Dik-diks, named for the sound they make when alarmed, are small antelopes of the Genus Madoqua that live in the bush of southern and eastern Africa. Dik-diks stand 30–40 cm at the shoulder and weigh 3–5 kg. They have an elongated snout and a soft coat that is grey or brownish above and white below. The hair on the crown forms an upright tuft that sometimes partially conceals the short, ringed horns of the male.[/IMG]

Did anyone else know about this?
I had no idea it ever existed.

I am amused.

 I think its amazing that no-one has ever shoved a dik-dik in some funny movie; Borat, Napoleon Dynamite etc.

I did know about them, but I never knew they were only 30-40cm tall. That's tiny! I always imagined them to be deer-sized.

You don't care that an animal with an amusing name exists?

I find it titivating to the xtreme.

*breathing heavily* Hey guys, did you hear about what happened to Enron? :dopey:

Sorry Ultrabeat. Why did you think Sessler wore the shirt?

Lickitung > Slooooowwwwwpoke.

A kid in elementary school may find this funny, I'm sure it'd get a ton of giggles in a 3rd grade class.

I do find it interesting because I had no idea such an animal like this existed, reminds me of a baby deer.

+REP 👍 This thread is awesome.

All I can think of is a David Attenborough voice talking about spotting dik-diks in the bush. :D

This is the part of the thread where I say I've seen a dik-dik 20 years ago at the Miami Metro Zoo, because I'm ahead of my own time. Then the whole thread just dies off like a bad dream, but nobody locks it. A year from now, someone will return it to the top, and then a moderator locks it. Following that, said member wonders why we locked the thread, probably by creating another thread, likely in the wrong forum. Furthermore, just to prove me wrong, this thread will continue, and nobody will remember it in a week.
