GT4 Unofficial WRS Warmup Race #3 - Rally Time!

Okay, this "week" may be truncated, since Kent will be making his way back soon. But, just to keep you all going for another week, I thought I'd throw a practice rally at you...

Since not everyone likes the rally in GT4, and it's said to be less pleasant with a DS2, I'm keeping it simple - a tarmac rally...

GTP Unofficial WRS Warmup Race #3 - Group Bbbbbbugger me!

The test: Arcade Mode, Time Trial (fastest single lap)

The track: Citta di Aria

The car: Any Group B Rally Car (Peugeot T16 Rally Car, Renault 5 Maxi Rally Car, Ford RS200 Rally Car, Lancia Delta S4 Rally Car. Anything I've forgotten. But NOT THE INTEGRALE '92). The Pug T16 at least is open from the start. The others require a maximum of 20 minutes input in GT Mode to acquire and thus unlock in Arcade Mode.

Tyres: Any.

Quick Tune Settings:
Power: 0%
Weight: 0%
Top Speed setting MAY be adjusted.
TCS and ASM are BANNED. Henri Toivanen didn't have them and it didn't do him any harm. No, wait...

Your deadline is Tuesday, March 29th 2005 at 00.01GMT - PM it to me (that's "Famine"), so as not to bother the people who run the ACTUAL WRS... ). Include your controller type and current WRS Division please.

Feel free to discuss any T times, but keep your final lap time to yourself.

I've been driving it a lot after the Alfa Duetto & Spider mission and licence. The reverse track can go suck (think happy thoughts think happy thoughts think happy thoughts think happy thoughts), but the forward track is brilliant.

Until you get a Group B nailing through it.

My first good splits: 33.512 / 1'00.594 ...and SEVERAL truck loads of totaled cars.

I must say I was cussin' you at first Famine, but now I'm rather enjoying the challenge. 👍

Since I don't know what a group B rally car is (I do know what it is but not which cars are in Gt4) could someone post a list of all avaiable cars for this one? I love the circuit but none of the cars Famine listed inspire me...

This track is wicked fun. I have no idea which cars are the old group b cars I guess I'll try the Lancia but I'll have to figure out how to win it or buy it if it's buyable.

...and that. I am quite an illiterate, when it comes to Rallies :indiff:

I started with the Lancia DELTA HF Integrale Rally Car '92 (being Italian, I wanted to try with this one).

Turned out the Ford RS200 Rally Car '85 (my second choice) was 5-6 seconds faster, after only a couple of laps.

If somebody can make a list of the actual vehicles we can use, that would be gladly appreciated 👍

31.524 best T1 with lots of 31.6 - 31.9 T1's
Not a single clean T2 yet though. :irked:

One squirley sucker through T2, even just trying to crawl through there cleanly! :banghead:

I'm still trying to figure out how I spun out in one of those tight spots and ended up facing the wrong direction. The car is longer than the road is wide. :confused:

2.1 seconds faster overall then my previous time, finally something to jump up and down about.

Seen T1's of 31.1xx and such, so in theory there is another .5 in it, but im not sure if i can pull it off.

*Waits for CFM and ODP (or any other Div1 guys) to shatter my precious time.

All but the HF Integrale are eligible.

Group B lived from 1984-1986.

The Peugeot 205 t16 Rally Car is available in Arcade Mode from the outset. The others can be won in Special Condition races. The RS200 Rally Car is possibly the easiest - just 20 minutes floating around Costa di Amalfi Hard (anything 300hp+ should do it fine) will win it - although I think you can get the Renault 5 Maxi for George V Paris Normal.

but if you want any chances of winning the S4 is your pick, bloody insane to drive around this place, the winner of this race will be the one with the most skill. Weight shifting, brake, throttle and steering control, the works. :bowdown:

.8 faster overall from my best clean lap. If i can match that i will be extremely happy.

Can i use the McLaren F1?
Only asked because ive been driving it around on Citta since the early days of Prologue, and it was one of my favourite combinations.... maybe if i adjust the ride height a little?
Fit some dirt tyres?
Would that help?

if you can drive a mclaren F1 and get a cleap lap around this track faster than us in a lancia S4 than good luck to you. :bowdown:

i used the ford rs200 last night and got a series of 32.xxx - 33.xxx's on my T1 and 57.7xx - 58.xxx's on my T2 but i havent tryed the s4 any is it really that much better than the ford rs200?

Good lord, talk about obtuse car/circuit combos. You really know how to pick them Famine, I mean that in a good way. OLR doesn't need anymore Supras @ Midfield, for that matter OLR doesn't ever need anything at Midfield....

I spent about 40 minutes running each car listed around this lovely circuit. I managed a clan T1 32.032/T2 58.008 in one with a damn good T2 to start/finish (my best part of the circuit since Prolouge). The time should be a good mid pack time...

I'm not sure if I'll find the desire to get back to this one and chip away at it, I've got some other OLR hotlaps I'd prefer to do. Though I might, I might.
