New Team - The Skyline Squadron

Hi everyone.

I'm fairly new here, about the only real thing I've done is start the 300mph Club (find it here), but I've always loved Skylines of any description, from the original classics to the latest race cars, so... 💡 I thought I could make a team for like-minded people.

A team which exclusively races Skylines, road and race, new and old, stock and modified. I hope I'm not the only person in the big wide GTPlanet who loves these cars so much, so I hope that people will join my racing team.

Post in this thread if you want to join The Skyline Squadron, or if you have any comments. Such as a better name :dopey:

The team is currently limited to six members, including myself.

By the way... As I don't have any online-gaming kit for my PS2 or any link between it and my PC, the competitions would be slightly less official than some, using photos of times or videos of replays etc. But this also means more people will be able to join.

Im interested, i love Skylines.

And with regards to the online competitions, 99% of competition on GTP uses replay verification, screenshots etc.

About the methods most used here, thanks. That means we're less likely to fade away as team who never did thinks properly!

OK, half-bump. Not editing old post so that it displays as new.

All those interested, buy the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 Midnight Purple Edition (so it's standardised

) and go to the Nuburgring. Do a free run with the car totally stock on S2s(Sport Medium Tyres), and run only a few laps. Define 'few' however you like, but don't spend hours getting a 'perfect' lap. Let me know your time at the old Nordschleife, with a picture if possible. This way, I'll know what calibre driver you are.

Hi there,

i must say that i believe that the skylines are one the most awesome looking cars i have seen in my life. The moment i first saw the aggresive front valance, and those gorgeous rear afterburner lights, i just fell in love with the skylines.

You have the rear wheel drive gts' which are monsters on the drifting scene,

the fully tuned GT-R v-spec's, with a monster 4 wheel drive and 4 wheel steering system,

to the absolute, hugely, cream your pants power of the 1200BHP RB26 engined Japanese Beasts, used for 250MPH + runs.

I simply cannot get enough of them. i have to have one for real.

The first Gran Turismo helped me to realise that the cars are not a piece of cake to drive, and also the massive tuning capabilities of the RB26 engine. Then in the other incarnations of Gran Turismo that i have played have given me a knowledge. A knoledge of the skyline family and its history.
Alot of info on the cars seems to go into these games, not just the realism on the driving aspect. I knew nothing at all about tuning before these games. Since then i have become a bit of a Speed Freak when it comes to power.

THE MORE POWER THE BETTER YOU FEEL

Any way, sorry to go on, but you can see my passion for these 'mental oriental' Skylines.

I would like to join to. but not sure if i can be taken i played the game long time ago and now it got earsed so i be racing with stock skylines if that its k than its good. i havent played the game for 1 month but i am good in racing i guess. so if i can join them thanks

TjOeNeR, OK. Let me know when you get a lap in, but it'd be best to use the exact car I said above for standardisation's sake 👍

Sanjko, pull a few laps in the M.N.P. Skyline and let me know what you get, then I'll see how you match up. Stock Skylines could be a problem later on, but we'll see 👍

BTW I haven't got a lot of practice in I'm too busy banging my head on Mission Thirty-Four (3.34x seconds off! Noo!) but I'll put up a time once I've finished with that.

I think that car runs a bit faster than the M.N.P (result of M-spec tuning by Nismo); so that'll be taken into account 👍

No problem. You're set to become a member 👍(above the threshold which I'm not about to disclose), and there won't be any more tests. I chose the old Norschleife because it's used a lot by Skyline tuners in real life and is the hardest course to get to grips with (I know it like the back of my hand by now).

The team hasn't been officially formed yet, this is just a test to see who will be in when I officially register the team

Hey all.

I just sent ToyotaDrifter a PM with our team details, so now the Skyline Squadron has been born!

Current members - Dark Elite ; viperpilot ; smuttneyspears ; GT4freak32492

Any member of the club can take it upon themselves to organise a competition with another club, just PM the details for my approval. This way, we get more racing in!

Also, we'll probably do some internal racing, that is to say races within the club to keep us on our toes, so to speak, and improve our skills. Good luck to us all.

Yep, we do indeed. As for now I've registered myself as the team leader, not because I'm a control freak or because I think I'm better but just because I'm the founder. When we've done a few competitions I'll probably organise a little poll for who should be the leader judging on performances, participation etc

If anybody knows anyone in another team, try to get something sorted with them so we 'break ourselves in' as a team 👍!

Good choice with the GT-R V2 Nur, that's a niiiice car 👍 but I'd take the M-Spec myself :drool:

The other competitions are just about anything (within financial reason :rolleyes:

) you yourself as team members can set up, so post in your ideas!

anyhowz i have just had a read and i can say that i have four or five skylines,
the M.N.P. III (349BHP) Standard
the lovely drift spec Blitz ER34 D1 2004. !!lovely!! (733)
the original and the best GT-R V-spec LM edition (754BHP)
" V-specII N1 (with the carbon hood)(802BHP)
the MINE'S GT-R (855BHP)
All in top spec part from roll cage and refresher plans.
Good going in the progress stakes, can't wait to get some racing (time trialing) going on. !!THE NEED FOR SPEED people.!! the art!

So which skyline should i use ? Personaly i woulld like to use GTR R34 Vspec II - stock, onS2 tyres with oil change (blue one on stock wheels

) - i will post best of 10 lap time.

OK here is my team entering time:
7'52.041 i could easy shave it down to 7.47~ but not within first 10 laps so im submiting that time.
tetsing car: Nissan Skyline GTR R34 Vspec II '00 stock, with oil change, S2 tyres.
Unfortunately i do not have replay device and i do not have digital camera but i can get it from my friend and make sme picture (i have ghost replay saved)
