Okay, after playing a bit more with it, I'm warming up. Once you're past the rough learning curve and the crappy interface, it's quite fun and rewarding. Treshold braking and having to carefully throttle blip / do rev-matching while shifting makes it very intensive and engaging. I'm also getting used to the sound... after all, an F1600 engine in real life isn't the sexiest sound you'll hear in motorsport. I'm not considering buying it until the online play isn't fixed though, it's not working at the moment.
It really is for hardcore racing sim fans, that's no game.
There's a hack to make the LCD work:
- Save a replay
- Load the replay
- Press F2 to change camera
- Press R to start driving
And now you have a working LCD screen.
Another thing: if you wreck or race for a while,
you have to mount new tires, no matter what. Even if you leave and re-enter the game, you will keep your used tires, with their flat spots or even worst, flat tires.
If your helmet gets dirty, press L.
To walk around the pits/track, press F11.
So far I'm running low 1.5X.XX - high 1.4X.XX on the long vesion of the demo track.
