That long curve is what's allowing me to keep up. And get away. :) Where you still there for the last race? That race was interesting.

No i wasnt able to make it to the second race. Something came up and had to leave half way through the first race. Had a good battle with you ANFD and LateNight before leaving. Was able to get in the low 37s by the time leaving. I was at 41s on my first lap of the night in qualifying. But ill get there and run similar laps to you come Saturday. ;)

Just remember not to go to quickly through the esses or you'll understeer and ruin the next corner. Also, brake really late on turn 1. The hairpin and left hander have a lot of lines. For the left before the chicane, try starting far right, turn across at 75m, and then brake at 50m, and try to make that later and later without understeering too badly. Hope this helps.

I'm sure you will. ;) Ought to be one heck of a race.

The esses for me is on lock down and i can stay on pace with everyone. I just need to work on my last third. The last tight hairpin is where i lose the most time. Still working out on a good line there and a good breaking point. I will need to change my brake setup. Always do seeing how its only thing we can adjust. I tend to trail brake and having it setup too high will mess things up for me.

Most seem to shoot wide in the chicane. You'll be coming in usually at 75 MPH (126 km/h), correct me if I'm wrong. And you'll have to dig your inside tires in the dirt to get the best possible speed out of that chicane. You'll be at 66 MPH if your lucky. Usually around 62. As for the braking point, I don't use really any brakes, just a slight tad, and should start braking right after you finish the turn before. Other wise, lining up for the next turn, which is a split-second. :) Hope this helps in some way.

Definite thanks goes to racingotaku for hosting the last 2 practices:tup:

...even if he does run a very tight ship:P

The main thing i learned tonight is that the Toyota 86 gt or whatever it's called can't keep up. It's at least 2 seconds slower per lap. It's an understeering Turd without a tune.

That's why they're called "TURDyotas" :mischievous:

On another note: Received my new Elgato Game Capture HD today and had some difficulty getting it to work. Had everything hooked up correctly and the PS3 configured correctly, had the software and drivers for the program downloaded correctly but still couldn't get a picture on the Preview Screen on the laptop. It was capturing audio just fine, just no picture. Then suddenly, after 10 minutes of scratching my head, the picture suddenly appeared. I did a quick test recording from a replay I had saved and it worked great. This was about 15 minutes before Practice started. I had everything set up and started recording the race from the very beginning. I was doing well and having some very close quarter racing with a variety of guys, thinking the whole time, what a great race video this will make. Then, about lap 4 somewhere, the video simply went away as mysteriously as it had appeared. Still had audio as before, but with a black screen, it was hard to stay on track (needless to say). That ended my race and ruined what would have been some good footage. I reconnected the PS3 back to the original HDMI (not the Elgato pass-thru mode) and made it back for Race 2. It was a cruise at the back with very little excitement other than a short battle with gr8racer. I saved the replay and will see if I can get the Device to work again and get a decent race video.

On the plus side, I created a new YouTube Channel to start posting the new capture device videos that I will be making. I'll upload a couple old 4 and 5 year old videos just for grins and giggles to whet your appetites in anticipation of what's to come.

@ANFD that's awesome man! Whenever you have any turtle racing league videos, ill make sure to promote them in our gallery thread!

Oh and everyone, if I'm correct anfd said he's going to try to make a turtle racing league intro video for new comers to watch on the O.P if I'm not correct, whoops

Thanks Guys!

Just got home and did the 1.03 update I was getting confused why it had not worked so I had to check out the forums..and got it.

UPDATE ...... Here's a link to my new channel .... http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5ttl8atXBIJf0wCzl0y7mQ

Also, I did manage to extract some excitement from the Practice Race 2 replay and will start the editing process tonight. It's already 2:35am so not sure when it will be done  The Grand Intro to Turtle Racing will be a work in progress after I accumulate some inventory of video to draw from.

Hope the link works :scared: (be sure to watch everything in 1080p)

Moe, i think the last braking mark(50m) for the hairpin should be the perfect braking point. But you always have to keep in mind your exit speed from that long left corner. Try braking between the 100 and 50m mark and work from there, to do that hairpin with that car, just make sure you have the right entry speed and hit the throttle(100%) before the middle of the corner. With full throttle you won't understeer, you will feel the rear wanting to slide but with low torque and SM tires it won't , so you will have a fast and neutral exit.

Edit: and help me on the esses cause i hate it! :)

I missed a lot of good racing last night... I got disconnected during the 1st quali and just called it a night by watching the Toronto Raptors lose to the Boston Celtics (NBA teams for those who don't watch basketball).

Anyone up for practice tonight? I was doing low 1:38's last night before brake-in and I hope I can keep up with the fast div 2 racers! What are the usual lap times?

High 1:36's to low 1:38's. Mid 1:35's if you push your car, but that causes your tires to scream.

Edit: What time you doing practice?

Does anyone know of a step by step guide in layman's terms of how to post pictures on our forum?

1. save your photos in a thumb drive / USB drive or whatever you call it
2. upload it to your PC
3. Upload the photos in a photo hosting/sharing site like flickr
4. If you use Flickr, click share then copy and paste the BBC code (640x480 is preferred i think for forums)

I'm up for a practice tonight. Wife is going out of town, so after kids are in bed I intend on putting some serious time into this event...

I started editing the Practice Race 2 replay footage around 2:30am and finished it at about 6am. It's a 1.25 GB file so takes about 8 hours to upload and I have to do it in the wee hours when we go to bed when the connection isn't being used, so it won't go up until tonight and won't be available till tomorrow morning (Friday 2pm GMT). As my first attempt with this new capture device I had a lot of hard lessons to learn and the end result leaves a bit to be desired. Without going into too much detail, it was wise to start with the practice race as it was also then a practice for making videos with the Elgato and I know many things now that I didn't when I started. The race video on Saturday will be much nicer and better, I promise :dopey:

I did add another older video last night while editing on my dedicated editing PC. It's from a 10 year old PC game and created by recording across the room with a standard video camera. Turn up the volume and set to 1080p :sly:

When I've posted pictures, I don't go to all that effort. I save them to my PC, then "Upload a File" to add the pictures to a post.

I hit some 1:35's in the BRZ... but I was practicing solo and my tires would not withstand 28 laps of that kind of torture... and also I'm not D1 :P

Im not D1 anymore and wasnt at practice Wednesday, but im running 1:35.0's. Car is not broken in though and probably wont be for the race.

^^ Sounds like Div 2 is going to be lively Saturday. You two should of been at practice yesterday. Both races were on fire the whole time.

Well, I'm definitely practicing tonight in order to really decide whether I'm going BRZ or FR-S...
Initially I'm faster in the BRZ, but it all comes down to sustainability and consistency... the BRZ is looser so will I be able to run 28 laps back to back of clean laps? ...or should I wuss out and go FR-S because it'll be cleaner :P
