long read but some interesting things i though.
first off, with the max amount of downforce being measured by putting weight on the car and seeing when the plank touchs wouldnt the suspension set up (i.e spring rates and ride height.) make a difference to when the plank would touch?
they also say that they wouldnt regulate the downforce by deminsions so does that mean the teams can chose the max heigh of the front wing and where the rear wing is or will they still keep max deminsions similer to now but losen them up a bit?
on the engines, they are talking about not having a v10 as a second engine choice for the smaller teams but a rev limited v8. does that mean there will be two v8's or will all be rev limited?
i dont like the idea they have proposed of rev limiting all engines to, say, 18,000rpm. i like the idea of with growing technology ataining higher revs. it has been said that in the next year 22,000rpm would be in reach. i like the sound of that.
they are also talking about hybrid technology being used in f1. by the brakes gathering force when used like is used in the toyota prius. is the extra weight worth an extra 50-60 hp?
also, would this be a full time system to be used when the car gets on a straight or would this be like the cart series' push to pass?
they are saying there may be an increas to the size of wheels and tires. is that really needed? if so how much are we talking? i dont like the idea of an F1 car sitting on dubs... but bigger wheels would allow for bigger brakes which would be good.
with the active tire presures, does that mean they would be able to adjust them during the race or just maintain them so avoid a flat or such?
i like the fact that teams will soon be able to sell their old cars to new teams. we finaly could see more then 10 teams. that combined with the elimination of the large 48 million entry bond should provide us with a few more teams which will make me happy.
now to the ecu's. i like the idea of each team making its own, but i dont like the idea of having traction control. the fia saying they would have to give up on policing it seems rather lazy to me.
