Anybode here who's playing 0.99? If not, here's the site for the final version.
It's a sim racing game that will take the genre to whole new heights. Read more on the site. :D

Cheers.

yeah i was gonna make a thread on it after it came out but u beat me to it kinda. I've been waiting for netkar pro for years. Its supposed to be awsome but we shal find out later on this month. its supposed to come out march so any day now i'll have it...

This looks pretty cool. Although the F1 type model only has 230hp. That doesn't sound right!

I am still eagerly awaiting it's release. Thanks for the info.

What is 0.99?

if the f1 type model only has 230hp maybe its not meant to simulate f1. maybe some other formula class? :P just like the formula v8 in lfs is identical to the Formula 3000/nippon cars.

.99 namie is the older version of netkar. the pro game will have dx9 graphic and new physics and sound engine as well as new cars and track i think.

News!

Releasedate: April 10th 2006.

Gallery filled with pictures, artwork and vids!

It looks....AWSOME!

Edit: And the "F1 Type model" is probably a Formula Renault.

I haven't seen anything but open wheelers in this, tbh I'm not that interested in open wheel racing.

I think the DevKit allows to program own cars and physics. Not sure. But what is sure is that they are going to release a shxtload of updates and cars! :D

its getting mixed reviews. a majority of people are giving it thumbs down. :( it seems to be buggy. the lcd for the demo doesnt appear to work at all... i dont know if this was intentional or not. I like knowing how fast i'm going and what gear i'm in... its crucial information

Buy it for the mods.

I've counted about 10-16 different mods being planned and made (many transfering from GTR, F1, etc.).

The number of Standalone cars is very great.

Horrible. That demo sucked. WAY too buggy, the LCD doesn't work in the demo (if you read the manual, it says it doesnt work in the demo. Only full.). And it tells you nothing about what keys are what, just push and see.

Well, I think it certainly shows some potential once you've set everything up correctly, but yeah, removing the LCD from the Demo sucks. Not allowing any sort of multiplayer was a bad move too.

There's a small lag between the real movement of my wheel and how it moves on screen, I removed the wheel in video settings and I drive much better without that distraction. Other than that, physiscs look quite good. Sounds were way overhyped, but they aren't bad at all.

And yes, documentation seems quite spartan.

Okay, after playing a bit more with it, I'm warming up. Once you're past the rough learning curve and the crappy interface, it's quite fun and rewarding. Treshold braking and having to carefully throttle blip / do rev-matching while shifting makes it very intensive and engaging. I'm also getting used to the sound... after all, an F1600 engine in real life isn't the sexiest sound you'll hear in motorsport. I'm not considering buying it until the online play isn't fixed though, it's not working at the moment.

It really is for hardcore racing sim fans, that's no game.

There's a hack to make the LCD work:

- Save a replay
- Load the replay
- Press F2 to change camera
- Press R to start driving

And now you have a working LCD screen. :)

Another thing: if you wreck or race for a while, you have to mount new tires, no matter what. Even if you leave and re-enter the game, you will keep your used tires, with their flat spots or even worst, flat tires.

If your helmet gets dirty, press L.
To walk around the pits/track, press F11.

So far I'm running low 1.5X.XX - high 1.4X.XX on the long vesion of the demo track.

I thought this was going to be freeware?

If so, why bother with a demo, and when does the full version come out?

wow... people were impressed nkpro had the backing of formula ford but then lfs reveals it now has support from formula 1:embarrassed:

It's not about the sponsors. It's about the physics. LFS is very, very unreal. I mean, how the the hell do the car flip of pure grip?

It will do that with enough lateral grip (grippy tires, surface). I've seen quite a few BTCC cars doing this while racing, I even seen a vid of a stock E36 doing it in a flat parking lot.

I've easily got a Wrangler on two wheels at low speed, and I often got my previous car (a Golf) rear wheels on one side in the air.

Rollover is a type of vehicle accident, where a vehicle turns over on its side or roof. This happens when the centre of mass ends up outside of the vehicle area of contact with the ground defined by its wheels.

The main cause for rolling over is turning too sharply while moving too fast. The force of inertia (acting in the direction opposite to the one it is turning) is combined with the force of gravity (acting downwards). When the combined force as applied to the centre of vehicle's mass falls outside of the rectangle formed by the wheels, the vehicle starts to turn over. A skilled driver may stop the fall by stopping the turn. It is possible to drive the car then on two wheels for some time.

yeah lol... dont get me started on the things wrong with nK Pro :P. there's no need to kick nkpro when its already down.

If the grip is too high in a turn and the angle and speed of the turn are right for it, the car can flip, seen it hapen a few times in touring car racing.
