I assume that you are playing on the PS4. Is that correct? Has it been easy to find full grids online? There are some things Im not a fan of
- Im a big fan of race cars over street cars and the majority of the cars are purpose built race cars
- The visual and sounds are the best so far
- The AI is actually not that bad to race against although I would prefer real opponents
- Not having to grind for credits. All cars right from the start
- Track list is strong. Getting back to some of my old favs from my Forza4 Days (Road America, Sanoma and Catalunya to name a few)
- Ability to adjust camera angles to help with getting the right feel
- Being able to remove the cockpit driver and wheel from the cockpit view
- FFB is some of the best I have used to date.
- Physics feel right to me
- Period correct tires. The only tires you can use are those that were an option for the car when it raced/built
- Saving and having multiple pre-defined pit strategies
- Separate fuel and tire ware settings
- Although not a bunch of cars (compared to GT), what is there is fantastic
All in all, Im really enjoying the game. Its not plug and play and it does take some time to get used to it and all the settings but once its dialed in, its fantastic.
- Can force stock settings for online lobbies
- No "timed" races
- Can force mandatory pit stops and or tire changes (can work around that though with tire ware settings)
- Cant use the wheel and DS4 at the same time to navigate within pcars
- Currently cant use my Fanatec Porsche GT3RS wheel (having to use my backup csr wheel) until they fix it with a patch
joe, project cars is a pure racing game. It's more pure racing oriented where "stock" doesn't even appears on it's dictionary.I'm in tonight. Haven't raced in 3 weeks
Seriously considering PCars. But I don't have a compatible wheel nor the money to sink into one. Maybe I will wait until fall when hopefully all the bugs are ironed out (and I have cash flow again).
The lack of street cars is a big turn off for me though.
Racing is racing no matter what type of car you use. I like racing, of course, but I play games like GT because they allow me to visualize what it might be like to drive cars that I have always wanted to drive. As far as i understand, for real racing fans, and real i mean race Cars

I will change the dates. Will people be able to race next weekend?Dang. Postpone? Tcrash is out too due to sickness.
I think you mean PDIsland.PD land
If I can get some time today I will test a little bit. I'll try Brands Hatch GP with the 890kg and give you a couple lap times. If I can get a solid hour of play I will test and tune some of the other cars there as well.Did you guys do any testing? If so what do you think of the cars. I might bump the weight to an even 900kg as that allows a few more cars. Still at 400pp so the cars would have a few more HP.
If the cars require tuning then I am definitely out. I can barely scrape together enough time to drive a couple times a week...now I have to tune them to go fast?Joe, thats the difference between pcars and GT. PCars is more into the real concept of racing with real race cars that have to be tuned and properly set. GT is into a much more overall kinda thing to fit every racing style for everyone.
Sounds like our series wouldn't work then unless we left all cars untouched. @GGGMotorsport already mentioned that online rooms can't be tuning restricted so we would have to rely on each other to not tune the cars. While I trust all of you guys, that wouldn't be the case with new members who wanted to join up.Joe, thats the difference between pcars and GT. You can do that in pcars? Can you see the weight of everyone's car in lobby? That may solve a few things. The spec b world challenge will try and discourage tuning by adding weight to anyone that has a clear advantage. So go fast and you get weight added. The goal is close hard fought battles in cars that are easy to drive.
thanks. No I think he was referring to his idea with the smaller cars posted a few pages back.
It will be really easy for pCars to prohibit tuning if they choose to do so. I bet they will as people clearly want to be able to do.
See? This is a true Granturismo player. Project Cars takes you off the "streets", fits you in a real racing team with a real race car and all the needs it takes to be there fully competitive. If the cars require tuning then I am definitely out. Just give me the keys and let me take it to the track. I can't be bothered to have to have it on the lift half the time.
but some of us just do not care about race cars and love to see how we compare in identical cars and as Joe has said not all of us have time to spend tuning. It is nice to just jump in a car and drive.See? This is a true Granturismo player. I agree. We're not talking about what's best or worst but pointing the core differences between the two.but some of us just do not care about race cars and love to see how we compare in identical cars and as Joe has said not all of us have time to spend tuning. Remember GT bills itself as the real driving simulator not the real racing simulator
