Personally I think it makes the game a lot more attractive when there's enough real life tracks. Which tracks would you like to see?

Excellent, I was about to start this thread.

The following are a couple I would like to see...

Bathurst, Australia
Phillip Island, Australia
Pikes Peak, USA

Gingerman Raceway and Gratton raceway from Michigan because I am racing on Gingerman next week the 24th with my 69 Camaro. I have already been on Gratton raceway with one of my other cars. It would just be soo much easier to study the track if it was in GT5. 👍

Imola (both with and without the chicane on Tamburello)
Spa
Brands Hatch
Zandvoort
Monza (current and the old set up complete with the high banked oval)
Watkins Glen (again, old and new configs)
Silverstone (and maybe even use the runways as a drag strip?)

maybe one or two of the new F1 circuits like Bahrain, or Shanghai

point to point rally stages like in reality, basically just time trials with cars launched at one minute intervals....

i think also having obstacle/terrain courses would be fun, jumps, mud pits, ponds to hydro plane accross, hills to climb, etc.....(if they put truck trials in GT5 i will be both shocked and pleased, lol, used to watch those when i lived in luxemburg....crazy stuff seeing ex-military trucks driving across a brige thats nothing more than two tree trunks over a hole folowed by a near vertical drop to drive down ;) its insane...lol)

i think also more of thier 'house' circuits would be nice.....let them get creative on them :P

Hmm, maybe a Japanese mountain pass (or French) and a Tengoku drifting track would be nice...
I'd love to see the tricky Spa course too ^_^
Also, a tricky indutrial rallye-sprint track would do the job.

maxter
Pikes Peak, USA

oh man...i can see it now....final test for the super licence at Pikes Peak in the Escudo....requirement: be within 5 seconds of thecurrent real life record for that car :scared: would be hard as hell, especially if they dont use invisible walls to keep you from plumeting thousands of feet.....

sounds like fun :P where do i sign up? ;)

Assuming we have 16+ cars and damage in GT5, it would be a damn shame if it didn't at least one out of RIR, Martinsville, and Bristol. Those tracks are pure chaos, and would be pretty sweat-inducing with full damage effects.

Definetely Imola and Silverstone!!

I also hope they bring back a few Gran Turismo 2 tracks such as:

Red Rock Valley
Rome Night
Rome Small Circuit
Tahiti Road

And some more of those cool tracks!!

^^I don't know if any of the above tracks are REAL, but they ARE cool tracks :D

And also, all the tracks I have seen mentioned so far by other people, I want too!! :)

Well there's MOST of the tracks I want-There is a few more I want but I can't remember the names:(

:bowdown:L28eT

It's a possibility, L28eT...

Anyway, here's my track 'wish-list':

Daytona International Speedway (and road course)
Road Atlanta
Sebring Raceway
Mid-Ohio Road Course
Indianapolis Motor Speedway (and road course)
Spa Francorchamps
Portland Raceway
For GT5, I would like polyphony digital to get rid of all of the 'fantasy tracks' and install all real life race curcuits and rally courses and GT5.

My vote goes for Road America, also. I was just there a few weeks ago and the track is always fun. Personally, I'd like to see them include the old kink.

i think having the fantasy tracks is a good thing, it lets you take a break from reality and try somthing unique to this game series. a vacation of sorts, i guess.....

besides, some of them are just damn fun to drive....Trial Mountain and Midfield are two of my favorites

First include all of their previous fantasy tracks (Red Rock Valley, Rome (both), etc...
also include Silverstone, Donnington(sp?), Bathhurst, Spa, and any other real racing track (as many as possible).

I would love to see Daytona or Talladega as a replacement for the 'Super Speedway', but I'm sure EA has Nascar locked up.

Of course all the Formula 1 courses and all the JGTC courses. Those are kind of no-brainers.

But it would be really cool to have all the little courses like the ones the magazines use (Road & Track, Car & Driver, etc) along with the TV shows like Top Gear and Fifth Gear's tracks.

However, I find that I really like the original circuits quite a lot. Midfield is awesome, El Capitan is pretty good (challenging ...), Deep Forest and Grand Valley are incredible, and the rest aren't too bad either.

Mostly, though, I want a way to generate my own tracks. If it's simply imputing some parameters and having it randomly generate one, or picking out parts and assempling them in an order, whichever, I just want to be able to make up new tracks and race on them.

they wont replace the superspeedway because its part of the twinring complex...and that is a big site of real world JGTC races and there is no way they are getting rid of the JGTC tracks....after all, it is a Japanese game aimed at a Japanese audience first and the rest of the world second....and you definatly dont toss out stuff from what the main target group like with stuff of second priority audience.......

plus, i doubt that very many people outside the US will be welcoming to NASCAR ovals.......the vast majority of raceing fans in the world loves road circuits.....im not saying to toss all american tracks, hell, i would be thrilled if they include Watkins Glen (curent config as well as the original).....

I'm leaning towards Mosport International Raceway... since it's in my home-province :)

Road America would also be a great addition, as would Mid-Ohio.

Great thread!
That's what I was talking about!!

Some F1 circuits, some ovals, some Indy champ too...
Interlagos track [Brazil, the new and the old - just like Sarthe I & Sarthe II], PLEASE!!!

I think GT5 could give us the pleasure to drive some go-karting champ! ^^"

Some street tracks too... Pikes Peak just like GT2 and that Long Test Track [I don't know the name] that appears in GT3.

I think that's all! ^^"

Tks!!!!!!!...

road atlanta.
pacific raceways in seattle...not really, but that would be sweet.

and theyd better keep the circuits from GT4.

I don't really know real world circuts very well, but:

Bathurst: I read about it somewhere, it sounds like a pretty cool course. I just checked out a map, but maps don't really tell you anything about how a circut is to drive.

Pike's Peak: Anyone who doesn't think this should be in the game should find some way to get and watch Climb Dance with Ari Vatanen. (or if you already have the ubiquitous "crawling in the dark rally drift movie", all the good bits of that are from Climb Dance. :D)

the Vancouver Indy circut: It looks like this. Yeah, I just want some track that's in my area. It's a good one though.

Nurburgring GP circut: Pretty obvious addition if you ask me.

Nurburgring Südschleife: Read about it here. Some people would argue that if there's one thing the 'ring doesn't need, it's more track, but this would be a good idea just for the historical intrest.

Fuji Speedway '60s: Yes, there's yet another variation. More info and map.

Fiorano: If they finally get the Ferrari licence, they've got to put this in.

Maybe as some special deal with some manufacturer, they could put that company's proving grounds in the game. I think that'd be really cool. This is supposed to be GM's Arizona facility, but it doesn't seem to be loading for me.

  • VIR - Virginia International Raceway
  • Road America (Mainly because my brother works there for Skip Barber Racing School. Its a fun course.)

You beat me to it! that's the one that I would like.

That and summit point in West Virginia.

How about some kind option thing like photomode, except that you can take parts of the tracks that are in "GT5" and put them with other parts. eg take Eau Rouge from spa, Copse from silverstone, Flugplatz from the nurburgring the le mans straight and put the all together to make "The Ultimate Track". I know that there is a thread right next to this called "make your own track" but this isn't like what i am saying. What i am saying is copying and pasting parts of tracks in GT5 to make a better track

That would be fun. Wouldn't it?

or did i just go to far......

I usually don't participate in wish lists, but I figured I'd share my opinions.

a.) While it has its tough points, I'd like Monza in GT5. Monza is a very high speed course with its technical sections. While it is a nice F1 destination, it even suits sportscar racing very well. Once you're done with the more technical sections, it's almost flat-out speed. I love the speedy nature of this course. And if it was in the game, I'd like to imagine an endurance race there, imagine a 1,000 km race at Monza that you can race in GT5. We don't know about any possible weather changes, but I'd like to imagine it as a mostly clear, late evening timeframe. You know, skies are dark, but you can still see the sun slightly still out.

b.) Long Beach is America's oldest existing street course. It has its roots in Formula One, CART/Champ Car, Toyota Pro-Celebrity Race, even the SCCA and (maybe, but not sure) IMSA racing. Can you imagine racing the open-wheel formula race cars around Long Beach? Long Beach would make a nice endurance race as well. I've always imagined a race from 3PM Pacific Daylight or Standard Time all the way into 9PM Pacific or Daylight Time. Nice city, nicer race. Sunny, clear skies.

c.) I think one country needs to be better established in the GT series- Australia. Bathurst would be a wonderful course. It is what Indianapolis is to America. Mount Panorama would make a tough track. I can even envision tough license tests with those consecutive undulating right-left-right turns before heading onto that long backstretch. An endurance there would be none other than that Bathurst 1000. To make it sweet, it would have to be ONLY for Australian cars. Australian V8 Supercars to make it even better. That way, you try to prove that you can do one better than Codemasters. You have Australian cars, now make them work at home. Sunny, clear skies, but also include sunset.

More to come in the future. But those are my ideas, all the way down to potential endurances...
