Here they are! PD has always seem to throw in the rallys seemingly as an after thought. I would say that Sega has a mighty fine start here. I see in the shots that maybe they have deformable terrain as motorstorm does. The particals in the mud have a nice variety of size and texture. The cars and reflections look up to par with the ps3. What do you think and lets use this for future updates.

And a link for some details

Hard to say...How many racers do they think we need? Do they think they can compete with GT5 or even want to? This game is kinda on its own...as it is a cross between motorstorm and a GT game.

This LINK provides better information about the game and reveals that the game is far enough along that a demo does exist. Maybe a ps3 download could be in the works?

I agree....I can't wait to see how it flys. If Rally Revo comes out a year behind motorstorm...is it considered a second gen game with second gen graphics?

please guys... come on... those screens are taken directly from the 'intro video' or whatever other cutscene... i'd bet a paycheck on that. These are not in-game shots.

Oh here we go! The same old "those aren't in-game"! Who really cares. Will it make the difference in the end if these are not in game? Will you say to yourself..."I am not going to buy Sega Rally Revo because the first time I saw pics of the game they were fake!" Come on guys...grow up already.

Actually, it is a game engine. Basically, think of Unreal 2K7 tech demo from E32K5. You should get the picture from that.

The only difference I expect to see between these shots and the final version is a drastic difference in the mudd. There is no way they will stick to mud with chunks that large with textures like that.

I care, because it misrepresents the actual (and final) product.

Everyone who were saying "wow check the graphics" in the motorstorm thread, then saw the game and later cried saying "this is bull****, this looks nothing like the E3 video we saw" and bla bla bla...

This is exactly the same thing here. I don't see why i can't warn everyone that those screen shots are only a pipe dream to disappointment.

Finally, don't put words in other people's mouth... that's rude. I've grown up and that's exactly why i'm posting headsup.

Soo...your holding a grudge against Motorstorm and you will not be buying a fun game because of the E3 video? You must miss out on alot of things with that kind of attitude.

I didn't put words into your mouth. The exact words I used is "will you say to yourself"...but thanks for reading the post and thread anyway.

Just to clarify...

That quote is exactly that... putting words in someone else's mouth..

I own a Ps3... and i play the Motorstorm demo frequently. I love it and can't wait for the retail... i can't care less about the E3 demo. what i said was that 'some people complained'... as in... Other people then me.

My attitude is a conservative one, its got nothing to do with playing fun games are not...

And you're welcome, great thread. Just don't let anyone overhype themselves over fake screenshots.

They're not "fake screenshots" though. Sega has openly stated that they are from their current build of a developmental engine. While I think it may be downgraded in the future, they are definately not "fake".

That is, if by "fake" You mean they are "CGI", which they are not.

humm...I thought I was asking a question?! Is that your line of thinking?

This answers your line of thinking! The answer is no. You will buy the game even if the trailer or pics don't live up to the expectations. I am glad to hear that you were just speaking for others and not what you yourself believe.

Fearful of commitment eh...Afraid to be let down? We all been there and done that. Its ok to let go every now and then.

I will make sure that we have fun anticipating a new game. Overhype is out of our control. We just pass on whatever info we find on the net. I really would rather not hear people complain or flame like we have had to put up with in the motorstorm thread. Anyone wanting to complain about something fake should email to whom it may concern.

03r1, you are twisting everything i say (and probably others) for your own benefit. Its wrong and rude. I'll have no more to do with you.

Jeremy,

Sega has openly stated that they are from their current build of a developmental engine[\quote]

That only means that what they are showing was made with the game's material and engine. It doesn't state that its in-game or representative of what players will play on the retail. That's PR bull**** for hyping their game. Its worst then showing a Mockup video showing "what we hope gameplay will look/feel like"; things said about Motorstorm and Killzone2 - Which for the record, are fine allegations considering they say it is what they are 'shooting' for if you'll permit the expression.

What i'm trying to put out here, and seems to be a hell of a lot harder then it should be... is that Sega did not say this was a mockup video or screens, but refer to those screens as 'in-game engine screenshots'... which is bull****.

My concern is that people look at those screens and say "WOW this is AWESOME" and then discover that its not that nice when in-game.

Overall, everyone can think whatever they want, i'm fine with that. But i hate that marketing bull**** from companies lying about game content and packaging to create hype.

That's all.

Sorry to have given you that impression. My postion clearly stated is that I would like this thread to be void of the banter existing in the Motorstorm thread. I want to hear any new information you find or anything else you have to add. Is it ok that this shouldn't be the place to flame up something? If I had some issue with my "own benefit" I wouldn't have shared the pics with anyone else. I ask you to please stay and comment on any facts that you might come across in the developement of this game.

When it boils down to it, it's not hype.

They are building an engine for their game. The engine will consist of how things will work, and you have to build your engine before you can begin the creative process and complete your title.

So, with that said, the engine consists of the physics, lighting, collision, etc. Later in development they will add effects, refine textures, models, and particles in order to attain optimal performance. But the fact remains that at this point in their engine development, THAT is what it looks like. That may not be what the game will look like, could look better, could look worse, but it is what the engine looks like as of now.

There is no marketing PR bull there. It's just the truth put out on the market so people can interpret it as they may.

Everyone who were saying "wow check the graphics" in the motorstorm thread, then saw the game and later cried saying "this is bull****, this looks nothing like the E3 video we saw" and bla bla bla...

Name five people who said/did that. AFAIK, Camaroboy did it, but no one else.

Only two people causing all that trouble? I guess some people will defend anything to the end.

Jeremy,

I'm sorry but you've got it backwards... games are not awesome looking and then toned down... they look like crap with no texture, and then look better for release.

Read what Michael McWhertor from Kotaku has to say here: http://kotaku.com/gaming/ps3/first-sega-rally-revo-fantasyland-screenshots-229472.php
I happen to fully agree.

Anyone who thinks this is what the game looks like (or will look like on release) is a foul. Sorry, but that's a fact and you can quote me on that on release date.

Oh and just to make things clearer... in development cycles... this is what "games" look like when they are in conception: http://www.gametrailers.com/umwatcher.php?id=32189 (Motorstorm WIP)

Ok OK, RedOak...these are not in game. Now where do you want to go from there? Are you personally offended by Sega releasing these shots?

In the last pic, I can make out the Fabia WRC and Focus WRC, but what's the blue one near the front?

lol. Yeah, but you never know. And I'd rather answer his question with him being sarcastic than to have a member ask a question and go unanswered. hehe.

I wasn't being sarcastic.

I actually couldn't identify it.

Wow...How long have you been playing gran turismo. There are I think four versions of that blue Subaru Impreza. I just figured that a GT player couldn't miss a WRC Impreza. Sorry for just making a joke out of your real question.
