Has anyone tried racing through the new community features? Is it like the old GT5 lounges?

I've only used it by myself a few times, I have no idea if someone else who is a club member can join the same room or not.

If @jobyone creates the room within the Community section, will we be able to enter the event and race it without him there?

I saved one last week for Spa in there....see if you can load it up like you would in a room you created and saved the settings.

I'll give it a shot after work. From my computer, all I see is last week's DTC event which is closed and under your name I only see a Tokyo TT event which also closed.

It's easy. Any member can create an event in there. And only members can race in the events since it is create within the club menu.

Was last Tuesday's race through the Community or just a straight-up friends' only room like usual?

As usual but not friends only. But now I know how to run the club dealio but wasn't sure if all of us were in the club yet.

my understanding is you can make the club events wither public of club only is that correct?

I want to start a little competition. This will be open to any member of the club. If you are not a member of the club the id is 1005073. It will be a Time Trial event. The first event will be with the:

DTC Time Trial
Week 1 - Complete

Lotus Europa Special '72
@
Ascari Full Track

The car will of course be stock (PP - 411, HP - 132, Weight - 730kg) and will run on Comfort Medium tires. The event will run from Wednesday - Tuesday. I want to keep this short and sweet so would like people to accept the gentleman's agreement that they will only spend 20 minutes on the time trial with no practice. This combo was chosen by me of course and I have not run the combination.

The person with the fastest time at the end of the event will get to choose the next event (no testing). The only guidelines on choosing the next combo is that it be a different drivetrain and different class (based on PP). Tires will be 1 harder than the car comes with from the Dealership. the classes are:

Under 401PP (A)
401-450PP (B)
451-500PP (C)
501 and Up (D)

I am thinking of keeping score for a possible prize. I want participation to count as much as fast lap so I am thinking that you get 1 pt for taking part. You get an additional 3 for 1st, 2 for 2nd and 1 for third. The participation bonus will increase for each consecutive week you take part. So if you have run 4 week in a row you get 4 for taking part of your 4th time trial. Missing a week resets your participation bonus.

To run the event you need to do the following:
1. Go to the community section and go to the DTC Club (Club id: 1005073)
2. Go to the events and click on the current Time Trial
3. Create a room from the Time Trial event. This will create a room with all the correct settings and restrictions
4. Once in the room start the Race (Time Trial). This will give you 20 minutes to set your time
5. Once the event is done save your replay. Your results will automatically be posted to the event comments.

I hope you all like the idea.

So i pick the car go to the track and run for 20 minutes. Then save my fastest lap. Correct?
correct. I am still trying to understand how the time trial events work in the Club. I created the event and it will be open Wed. I assume we can all run it from in there. The question is does it keep track of all our fast laps and allow us to save them.
