Any possibility that you can post some scans?

I scanned a few pictures from this article for everyone to see.

I wonder if the Monaro they used was an actual Holden, or if it was the Opel/Vauxhall version...

i think he meant the "black" VW W12 nardo-a record braking cra raced on the italian track Nardo at a 24H race!....yeah it´s a very cool car and i really don´t understand WHY VW WON´T PRODUCE THIS SUPERCAR!!!....in GTC u could drive it in the color "orange"...

who would win?
--->VW W12 Nardo: 600hp, 1400kg, very streamline-design!!
--->Ford GT: 550hp, 1500kg, also very good design but cuz the GT´s short it´s not that "streamline"
...i think the GT would do though it has more weight!!!

Yeah, I was referring to the black W12. :) Middle pic on that tall image. I think I overlooked it on the Master Car List because I didn't know what it was. Looks rather sweet, though.. methinks I'll have to add that one to my garage. :)

W12......*splooge*

that's my favorite supercar evar.

yeah it´s really a nice car!!!...but unfortunately not a "real" car jsut a concept!!:<
...do u think the video from estoril will be put together with GT4-graphics so that the viewer can see and realize that there´s isn´t(much)difference between "REALITY" AND "GAME-GRAPHIC"????...it would be cool just imagine first "rush"!!!...a GT doing a very fast lap at the track than Gt4 graphic and then again "real graphic"....Y-E-A-H

Estoril is a very cool track, believe me. It would be great if we'd get it in GT4.

I still can't believe this whole thing went by here unnoticed... :\

If that model T is in the game... thats goanna be so cool! lol XD

It is confirmed in the game.

I wonder why (in the first scan), there is a pic of a driver backed by a green screen. The Model T is also backed by a green screen. What could all thiss mean???????

heh.. you every try to rotoscope footage without it? The greenscreen is used just like it is in the movies.. to pull a key around the car, letting you drop it into whatever backdrop you like. Most likely for some visual effects seen in the commercial. Real car driving down real track. Real track vanishes to be replaced by in-game track (courtesy of the greenscreen). Then real car vanishes to be replaced by in-game car. Piece of cake. IF you've got the greenscreen. Without it, an hour's work turns into weeks.

I know what a green screen is and how it works.

I was wondering why would they use a green screen instead of doing the real thing? It doesn't sound like something PD would do. Why wouldn't they just film a driver actually driving the car? If they graph game footage and real life footage together, that will suck. I don't that could ever turn out very good.

I dont see the green screen for the Model T pic, only a Lighting reflector.

i'm sure PD know what they are doing and did it for a reason...i'm sure that Model T prolly doesnt even run lol...but the thing does look awfully cool...cant wait to drift it ;) ...hmmm i wonder if those wooden spokes would hold up to such stresses!

It depends on what they're trying to do, and how the commercial will play out. Since this is the most realistic-looking game so far, they'll probably be pushing that. The idea I presented earlier would be a good way to show the realism aspect and require the use of greenscreens, by having parts of it change while we watch the commercial. I didn't mean having a real car driving on a fake track, per se. It would all happen very quickly, where the real track would change to an in-game track piece by piece. Car, driver, track, in whatever order they end up doing it. All in the space of about two seconds, so there's not really an issue with trying to do a realistic composite for any length of time. If it's done quickly, there's no issues.. "faults" in compositing typically only happen when the audience is given time to analyze the effect. If it's over in a second or two, there's no time for analysis, and it goes off without a hitch.

Fact is, we don't know what PD is planning for the commercial. As a visual effects artist, the scenario I mention is the most likely possibility based on how they're filming it. Whether I'm right or not will just have to wait until the commercial is released. And if I'm wrong, it'll probably be something even cooler, that I never thought of.. hehe.

I think the plot is the driver of the GT comes into the pits then decides to try another car the GT 'explodes around him (special effects much cheaper ;) ) then reforms arond him again into another car and so on. Whether this ad is for just Europe or the whole world I dont know.
The guys from this mag seem to have quite close links with Polyphony there story on the scanning of the cars for the game was one of the first to provide speculative car lists. One of the writers has a drift car with massive GT4 decals all over it. Some guys get all the breaks. :grumpy:

The picture looked more like a HSV GTO, but who cares! This could mean Holden is in!:D

Yes that is a HSV (ethier GTO or GTS).
