Anyway, for future references, are you playing the NTSC version of the game, icemanshooter23? And if so, do you have a way of posting your replays?

The Wizard.

I'm using the NA NTSC version of the game and I'm at about 35%. As far as the replay thing goes, I'll be happy to post my replay in Max Drive fromat 👍.

im as fast as im gonna get, hit my limit on my first 7 laps, and pushed myelf farther, cant get any faster. Im happy though im doing div. 2 times while im a div. 3 driver :)

i'm having real trouble with the number two uphill turn.. i keep losing time.. not too sure how to take it..
keep running really wide.. sometimes i run off the track..
any tips from the pro's??

Just looked over the replay of my lap and it looks as if I have 3 wheels off at one point exiting one of the hairpins :indiff:. I'll still put the replay up for anyone who wants to see a fast DS2 lap, but I won't be submitting it for the race.

That's a shame, icemanshooter23 :indiff:
I know how much time and effort it takes to make a good lap in general, much more in this track - since it is particularly tricky and there are a lot of spots that can kill your lap (timewise and cleanwise).

I would still like to see your replay, though.
I don't know if I am going to run anymore laps, or submit before deadline, as it seems I have reached my limit, but still I would ask you to please wait and post it after the Result thread has been up.

I don't want to cheat in any possible way.

The Wizard.

I'll be sure to post it for you 👍. I tried again to get a clean lap close to that time and noe have a time about .2 away, but it probably wont be a winner. I did see a 18.3, 56.6 that i blew in the last corner. Needless to say I was pretty angry over that one.

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I just can't figure this one out. Ran for another couple of hours this morning, and the best T2 I could manage was a 57.3, a less than 0.100 improvement :grumpy: Best clean T1 I've seen so far is a 18.618.

Tried watching a couple of the licence demos on this track, but those didn't help much.

You guys in the 56's are humbling me right now. I can't wait to watch some replays to see exactly where and how much I suck ;)

For what it matters, I am experiencing the same exact situation.

It seems, no matter how long I run this race/how many laps I do, I can't get below 0'57.3xx at T2, the best one I have seen so far. The secret (in my opinion) must hide itself in the right turn following T1 and in the wide left turn before the straight that leads to the 'double apexed' right 180.

I was behind my current best ghost at T1 (by at least a car lenght) and then I managed to take that right turn in a different way (which I cannot reproduce, no matter how hard I try) and I was ahead of him, by the end of the turn.

I might try some more, but I think I have reached my limit a long time ago.
Either that or I am very, very close to it - but, even if I only managed to improve my lap time by just 0.100, that would make it all worth it :D

The Wizard.

Clearly a case, where the old analyser would be of great help.

I loved having the ability to load a good split time and see which sector(s) is giving the improvement.

I ran a couple of sessions yesterday. Eventually got it down to 56.926, (no 8), but it's time I got on with playing the game (only @ 5.7%).

Did one more run and got within .1 of my old time. I'll give it one more shot, but I'm probably done.

It's a momentum track, much like Trial Mountain. If you don't nail the T1 section and the turn right after, you're lap time is going to suffer big time.

You missed my time for the leaderboard on about page 2 Luxy. :(
I'm in the middle of moving still, so that might be my only session I get. :grumpy:

Previous best lap:

T1: 0'18.586
T2: 0'57.447
Finish: *'**.***

Current best lap:

T1: 0'18.818
T2: 0'57.409
Finish: *'**.*** - 0'00.400 :scared:

Am I missing something here?

Not even looking at the T1's (one of which is almost 0.300 seconds slower than the other)...

Not even looking at the T2's (which are almost identical, after being ~0.300 seconds slower at T1)... <-- This alone is puzzling enough :boggled:

But what puzzles me the most is: How in the world did I manage to gain 0.400 (exact number) seconds in the section T2-Finish??

Based on those assumptions, there are at least 0.200-0.300 seconds for me to be found in this track... Now it's just a matter of finding them.

The Wizard.

hey guys, I wanted to give a shot at this since it seemed fun. after about an hour, I belive I have peaked(I might be able to be faster if I didn't get frustrated easily). anyway here are my times(everything stock, R5 tires, and 240kp/h top speed).

T1: 0.18.784
T2:0.57.686
Final: x.xx.xxx??? :sly:

I know where I am losing speed, but I just can't get it just right. with more perserverance I would be able to lower the time.

rock.

p.s., on a completely unrelated note, did anybody catch the roast of Jeff Foxworthy? who the **** played George Bush? that guy was awesome(people say I'm not the brightest bulb in the knife drawer/the tree don't fall far from the nuts/Donald Rumpelstilskins) LOL!!!! I thought that was actually George Bush Jr. when I first glanced at the TV screen. I realized it was an actor after about 5-7 seconds. that guy was great.

16 hours to deadline - 9 submissions received...!

Make that 10. :D

Time submitted. No further improvements. Great race. Great combo. 👍

Sorry about that tuff, you're up there now :)

TheWizard also mentioned that the hairpin after T1 seems to be critical. In my sessions, I've been focusing on the two corners after that. I won't get another chance to run this before the deadline, but have you got any suggestions on how to take that hairpin?

About the right turn immediately after T1, I take it in 3rd gear, and when I get the barking point where I am supposed to, I manage to hug the inside rumble strip perfectly and take the turn fast enough that I barely touch the rumble strip on the left side of the turn, at the exit.

For the wide left turn, I used to take it in 4th gear, at an entry velocity somewhere in the 85-90 MPH interval (can't remember the exact figures) and exit it at around 100-105 MPH (again, bare with me), and then shift back to 5th gear again.

But then I discovered that taking it in 5th gear is way faster, as I was pulling noticeably away from my previous ghost.

Taking that turn in 5th gear (and doing the following, double-apexed right turn in a pretty good mannner, I am sure this had a play in it, too) was what allowed me to get a T2 of 57.409 after a T1 of 18.818 (while my previous best was 57.447 with a T1 of 18.586).

This is all I have to suggest, as I haven't completely figured the whole track out myself.

I will give it one last go before deadline, and then I will submit (have to ;)), improvement or not.

EDIT: Well, doesn't this blow?! I have just figured out that the Lap Time is due at 6:01 PM Central Time (rather than 00:00 AM Central Time, like it is, usually), so I am going to have to submit right now, as I will be in College for the rest of the day, until late tonight (past 6 PM for sure) :indiff:
No more runs for me...

Now it's just over 10 hours to deadline, with 12 submissions received....

Famine, do you think you should make the next race an official WRS race? Kent has been away for a long time. I can almost bet that he wouldn't mind whatsoever.

Yep, I just figured out the times are due before they used to be in GT3 WRS.
Make that 13 submissions, as I have just PMed you.

Not running this week either, Famine?
Or do you have a major kick @ss time you have been keeping secret from us? :D

EDIT: Just saw this:

I agree 100% with everything icemanshooter23 has just stated 👍

The Wizard.

Okay, THIRTEEN submissions :D

I may - or may not - run this week. Again, I've accidentally seen a couple of the early submissions, but I was ahead of them anyway. I've not seen any of the most recent 10 (including CFM and ODP - our perennial pole-sitters).

I have no intent - unless otherwise instructed by staff - to turn this into an official race. As far as I'm concerned, I'm running practice races on as many aspects of GT4 as I can (although I'm limiting exposure to Sim Mode cars on the grounds that if you buy them, the game saves and not everyone is at a point where they can throw cash away) until Kent or another member of staff (boombexus maybe - the originator of the WRS) gets back.

Next week is a rally week, by the way :D

Thought I might have another day to submit. Only ran about 10 laps since the last time i posted my time, but managed to get into about 58:218, I would of hit the 57's but I went extremely wide in that turn before the end of T2. I managed a decent lap time, but I'll submit it when I get home from work.

Great Race!

You are kidding, right?! :scared: :D

I hate rallies... I suck at it!

Well, we will see, maybe this coming race will give me an opportunity to improve my rally skills, and then I might even start to like them ;)

The Wizard.

well i did the best i could however i know it could have been better but eh whatever i guess we just have to wait until the results come out

I'm fairly confident with my T1, but i'm not so sure about my overall time :(

Nick_Johnston28
Famine.. did you get my time?

I certainly got a PM from you. It may contain a time... :D I haven't checked yet.
