Keeping you all going for another week... :D

Last week it was "new" car, old track. This week it's new track, old (ish) car.

GTP Unofficial WRS Warmup Race #2 - Making Tracks

The test: Arcade Mode, Time Trial (fastest single lap)

The track: Real/World Circuits: Sears Point - Infineon Raceway Sports Car Course

The car: Toyota SuperAutoBacs MR-S JGTC

Tyres: Race Tyres (R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 - and any combination thereof).

As far as I'm aware (NTSC/Japanese version) you cannot enter garage cars in Arcade Mode time trials, but just in case... THE ARCADE MODE CAR ONLY.

To that end:
Arcade Mode Power Setting: 0%
Arcade Mode Weight Setting: 0%
Top Speed setting MAY be adjusted.
TCS and ASM are optional, but I'll call you a big girl if you use them.

Your deadline is Tuesday, March 22nd 2005 at 00.01GMT - PM it to me (that's "Famine"), so as not to bother the people who run the ACTUAL WRS... ). Include your controller type and current WRS Division please.

Feel free to discuss any T times, but keep your final lap time to yourself.

I just went to give this a first run but it looks like only Racing tires can be applied in arcade mode. I think I would prefer racing tires to sports tires.

like the car and the track but i hit my limit in within 10 laps, im gonna try to trim more off time but here are my Ts so far

T1-19.399
T2-59.436

Sure why not.

T1: 19.308
T2: 58.702

Still time to come off in T1. Not sure about T2.

I'm a division 2 WRS'er, but I've been Missing In Action as of late. GT4 action that is. First they ran a weekly i didnt have the car for, then Kent went missing, and well, I'm at 25% so far.

[EDIT]

Oh yeah. Famine, how about the gear ratios? Can we adjust them?

After 16 laps I was able to get under a minute.

R4 Tires
T1 19:921
T2 59:971

Having a lot of fun with this one, good picks.

yes high props to famine excellent combo i will be breaking my limits tomorrow(later this morning, sleep first :) ) i want a 58 T2

New track. Great car. 👍

After just 3 minor on-line-races, I've found out, that the improved track knowledge, I get from these events, adds tremendously to the fun factor in the game itself. I'm definitely in. :D

Yes, sorry about that. I C&Ved from the other thread. I nearly made a quite impossible deadline, but didn't spot that.

Anything you CAN adjust you MAY adjust. Except the power and the weight... :D

Oh yeah a fun JGTC 300 car and a track with some elevation changes, a fun combo.
T1 : 19.385 with a T2 : 59.670 with room for improvement

Hmmmm might try this one.

Famine, Is that Bill Bailey? It Is isnt it.

I havent gotten my head round this course yet, so i need the practice.
Thanx for the combo.
👎 :grumpy: 👍

Hope to give this one a bash, been too busy with getting started with GT4 (obviously), but I need to get some good practice on Infineon Raceway anyway, so hopefully will submit a time... cheers for keeping it going while Kent is indisposed 👍

vexd - Indeed it is.

Touring Mars - Is that insulin in your avatar?

It's a protein called HemN (Coproporphyrinogen III Oxidase)... I'm going to be working on it from April 1st... I should really be spending my evenings studying that rather than studying the new circuits in GT4, but with any luck I can do both! :)

I'll try to get some laps in on this one. I adore the track but don't think much of the car. Though I will admit a little MR car on this track is a good combo.

This is probably my favorite new track in the game, and even makes a case for my most favorite of any of the tracks. I just love the elevation changes 👍.

After 10 laps or so:
T1: 19.0 (At least .3-.4 can easiily come off that, I muffed the first corner)
T2: 57.7 (Possible high 56's)

Edit: Gave it another run after an hour or so and pulled a T2 of 57.4, all found at T1 :sly:.

I've updated the leaderboard, finally :)

My apologies for being MIA along with Kent the last couple of weeks. I finally finished a monster 4-month long project at work, so I hope to have a bunch more time for GT again 👍

This race is a blast. There's a few corners that I'm still working on (the hairpin right after T1, and the double-apx right before the esses), but there's some more to come off. I'll post splits in a bit when the wife is done with Sex and the City ;)

EDIT:

18.686
57.441

If you don't know, you don't have one.

Don't let it bother you though. At the moment, divisional statuses are irrelevant.

Boy Famine, you know how to pick 'em (in a masochistic sense). I don't think I'll be running this one. I don't have the tolerance for this annoying little car (of all the JGTC cars this is the last one I'd ever pick), I love the circuit still though.

Ran a T1 of 19.something and a T2 of 57.972 on the 4th lap...but, see below!

You guys had better set a rule about the corner leading onto the back stretch, the one you can run WAY wide (which is the faster line in 3rd), WAY out of the course ("in" the course being within the lines). There is at least a full second (probably more) to be gained there by going off the course, still on pavement, but off the course.....there is also time to be gained by plowing the cones just to the outside of the exit, again out of the course, but on pavement.....

Just an FYI.

See you guys on the Nordschleife....

just ran.....

T1-18.922
T2 -58.700
hopefully more to come....
also, is there any way to just save your best lap replay?

I just saw an 18.9 T1 and blew it all away for a 58.6 T2. Not that it matters, as my T2 to finish was dirty anyway. And yet, my fastest lap so far.

The T1 to T2's you guys are getting are blowing me away.

The fastest line through that corner into the back streach I've found is to do it in third, just missing both apexes, but I'm not crossing the yellow line to the left (at the midpoint of the turn). I've tried a very wide line but it just seems be slower for me.

Haven't tried hitting the cones

thank you corps i did it on last weeks race but for the life of me couldnt figure out how to do it this week musta been a fluke.

NP dude.

Finallly fixed the DFP Full throttle issue and it only took me 5 minutes, I thought it would take a lot longer.

So after a few laps I managed to get my times down. I know I'm losing time in the second esses and at the corner leading to the backstretch, I'm taking a tight line in second, but I've tried going wide and it is a bit faster, just not on this run. I also just realized you can go full throttle through that entire back stretch if you take a good line.

T1 19:277
T2 58:499

Luxy, are you considering adding another column to the WRS Leaderboard and display what controllers people are using, now it's GT4 it'd be interesting to see what DS2'ers, DFP'ers and DF'ers are doing...
