Wow, that's extremely sad. I'll always miss his little comments like "Crickey", and "What a beauty."

Such a good man.:nervous:

wow....he died with honor man. The documentary was aimed to the stingray and he died because of it. My full respects and condolences

I always liked that guy because of his bravery and courage that he had while facing cocodriles, but yet he made it seem like he was playing around with them....so fantastic.

It is a sad day indeed.

Ciao :(

I used to love watching his show, and I always loved his over-the-top personality; he was just a likeable guy. It sucks that he won't be around anymore now.

Yeah.......funny thing is,I' was watching one of his documentaries yesterday.......I always admired his bravery to come that close to some of the deadliest animals on this panet........

Damn it. What is the zoo going to do without him? What of the crocs? What of his family? He was only 44! What a tragic day.

R.I.P., STEVE IRWIN!

I just saw it on a news break on TV, very sad news :(

R.I.P Steve Irwin.

*EDIT*

Just remembered he has two young children, going to be hard on them. :(

So that's what the news was about.

On the news just seconds ago, they were talking about his wife(she is from Oregon). I just caught the tailend of the story, so I thought she died or something. This is extremely sad. He will be missed, literally by millions of people.

Thats very sad. I can't imagine how his kids feel, losing your father while you're still young would be a terrible thing.

That's a damn shame, indeed :guilty:.... a great personality with a real passion for his subject, and an infectious quality that made the man about as undislikable as it is possible for a human being to get.

I suppose questions may be asked about the safety aspects of what he was doing, but he was a trained, qualified professional and there's (thus far) no reason to suggest that this was nothing more than a tragic accident. Yes, by definition his job involved putting himself in harms way sometimes, but then you could say the same about anyone that goes diving (or even in the sea at all) or who choose/have to work with dangerous animals...

I...I...I thought he was invincible...
You know, you have a point. He's done so much crazy stuff, before I really knew about him, I'd have thought he should have died long time ago. I guess I just thought that he was invincible and nothing could harm him. It really is kind of hard to believe that he is gone.

damn, I was planning on going to see him at Australia zoo someday, looks like I will only be able to look at the memorial that will without a doubt be built there for him.

At least he was doing what he loved.

RIP

We were at school and everyone thought it was a rumour and people were cracking jokes about it. I hope they feel like **** now cause steve irwin did so much for australia.

Sad day indeed, heard about it on the radio on the way into work.

I have always enjoyed his show, watching them with my kids has been a part of growing up for them and I'm sure they will be upset to hear the news.

My heart goes out to his wife and kids, and I hope that the zoo will live on with the help of his friends and family.

In my thoughts

Scaff

He may have played the fool, but he has done a huge amount to bring the issue of conservation to the masses. I've never seen a person so passionate about his interest (He was the only celebrity that appeared on a huge wall mural that I did for a school). I for one will miss his energy and enthusiasm greatly. A legend and a true loss.

I've never seen someone as enthusiastic as Steve Irwin he will be missed by many - no more so then his family and friends i guess.

Such an unfortunate way to go too. All those crocs and snakes he delt with on a daily basis and then he gets barbed by a stingray. i know a 'sting' can be pretty painful, my wife got stung on the foot by one whilst in Florida a few years back, but you don't expect someone to die from it. Its unusual to be stung in the adomen, stingrays only strike as a defence so you are more likely to be hit on your limbs. Its all very very unfortunate.

I really liked Steve Irwin, and my condolences to his wife and children.

R.I.P Steve Irwin.

However, on the TV news report, his friend stated that he died happy and not in pain. After being stabbed through the heart, underwater by a stingray.

Sad day. He was such a nice guy, but I’m sad to say that he’d been pushing fate for many years. :indiff:

:(
