I think it's 99/1570/4300. I think, didn't see this post til I got to work. I was hitting 82moh at the top of the hill. I was up in that sector but would lose everything in the hairpin
@HSAXET What was that gearing you were running last night? I'd like to give it a whirl if it's different from Tex's initial setup.

If any help for testing... I did use 4300/1640 when I did that 1'52.8. It's kind of short gearing - lot of red line driving.
I'm not sure what gearing I'll be using. I'm testing more tonight before going to sleep and then weakup middle of night (or early morning).

BTW; When the room open - 8.45pm est? Is it about 9 hrs from now?

@HSAXET Are you able to host tonight?

Yeah, that should be right @jammy21 8:30ish EST somebody typically has it open.

I'm updating the spreadsheet with new Monaco gearing. (Shhh. I went faster.)

At Motegi I tried 4.300/1264 - cruised around 97-98 in straights, lost 1-2 mph in corners, and I think there was a bit more speed to be had in a draft. I am running a few practice laps now so I don't end up driving by myself all evening.

Can someone post what the gear settings/top speed will be for the senna kart tonight for each track we will be racing on thank you.

No sir... I'm gonna be pushing it to get home in time to make the first race

I forgot to ask before, but better very late than never. Since we're running Senna's DAP kart today, I believe everyone should use the special suit you win from his karting days as well. That's the one I'll be using tonight.

I was wayyyyyy off pace tonight. Was 7 seconds off pace at the first race even with the correct settings. Couldn't get above 94 MPH even though i set it at 99 MPH at high speed ring. Was 8 seconds off the pace at Indy road course. I don't know if it was me or the senna kart. No matter what, i couldn't get above 94 MPH top speed, I did both rebuild engine and updated the kart.

Apologize for leaving the last race but i couldn't keep up with anyone up front no matter how much i tried to draft. Kart got up to 99 MPH at Motegi but it seems like the head packs were going over 100 MPH. As i said, i don't know if it was me or the kart itself but seems like the kart wouldn't cooperate.

Thank you again for good races
Senna kart was fun to run - little different than PDA's karts. It has more feel to it - softer suspension or something. I like it.
See you again when I get break and have chance to join you :)

First off, allow me to apologize for my mishaps. I had a couple mistakes that cost others' positions. No excuses, just driving errors. Done.

Considering this was our first race with the Senna kart I think everything went quite well. Some gearings we got pretty close, clearly we did not for HSR. That really sucked. I honestly felt like turning it off after that one, but that wouldn't be very sporting.

@racingchamp30 Dont' sweat it. First off, Monaco is hard. Gotta carry a ton of momentum to be fast there and you need every inch of the track to do it. Those guys at the top are crazy fast. At Motegi I was a tad over 100 in the draft. Went into turn 3 in 2nd, finished 8th. These things pack race VERY different than the pdi karts.

BTW Here's my gearing if that help for future track testing when using Senna karts.
-Azur: final 4300 / 1st 1627
-HSR: final 4300 / 1st 1320
-Indy RC: final 4300 / 1st 1448
Point is to use RPM's so that you get max out of the power (torque/hp). Best RPM is 16000-18000.
Also it all depend your speed round the track to optimize gearing for it.

Tonight Azur was one that gave me most enjoyment - I love that track because it's so technical and demanding. Indy RC was ok. HSR and Motegi were just for fun.

Thanks a ton jammy. Good info!

When I was practicing Monaco early yesterday I tried what you posted in #332 but I didn't like it at all. Although I agree with the theory of keeping in the best rpm range that the car will be in throughout the majority of time through the lap, I struggled with that final gear. Now I don't know the true mechanics of a kart, but it seems to me the taller the final is, the less the kart turns. (the final seems to act just like a differential). It also seems to not decelerate as well. Maybe it's driving style, more than likely just the fact that you are far more skilled and have a finer tuned ability to find the speed no matter. What I ended up doing was altering the combination of the two ratios such that the overall was the same but the final was "shorter", then fine tuned the first for a bit more top speed. My best lap practicing was a 52.1 on a 1.480/4.62 and I'm quite positive there was a sub 52 capable with the setup if I could manage to put it all together, but I'm not quite that talented.

At any rate, yes that was a VERY fun race. I was very excited to run it and had a blast

I used final (4300) as I had used it in GT5. When I tested in GT5 all PDA karts accelerate little faster when final was 4300 (minimal) and using 1st gear as needed. I have not noticed any difference in the turning ability when using different final gear - but that just me and my driving :)

In Monaco (Azur) my quali time was 1'51.1xxx and in race most of my laps were something round 1'51 - few laps 1'50.x (if I remember right - not yet watched the replay). I was happy with my lap times and I was happy that I didn't make any mistakes.
Said that I have to add that when you break free from draft (drivers behind) and run alone you can use all the track and optimal driving line - faster lap times - that happened to me in Monaco and Indy RC races.
