use of these cars can be fun if the person uses it in a fashion that doesn't cause others to react in a negative manner.. But getting rammed by some fool in an uncontrolled car is never fun..
 
What if a SpecV had 954HP went up against a Black Edition which also had 954HP, and the SpecV won. Would that be cheating or something else?

Depends.

Because if he used say the GTR that is out there and just simply lowered the HP. Well there is most definitely a lot more torque. So yes that is cheating if you are talking about using the hacked car and just moving the power limiter.
 
Oh, it's absolutely cheating. But as far as whether it matters or not...


I'd really like that X1 with so I could money farm seasonals, or the Civic so I could screw around with the AI. That's cheating, but I don't really care because that's single player. I don't want to use either of those online, because... sheesh. That's just rude.
 
If it is something that you can't do with a standard GT5 V2.11, it's cheating and a violation of what Sony allows.

With that said, if you keep the Hybrids offline, more power to you. However, if you bring them online, I hope you get penalized.
 
I don't really know where to put myself, I would like to at least borrow (Or perma borrow) one and use it to farm credits and xp, but for online use, just to have a fun time with another guys with modded cars, aside from that, nothing
 
I will not answer in the POLL and I will give a few reasons why and my opinions on the subject?

Cheating is a defination thats used broadly for anyone who considers themselves gaining something that is not thru the normal channels.
So do I agree or not. NOT sure on these hybrids? Fun am all for it. They are.:D

But people keep going on about lobbys restricting PP and HP and what ever. Sorry but that may not work.

These cars are a lot of fun I have driven a lot of them and even some which are not out there yet. But great fun and used in that purpose they are a real good laugh.:lol:
But when ever things like these come out they will always be cheats, Thats the way of the world.

Now lets say one of these turns up in a time trial, Oh yes PD will see it straight away and do something about, But until then PD relies on gathering information thru Logs and thru the media before they can fix things within GT5. (Plus other means?)

So now that I have given you something a little different to think about in the way of " Is this cheating" might make your minds think a little deeper than the FUN factor these cars were intended for.

My point is in the way of cheating, If this can be done has in the video shown, Then whats to say it hasn,t already been done in time trials and is still being to this day?

And have every car within the game within a short period of time? Whats the point of the game. Just ask PD to release a full version with everything already in it so no point trying to win this that and other?

When the game came out it was designed to have longevity to it. Now it can all be achevied fairly quickly by what the OP says with this new hybriding and hacking of the game save.

Thats my opinion on the matter. Hybrid cars, good fun but cheating is just round the corner for everyone now.

For what "cheating" are we talking about?...
 
Cheating A-spec in-game and cheating in the TT's are two different subjects (IMO). I would think most players do things while playing the AI, that they don't or can't while running TT's.

I believe that the guy who will doing this, he is cheating himself. He will never enjoy the game. This will not harm anyone else...

Oh yeah I agree mate totally, But what happens if it does effect others by example if a seasonal comes up where they can mod a car just a little bit and take it in there? (Maybe just a little extra Hp or dropping the PP?)

Might of already been done.:lol: But am sure people are going to try.:D
Yes they are cheating themselves but could cheat others of top spots.
Might even of been going on in the Academys when they came out? Doubtful but could of easily been done.

Plus its like yourself being a collector all that time spent finding the cars when someone can come along and buy all the UCD cars (Licence trick?) and then mess with the save and write all them to 0/0/0.

So many ways to cheat now with the saves being cracked open.
Don,t get me wrong I love these hybrids (Great fun.:D) and have had alot of fun in them but is it fair that anyone who gets the game then finished in a matter of minutes when most legit people took months getting there?

Sorry Toronado don,t fully understand what you mean.

All am saying is cheaters are going to cheat.
The hybrids out there are fun, But people will take the fun and use and exploit it into cheating.
Just like any game thats been modded. Thats why I posted the video of a fine example of cheating. Still an hybrid no matter which way you look at it?

Anothe way to say what I mean is imagine if GT6 came out tomorrow and you went to shops and got the game home and it was complete then whats the point of the game.
Same objective if you came home and some one put a car up for share that allowed you to complete it in a matter of minutes once again whats the point of the game.
The objective of the game is to try and complete it on your own merits, Not by using the hybrid cars like in the video shown is cheating.
Whether it effects you or anyone else is irrelevent.
Plus its in what context the hybrid cars can be used.
People are saying yeah good fun but not to gain an advantage but like I say people cheat, Whether its online with others or time trials or anywhere in the game it will happen?

I agree wholeheartedly and it's what I've been saying since I first found out about the hybrids. The genie is out of the bottle and you can't put it back in. When the Civic first came out everyone said, "Oh it's just one car, if you see it in a room just boot the guy and limit PP to keep it out to begin with...what's your problem" Now it's a whole list of cars and now the X1 has negative PP and is immune to PP limitations. Once this animal rears it's ugly head it's unstoppable.

So many of you can't see it but Christara is on the money. The integrity of the entire game is in question now. Imagine if this hack had come out on day 1 how different the response would be. The game would have been done in a matter of months, outside of private lobbies, without a patch. The fact that it's happening now, 2 years down the road is irrelevant in my opinion. It needs to be fixed, period, for the integrity of the series and continuation of the GT series.
 
To me its not cheating. I have 18 different hybrid cars, I only race them on route x against other hybrid cars. Put a power and PP restriction or even put tire/fuel consumption and call it a day. The only way I would say I was "cheating" would be using the x10 in seasonals and making a ton of credits, I've been level 40/40 for over a year and a half now so that doesn't really matter to me. Limit hp and pp and you are good.
