No need to transfer your anger from BobbyBrownGT to LoudMusic, his question was a simple one, and the effort it took you to write this quote, could have easily been directed into the phrase "No, I meant his Unauthorized linking to various sites with the intention of using their name recognition to validate his own site, leading to personal gains."

Now that wasn't too hard, now was it?
 
I apologise for not clarifying the obvious. I sometimes forget that of those who can type English not all are capable of understanding it.

Why are you not happy about it, and why do you even care? :confused: I'm not affiliated with that site in any way, they're just linking to GTPlanet on their own (along with every other popular GT site out there, including GranTurismobyNumbers.com).

i got to say that you guys didn't half give wity the cold shoulder treatment and i think it's totally uncalled for considering he was trying to let people who enjoy playing this game and learning new set-ups know that there are some dodgy people about trying to sell our own set-ups ( not even tested by the owner of that franchise i'll bet ) back to us , and i think all in all he was taken totally wrong by you guy's , i also think it is out of order that you got a link to this guys site in your main page unless of course we have stumbled onto something ?? oops ! well you made it look that way anyway :nervous:

main point ! some people will do anything to make a quick £$ and doing so at the expense of the people who spend hours on set ups and put them on the net for free , thats where its at ! that link should be deleted in my opinion as it is not fair for new gamers to come upon the gtplanet site only to be fleeced by that link , when all settings are available with a better link in the right direction FREE SETTINGS :cool: cya's btw i'm not getting banned for this am i ? if so asta-la-vista babies :P

Well ... it's hard to keep track of information like that. Since Jordan is offering the info for free, whoever views it can do whatever they want with it.

Also, I seriously doubt he's the one that put the information together in the first place. And whoever he got it from probably didn't either. I would be willing to bet that most of what is on most gaming websites has been 'stolen' a few times over, and most of them have the same information anyway. They all lie about it, and the people that are viewing the information don't really care anyway. All they want are the cheat codes and strategy guides.

In addition, as Jordan pointed out, all they're doing is providing a link. Anyone can link to anything from their site. If Playboy wants to put a link on their site that goes to Disney, there is nothing Disney can do about it. If they were using parts of Disney's website, and Disney had it copywritten (in 'the books') that would be different.

The Open Source Developers Network (OSDN) and the open source movement (led by Linux) are strong advocates of sharing data and information. As long as credit is given to the originator, who cares who the distributer is?

i take what your saying about the link thing lm , but when you say who cares ? you dont state that you didn't have to reply to the original post , why do you reply ? why do i reply ? = my answer is i am showing that i understand the original intention of the post to warn people of leeches , where as you just reply coz you think you are all knowing and mr mensa has to come across all high and mighty if who cares was your reply ? then why did you post ?? you baffle me sometimes :rolleyes:

Some Yanks make me laugh.

Land of the free, home of free enterprise, capital punishment and free speach.

Yet when it comes to running a gt message board, they make links to scams, edit their members posts, make kids moderators, and let cheats carry on.

lol Bet this stays here no longer than 24 hrs.
 
I don't understand why there's so much animosity against me over this issue. Like I have said, I am not affiliated with this site in any way! I never asked for the link there, I'm not sponsoring that link (either financially or with a link back to gtdatabase.com), I didn't even know it existed. What am I supposed to do about it? Email this guy and tell him what he can and can not put on his own website? I'll give it a try, but there's no guarantee on whether or not he will go along.

Have you contacted the owners of all the other sites mentioned on http://www.gtdatabase.com/html/us/worldlinks.html, too?
 
i have no animosity towards you jordan , i just stated that i agree what the original post was about , selling set ups is wrong and a pathetic way to make money considering the guy got them off forums in the 1st place , that is my opinion thats all ! i have no personal conflicts with any of you guys and that includes mr mensa ;) :D ojk later :)
