So, the 2-hour season premiere was tonight (or rather last night, seeing as how I'm writing this at 3 in the morning); did anyone else catch it? They are going to continue with another 2-hour installment tomorrow (today) at 8:00PM. I'm on the West Coast, so check your local listings.

This show is seriously awesome, I can't put into words how much I love this show. It is the only show I watch religiously. If you aren't watching it, you're doing yourself a major disservice.

For those that are familiar with the show, use this thread to discuss the season (recent episodes, speculations, etc.).

What a season opener that was, I've avoided all the fansites and forums regarding 24 so I don't pick up any spoiler an I didn't expect any of that to happen like it did.

The premier was shocking, throughout the whole 2 hours, I was just sitting there slack-jawed and speechless. Can't wait for the other half of the four hour premier today. 👍

**SPOILERS**

Yeah, I still can't believe they killed off TWO important characters in the first half hour or so. Tony is going to be pissed when he gets up, should be fun.

EDIT: Holy crap, live4speed changed his avatar.

What did you guys think about the 2 recent episodes? I thought it was kind of sloppy of Jack to not immediately go after the man in the yellow tie once the assault was over. And someone needs to kick Logan in the balls, I seriously can not stand this guy.

Yeah I noticed that, I was thinking the first thing he'll do once he's free'd himself is go for the guy in the yellow tie and leave Derek for the CTU agents to uncuff.

As for Logan, he's a major jerk, but his character is superb. I'm enjoying the new series so far, quite a lot. I expected there to be more of a manhunt for Jack though. Also Sean Austin coming into the show, so far his character seem's like it could provide a good few plot points.

Jack baur is too cool. I only saw the first half of the season preimere which was awesome. I'd just like to point out, I just jumped in right now and I kinda understand pretty much everything that is going on....and that's a good thing for a show.

I agree. Logan may be a complete jackass, but he is going to make for some great drama this season.

I was also surprised by how casual everyone was about Jack still being alive. The Chinese are going to completely flip out when they find out about this.

And Rudy totally saved the day. 👍

I've been wondering....When Jack Bauer blew up one of the terrorist's vests, why didn't he blow up the rest of them when they ran off to see what had happened? Seemed like fish in a barrel to me.

This show makes up for the rest of the horrible day known as Monday.

Maybe each vest/bomb has a unique detonation frequency.

The only commercials I've seen have a song I think it called "A new day". Probably not the same commercial your thinking of though.

Theres been a lot of different commercials for 24 season 5, it'd help knowing which one your on about. The one I've seen is here in the UK, so I doubt very much it's what your after. As for the song in this one, I can't think who it's by, I've heared it before and I think it's called A new day, that's all I can say.

Nina Simone - Feeling Good.

Anyway...

I just got the first two series of 24 (for £18 each, new...) having never seen it before. Currently at 4pm.

Edit: Season 1 - Saw that coming. And the alternate ending was rubbish.

Tonight's episode was at least the third time one of the terrorists in the series has had a degree in chemical engineering. I have half a mind to write the producers to tell them to stop with the stereotypes, or they'll be very very sorry :)

You'd have to be pretty stupid to try anything with chemical weapons if you didn't have any experts with you. It'd be like trying to steal a plane but not knowing how to fly it.

Great episode this week, probably my favorite one so far this season. I could not believe President Assclown went along with Walt Cummings. I mean, I know the guy is an idiot, but wow...

On the plus side, I loved how Jack handled Walt; awesome scene. I was a bit disappointed when Jack didn't start cutting Walt up, though. :(

I never really watched 24, but after hearing from people how great this series is. I may start to watch the series now guys.

Damn, must avoid reading the posts in this thread! I don't want to read anything that'll spoil it for me...

It starts in the UK this Sunday, right? I'm going to watch it, even though it is much better watching it on DVD.

Play.com have special offers on the season sets right now - £17.99 each.

Walt did threaten him if he didn't go along with it, and he lied about the situation and since Loganhad known him for over 8 years he believed him, he is a clown. At least he handled Jack and Aaron decently though, about the only decent thing he's done in his history of being in 24.

Chuck Norris wears Jack Bauer pyjamas.

Jack Bauer would get off the "Lost" island in 2 hours.

The only sleep Jack Bauer needs is when a terrorist knocks him out or he is killed temporarily.

I've seen the first 3 seasons, I loved them, they're exciting to watch 👍
Yet, I have to see the 4th season.

I just recently got into 24. But my sister has. I finished season 2 a couple of days ago and started Season 3 just yesterday. My sister is going to record (TiVo) season 5.

President Assclown?

Damn Palmer does die, I liked that guy.

Season 3 is good, season 4 is better, season 5 so far is better again. IMO though, season 1 is still the best, would have been better without the little amnesia sub plot part. Ryan Chapelle has a larger part to play in season 3, there's a fantastic scene with him in, ranks up there for one of the best scenes in 24 to date. I won't spoil it for you, but I'm just letting you know, there's a lot to look forward to.

Logan comes off as weak and easily-manipulated, but if you think about it, he is only reacting in the same way as most of us would when given disturbing information about terrorist plots. Remember, he was elected as the vice-president and forced into the presidency after whats-his-face was in that plane crash. Although he probably should have worked out the kinks in the 18 months that separate seasons 4 and 5.
