Yeah, I had a great time with you in race 1. Of course, I think you were toying with me a bit. :sly: I believe there were several times you could have passed me and instead eased off and stayed behind me. And you were on 2 lap fresher tires, so it shouldn't have been that hard to get by me. Nice win. 👍 And yes, you were extremely strong in race 2 as well. I think a promotion to D1 may be in order here for quade, Phish.

Haha, I had a few reasons for not passing you. As I said before I knew you were in D1 and I had made up my mind after catching back up after the pit stops that I wasn't going to be too aggressive and take us both out. As you said I had two laps fresher tires and i knew you were going to be sliding around at the end so I figured I could capitalize on that. Another reason is quite simply I didn't want the added pressure of you being right behind me. When I passed you early in the race you were of course able to stick with me and honestly it made me nervous. I kept messing up my braking point, being either too early or too late and I think it was because I was worried about brake checking you which I believe I did at one point early on. Also I was testing out where you were faster and slower than me because I figured the second race would end up being similar. I also wasn't completely sure I could make it on fuel. I was mostly just waiting for a really obvious passing opportunity because it was really my first time racing you. I knew you were quick of course but I've come to learn from a different series that just because someone is quick doesn't necessarily mean they pay very close attention to the cars around them. You're right there were a few spots that I could have made a move but they would have been risky and the risk just wasn't worth the reward as I knew I had the D2 race in the bag as long as I didn't mess it up. So yeah, anyway I had my reasons. I was content to ride behind you and wait for the perfect opportunity.

Its a challenge for you :sly:
It certainly will be and I'll practice and should still be competitive. It's a good track for me, just not a good car. Not that I'm complaining, the variety is great and is a big part of what makes this fun.

The results for D1/D2 room are being sent to the supercomputers at ORNL for calculation and will be forwarded to the ph1sh man for posting soon! Good racing last night thanks to all who came out to GVSR with us. Congrats to @quade420 for your promotion to D1! Very fast racer you guys in D1 better watch out! Grand Valley has always been special to me and I love the M3s so this was a fun race for me. Thanks guys for your patience with the merge. See you in Japan!!

No worries man. Race 2 was a good one though.
I may or may not have turned the last few laps into a drift competition only for myself

I was actually wondering what you were doing since you were ahead of me by a lot then all i saw was smoke coming out from your tires!

Just ran on Suzuka East for the first time. I didn't realize how automatic it was to accelerate out of the Dunlop curve. I'm calling it now, I'm going to drive straight into those tyre barriers this week hahaha.

My pit early strategy bit me, I tried to make sure I stayed wide to let you by, haha. I was on 4's and 5's by then and decided to have fun with it rather than get frustrated trying to have very delicate throttle control on a DS3.

I know what you mean about having someone right behind you. I still worry as well after years of online play about accidentally brake checking a guy (I like to use the slow in, fast out strategy) or missing my braking point, allowing the other driver to get under me in the corner. The pressure of someone you know is very close in speed or faster than you can be intimidating. Also I don't know how many times I have caught up to someone slower, gotten around them, then a corner later, because they're very close to me, taken it in too deep and slid off. Then I have to begin the process of chasing down said driver again. I believe I got into the back of you once (unless is was Severn in the second race, I can't really remember) at the chicane after the first turn. I think, for me, it was not anticipating and checking up in time, usually something I always try to make sure I'm careful about. All was good though. I had good, clean racing fun with you. 👍

Starting This Saturday, All Divisional Rooms will be Friends Only Room, So make sure you FR the Steward Hosts for this saturday.

Turtle Racing League - Announcement

Over the past months, PD has gave all of us struggles with DC's and we are trying everything to avoid them. The stewards are continuing to pop suggestions, but once PD cleans up their act and fix online, i can almost garentee you that racing with TRL will be 110% Better!

In fact ALL LEAGUES are having the problems that we are. some are wanting to disable chat, we have discussed that but then if we did that then it would be harder to communicate to have you all race

I apologize if we are the only league out there with this problem. We are always looking for a way to improve your experience with us. We dont want you to show up 1 week then be gone. We want you to show up when you can show up and have a great time and have a lot of fun

Never get discouraged by the lap times or whos beating you, Run your own Race by that i mean run what you are capable of, how much can you push the car on that track. We want you to improve weather its like @RacingOtaku86 where he learned quick when he first joined and got promoted to D1 right away, or like @BustedFoSho or @Socket68 where it takes time to become better but they are always improving every race even if they dont notice it. I cant guarantee you will be the fastest driver in the world from this experience but i try my best to make sure you are getting better. Making sure everyone feels home here.

Again, Hope you consider TRL a blast!

Sincerely, Turtle Racing League

TRL is a blast!

I race other leagues, but this one is my favorite for sure, we have a great group of respectful drivers and a great race format,i always feel right at home.
Don't worry about connections problems Phish, it's a GT6 problem, not TRL. And i actually experience less problems here than any other league, but we can think in new ways to improve these flaws PD gave us.

I will take this moment to say just one thing that, in my opinion, should be changed: Road cars should always use road tires, even with more than 500pp. Racing tires on road cars gives me a strange feel. But again, that is just my opinion and i wanted to know what you guys think. :)

Looking forward for future turtle racing, thanks for the hard work Phish!

Finished last on both races at D1/D2.
Was happy for achieveing laps around low 2:03:xx. Leaders were reaching 00s or 01s.
Actually I could keep the pace with the pack at the tail, but some mistakes made fell behind.
Nevertheless, can't compalin as I finished the race withing the leaders lap.

First of all @Ph1sher I commend you for resurrecting the Turtle Racing League. No need to apologize for PD's shortcoming. We just have to enjoy and make do with what we have right now.

I always run my own race and try to improve without worrying about the place I end up in. There are courses that I can be fast but a lot of courses are a challenge for me. Slow and steady just like a turtle seems to work for me!

Sorry couldn't make it. I couldnt make the race, the connection to RacingOtuka's room always failed and couldnt join. :( I was so pumped to race after 1.5 month lay off.

feel free to post pictures of last saturdays race as whenever people post pictures of last weeks race i always put them in the results

Thanks

Working on results at the moment will be posted anytime today

Edit: After i post the results, ill update the Drivers List

I agree Leo, Slicks should be reserved for Race cars.
