I think the downside to Monday is that's the typical day GT6 releases their updates so we get booted off so we switched to Tuesdays....admittedly, I don't usually play GT6 Monday nights anymore so I don't know if that's still the case.

So, what's going on with the DTC? I was expecting news but nothing came out, last night no one was on line... You guys gave up? What's happening?

You need to keep an eye on the thread. There was lots of discussion about having trouble connecting. They took the decision to postpone to Sunday.

Last week @Drgreenthumb977 kept me company as I ran some laps and thought about the format for the West Coast event. Here is my latest idea. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

-------

In order to keep it simple how about we race one car for a season worth of races?

q. How long is a Season
a. 3 weeks. That will give us a chance to get to know the car but also not become bored of it. Each season will be followed by a 1 week break.

q. Why do we need a break
a. Well I know I do. Trying to keep all these things updated is hard. The break will also allow everyone a good chance to prepare for the next season.

q. What will the next season be?
a. Well the winner of the previous season will get to choose the car. 2nd place will get to choose 2 tracks. 3rd place will choose the final track.

q. What will the races be.
a. The night will start out with a qualifying session of 6-10 minutes. That will be followed by a 10 minute sprint race. The result of the sprint race will decide the starting positions for Race 1. Race 2 will be a reverse grid race. Race 1 and 2 will each be 20 minute races. That should give us 1 hour of race time in about 90 minutes.

q. How will it be scored.
a. Race 1 and 2 will be scored 1st - 16, 2nd -15, 3rd - 14, …

q. Why will the sprint race not be scored.
a. The sprint race is a warm up race. It is sort of a final place to calm your nerves.

q. Are there any points for qualifying.
a. No. you get points for winning and finishing the races.

q. How do I sign up.
a. Just post in the thread your desire to take part.

q. When is the first official race.
a. That will depend on the signups. I would like to get 8 confirmed drivers before we officially launch. Before that we will try to meet up and do some practice and fun sessions. It will also allow us to iron out any issues with the format.

q. What is lineup.
a. TBD. But lets start out by allowing each person that signs up to choose one of the following pairings. The pairing with the most votes will be the cars we practice with leading up to the series. Once we have a start date all participants will vote between the two choices within the group.

Group A - Volkswagen Scirocco GT24 Base Model '08 / Honda INTEGRA TYPE R (DC5) Touring Car '04
Group B - Subaru IMPREZA GT300 Base Model '08 / Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX GSR Touring Car '05
Group C - RE Amemiya RX7 GT300 Base Model '06 / Subaru BRZ GT300 Base Model '12
Group D - Autobacs Garaiya GT300 Base Model '08 / Renault Sport Mégane Trophy Base Model '11
Group $$ - Alfa Romeo GIULIA TZ2 carrozzata da ZAGATO CN.AR750106 '65 / Ferrari 250 GTO CN.3729GT '62

Hey guys, since this looks to be moving to Sundays, I have a couple questions. Is the DTM on Sunday 9:30PM or AM Pacific time or is that a special Sunday West coast event? Depending on the times, I hope to start up with you guys

the normal DTC event will be running at 9:30 eastern time.

This event is an idea I have (heavily influenced by the two great series you run) to try to get my old west coast racers together. It would start at 9:30pm pacific time. If that time works for you it would be awesome to have you on board.

I had even thought of a great way to deal with a knockout session if by some miracle we got a full grid and then you posted your new KOQ and I was like damn! That was exactly what I was thinking. Well I guess it is true there are no original ideas. Also I think a few DTC guys might want to join your Tuesday series:)

Thanks for the kind words

The DTC time on Sundays will work for me (once football season is over) however the 9:30 West coast event might be tough for me depending on how long it goes as I get up really early on mondays.

As for the tuesday series, would love to have you guys.

The DTC guys will be happy to show you the ropes. I wish I could join but just to early for me.

Th west coast event will hopefully be done by 11:00 pm pacific time.

Thanks. I'll see what I can do. I should be able to at least participate in the first race if that's ok

@danfurey
Take a look at the Tuesday Night Touring Car Series that @GGGMotorsport runs if you are looking for some good racing on Tuesdays.
What is the PP and track for Sunday?

Im currently full for the first season of TCS but Season 2 starts up in a couple weeks (2/10) and should have room. Would need to sign up soon though to secure a spot for next season.

Ok cool, I'll look into it. Looks a bit intense for me. You can't even talk! I dunno about that. Do you guys do anything for just ****s 'n giggles other days?

The main reason for the mics off is to help with room stability. We run with 15-16 drivers every week and this has helped with eliminating the disconnects on race night.

Not sure if anyone was planning on coming out for the West Coast meetup but I am shattered and will not be able to make it. I will be there next week. Sorry guys.
