:: GT4 WRS Week 109 ::
As promised we will be having a GT-Mode combo this week. When drivers ask for GT-Mode I get the impression that they are looking for a bigger challenge. :sly: I wonder how well this one will go down then. ;) Image to follow. (no ps2 access atm)

Damn, I'm all over this. Been waiting for GT Mode, and Tsukuba Wet, for a long time... And again, I've got a free week - but this time, for real.

No internet connection next to PS2 means I'll have to develop my own setup :(

This looks fun, I was thinking about Tsukuba Wet this week, I'll have a crack over the weekend prob 👍

I'll be the slow pace setter then :P

14.7 / 33.7

Good fun, just need to sort out a nice set up 👍

Well after giving this one a go i can say that tsc sucks but its better than my foot :)

14.472
33.592

after about 10 laps and some minor tweaking to the car i got a superslow 15879 and 35522.

setup wise it's a pity the ayc that the normal evo's are equipped with is unavailable in the rallye car. using the frontwheeldrive other than at 10 makes it more difficult to point. brakes i'm not sure about yet, currently i have them both at 10. setting the tranny to 25 makes it more stable but also slower.

jerry, you say no wing allowed but on this car it's standard and you cant set it to 0/0.

He means I shouldn't go and attach an extra hybrid "Floater" wing :sly:

And the AYC is not on the Rallycar for the same reason it's not on Evo RS models - the AYC is too complicated and weak, mechanically, to survive the harsh treatment of a full-blown rally. So they attach a simple LSD for the road-variants. I'm sure by now, they've replaced the race-spec ones with hyper-intelligent active LSDs.

I got a headache!!!

Seriously, it took me some 60 laps or so before i got near 34s
at T2. With some minor changes to the car setup and a TCS of 3,
I finally managed:

T1: 14.687
T2: 33.710

Btw, is there something wrong if it says 404 BHP in the replay?
I got the stage 3 turbo and an oil change, shouldn't I get 430 BHP?

This is an uber-combo... in my humble opinion.

I think it should say 430hp in the settings section. I'll check as soon as I have access to the ps2.

Damn fun, this beast. Tail-happy even on stock settings. But long-gone DREs raised their ugly head today - hope they disappear quickly...

I had just started to get it setup and finally got the first corner right. Instead of letting the pressure get to me and blowing the next corner I acutally did good. Then I nailed the right-hander under the bridge. But the extra speed caused me to booch the left heading to the hairpin. So I just slowly went around the hairpin so that it wouldn't be my fastest lap for when I saved the ghost. I then picked up the speed again so I could have good speed accross the start finish line. After another 45 minutes I never got close to that lap. Usually I was 1-1.5 seconds behind. The one time I did see the blue at T1 I screwed it up on the next corner.

....oh.. Great. :indiff: Guess I'll rip a lap off tonight if I can get DRIV3R out of the tray.. :sly:

Cheers,
Corey

Try an oil change ;)

It always shows less HP in GT Mode replays. Seems like it's determined by worn-oil values or something...

hey all...

nice combo Jerry, might have a crack at this, but dun laugh at my times, havent played in a few months... :P

14.564
33.354

blew a tenth or two in each sector, but it is quite tricky to really get it hooked up for one whole lap... in saying that, i havent had this much fun on Tsukuba wet since BC5 last year... time submitted...

Good to see ya back Andrew 👍

I'm getting a weird power drop at the end of the straight. :boggled:

edit: It's not the straight it does it in 5th and 6th gear @ 5500 RPM

not much activity here so I will double-post. :dopey:

14.489
33.567

I was running 0 tcs and that was the cause of the power drop.

running with tcs off, makes you slower? :irked:

who's running this thing these days, its such a long time since i came racing....
Is it master Sphinx?
and Weary, youre a moderator.... like Han would say "jeez, im out of it for a little while and everyone gets delusions of grandure"
Well Done 👍
Nice to see some faces i recognise....

can i clear some things up?
i only install the turbo, and get the oil changed right?
and its the HP value in the settings...
sorry to be so noobish
:grumpy:👍

It was a different power drop, almost like a bug in the software, not the typical TCS feel we are used to. It was very bizarre.

I think im experiencing it.... something to do with the wet road.... only a G25, clutch pedal and GT5 can cure such a phenomenon, methinx.....
:grumpy:👍

oh no wait... i know what it is!

basically, (lets see if i can describe this at this time of nite) im changing up too early, and just spinning the wheels all through the gears.

Like if you put your car on a wet football field, you can get to 5th gear, the speedo says 100mph+ but your crawling across the field, yeah?
The power drop comes when the car gradually begins to regain traction.
try getting full grip in 3rd, before nailing it down the back straight.
:irked:👍
and let me know if im babbling nonsense.....

I'm not able to try your suggestion (away from the console for the weekend) but it sounds like it makes sense. I tried different tactics as well but to no avail. A little TCS solved the trouble though, and my splits started dropping, so I didn't experiment any more with it...

My guess is that most of us are going to run some TCS, just don't know how much the top racers will end up running. I guess we need Ron and Hugo to pipe in.

My splits, not sure how good/bad they are...twas after about 10 laps:

T1: 0`14.544
T2: 0`33.788

I know I crapified the last corner but I'll have another crack later 👍

👍

Not bad at all those....

Im all over the place and very close to you, sometimes edging in front, but only at T1.

I put this down to lack of sleep, and lack of practice of late.
Its difficult to get the car to stop i find, and the gearbox's perfect setup for the first hairpin to second hairpin stretch eludes me.
I will post T's if i can be bothered to persevere with this combo over the weekend.

:grumpy:👍

Yeah I've got a slight improvement but I can only see another 0.2 - 0.3 in me:

T1: 0`14.648
T2: 0`33.715

Happy 30th by the way David 👍 Plenty has definitely happened since you were last around...the man in charge is Sphinx as you rightly observed.
