Back to some GT Mode on a fast and relaxing track. No major difficulty this week, once you will have chosen a car and found settings to reduce the understeering tendancy of these 4WD.
Have a nice race.

I was just thinking about how I missed the R32 earlier in the series. I guess this is my chance to use it. I guess that gives me a head start on everyone that doesn't know what car to use. I like the TT too though... and the A3... and it would be fun to use the Beetle... Argh, sometimes I need freedom from choice.

But since I missed it, the GTI R32 it is.

Won't be able to race until Wednesday night, but looking forward to it.

So since I am kinda new to all this. Does this mean we can mod the car however we want, as long as we don't go above the hp limits?

I could hug you Cyril. VAG vehicles to tear up Grand Valley East. I'm in heaven. The only problem is with one is going to be my favourite. I love them all.

So we are allowed to buy racing tyres?:D

I guessing it means any mod as long as its not nos and the power isnt over what you limit it to.

Boy I can tell I'm gonna do badly in this race.

Half of winning is attitude, the other half is effort. You'll do fine man. Try to ignore who is faster than you, concentrate on improving at your own level it will come BELIEVE ME.

Cheers for the advice :)

Yeah, what Jump said!

Stick with it, you WILL suprise yourself!

Diff subject.

Anyone else having problems with the Golf?

When i am fitting the engine/exhaust up-grades, i get

429hp (going off the figures in the upgrade shop)
EDIT
Also in the tuning section it says 429HP next to the graph, but, only 423 Bhp when you click on the graph itself!

That's with race exhaust, stage 3,oil change and chip!

Is that right?

Neil

Cool race. Im not a fan of gt mode, or having to choose a car though. Id prefer a certain car on a certain track with a given setup etc. Just a little food for thought. Cant have that everyweek though. So ill just go with the flow.

Just wondering about the upgrades other than power...

Tires, wings, suspension, drivetrain, etc etc

Are those upgrades unlimited?

What tires should we run, racing or sports?

I remember flat-out saying he would be gone for some time soon. :scared:

Hope these questions get to the man before he's gone!

Later.
*fun looking race none the less! 👍

According to instructions, or more precisely the ommisions to the instructions, racing tires, weight reduction, racing suspension and tranny are all accepted. Just no NOS. I fitted the AudiTT with everything and arrived at exactly the HP required.
I sure don't know what he meant by understeer, the TT ,if anything has major oversteer, I had made a few adjustments like upping the camber a bit, stiffining the springs a bit and a bit of chassis lowering.
This is gonna be fun, great track and car combo, not a nailbiter at all.

I agree, all seems to be allowed except for nitrous and Hp over the limits laid out.

Both Audi's hit the Hp figure correctly
The Beetle hits the 436 too
(but you can't fit a wing)

The golf however hits 429 not 428.

Can someone please double check for me, I do like the way the Golf handles.

Cheers in advance

Neil

dont you guys find.... running on R5's with street cars is kinda lame?

not complaining, just venting

Look Guys, I know i was a bit of a pain in the ass over the last few days. :guilty:

And for that I sincerely appologise.

I didn't mean to upset anyone. Honest

I have been VERY stressed out, with things at home and typed out my stress.

Forgive me, please? You know it's not my usual behaviour.

So, could someone please answer my question about the Golf?

It does seem to me to be the smoothest and best behaved of the cars, and for me at least it is the fastest on first blush.

Neil

Thought I better get some splits up, it will be the only time this week I'll be close to the top.

First 10 laps.

T1 - 19.727
T2 - 38.610

Using the New Beetle RSi, only because it looks sooo cool. (But I want a yellow one!). Only adjustments were lowering to 90/90, and I adjusted the VCD to 37, for no real reason at all.

What I found interesting is at least with this car, the only one I'll use, that it can get both Turbo and NA. The Turbo suprisingly gives up a few horses (421), but gains in torque (57 vs 52 with the NA). There is quite a difference between the power/torque curves as well.
I'm running the Turbo at the moment.

Yo Neil,

Just B-Spec the thing at Test Track for 300 miles and I'm sure you'll lose the 1 HP!

:^)

Sorry if that wasn't the answer you were looking for...

Golf IV R32 '3 @ 429 hp

T1 19.305
T2 38.271

Neil

Flat-out, good choice man! I love the TT, I just have to get used to this track. This is definatley going to give me some tips-and-tricks. Can't wait till tonight!

Ah, I guess its time to start doing this again. I'm not currently involved in any OLRs, mine isn't exactly taking off, so I'll run this. I'm going to guess that the TT is the fastest car here, so away I go.

Flat-out: Your signature needs updated. ;)

Good to race with you all again last week, but I'm not in for this weeks challenge.:(
See you all again for the next arcade race though! 👍

Audi TT @ 357Hp

TI: '24.362
T2. '46.992

Well, I'm on borrowed money so I can't get to the max HP for the TT - Anyhow, these are pretty good splits for a adolesenced TT.

Oh my GOD YES!!! SWEEEEEEEEET!!! I call the A3 Quattro! And I'll stick to it! Regardless if something is faster or not... I was driving it around Paris, and thus had to make it handle... So, it handles! I hope. We'll see if I left it setup or not. COOL!

R5's? Maybe? Lol, but not R tires in general... R5 tires on anything though is lame, but I'll do it... :)

great combo again, cyril is 5 out of 6 with me... only one i didn´t like was the aston martin...

i have no idea if this splits are good or no, just wanted to get some laps with the audi TT to see how it goes...

T1 - 19´306
T2 - 37´454

those were the best i saw because mainly i only did 7 laps... didn´t touch settings...

great week i guess... but cars are different... one of them will be the one everybody runs...

Sorry Neil I've bought all 3 other cars and outfitted them and didn't even consider the Golf(I have no idea why) and found the TT the best to my liking, but now ya got me wondering about the Golf, so I guess I'll go fire the PS2 up again and give it a go. Back to ya later.

quick question for the Golf users....
What mods did you use to get 428 HP?.... I think there may be a few different ways..lol
I have, oil change, sport exhaust, na tune stage 3, engine balancing, port/polish... 428 on the nose :)
No chip....

A3 for me! I love that car, everything about it, except the haldex diff that all these cars have. Plus I already bought one a long time ago.

Good luck everybody! I really hope the cars are all closely matched!
