Guys, I could really use some driving help. I am working really hard to get faster, but its a bit depressing to see someone put in five laps and turn a 1:17.5. I tested all six of the available cars. I chose the one that I thought drove the best. I spent three hours tuning it. My lap times at Silverstone International circuit are currently in the 1:20's.

Am I at the right track? Was the 1:17 run online with all of the event settings? I have been running with the exact race settings, running the 15 lap races and I can only run consistent 1:20's, even in the rain up to 15% surface water.

Can anyone offer up some driving advice?

I think most people in the mid 17s are just running with tire wear/fuel off. They'll be in for a rude awakening on race day.

Are you not running wide at the Chapel crossover?

I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling, especially seeing a more talented racer. I touched 1:22 flat and have a bit of work to do. My times were online and still not a lot of laps put in. I will try zeroing camber and toe.

I recall during a period in GT5 that toe of +.3 was greatly reducing tire wear, but the specs of this car doesn't factor into this.

I was turning in 1:17:4 offline with realistic settings (no driving help) but online with @jsjakesaid we were only able to turn in 1:18:4 at the best the car just felt really slow in the straights .

All the times we've been reporting were from online sessions with tire wear and fuel on. Being offline, there's currently still no option to run with tire wear and fuel on, which explains your quicker times offline.

That's why carracer's still the fastest cat out there with a 17.7 (or was it 4? don't remember) on low fuel. my best is a 17.8.

Don't forget to cheat @ the Chapel crossover. It's worth many tenths. Other than that's it's just all classic momentum driving. Like, don't lift off at Abbey I think I only blip down to ~75% throttle then flat til village, brake bonkers late let it scrub speed on entry... back on the throttle early, barely brake at all for the Chapel cut, trailing throttle in, flat out. Then stowe is the tricky bit; it's worth ~1/2 second to go in hot and then trail brake when the corner tightens up to point the car inside then ease the power on as early as ye dare. Vale and club a pretty straight forward.

Just stay in a line as much as possible don't zig zag and if you need go a bit wide before the straight.

Yeah, I already brought it up; and I know for a fact instructors will tell you to stay inside the kerb also... but online it's not possible to police so RT is letting everyone molest that exit tarmac like an alter boy in the Vatican basement.

Yes yesterday we had those on... i made the settings precisely to the given specs
BDW: great shots... just one thing that i couldnt tell u yesterday... the exit from stowe, i'm not sure you can go on the green kerbing unless you have at least two wheels on the red/white kerbing

Damn thats strange, today no problem to sign a 1:17:7 online physics are weird .

For the stowe exit most of the time it was because I was a bit over the limit .
