The first two are a lock. I want to let Handlebar finalize his pick and not sure if chatva will choose or not.

I will finalize the list Sat. morning so that'll be the cutoff.

Sounds good - I have the house (and the PS3!) to myself tonight.

OK - NOT Circuito de Madrid. Testing a couple, brief carpool run, then testing a couple more.

Done - Twin Ring Motegi Super Speedway

@chatva Yes sir. Senna kart (it's a 100cc)

@Handlebar The Senna kart turns a lot of rpm's and just keeps pulling. I was working on the gearing for Indy yesterday and set the top speed slider to the highest position and still had to adjust 1st gear by .100 shorter to make use of the revs.

The Senna kart is a bit tighter than the PD karts. You can get much more aggressive with brakes and steering angle.
Then let's go to the south of France!
I'll pick Cote d' Azur!

Although I do agree that is a lot of wide open racing, I do not want to start micromanaging the track selection process.

Indianapolis RC
High Speed Ring
Cote d Azure
Motegi Speedway

I just wanna test Senna kart and not sure yet if I'll be there in when shifters are in use...
In this week tracks only Cote d Azure is one that give me some challenge others are too wide and easier to run.

So... maybe I'm a bit late to the party here, but I just realized that the transmission gearing that the auto-set creates, changes depending how the final drive ratio is currently set. For instance, If I have my final set at 4.62 and move the slider to 99 it gives me a 1st gear ratio of 1.285. However, if my final is set to 4.52 and the slider is moved to 99, I get a 1st gear ratio of 1.313.

I think we all should try to get into the habit of talking about "1st and final" and not so much about the auto-set number.

I'm european and I want to turn right also :embarrassed:

I don't much care for NASCAR, I like BTCC.

I guess this group just wants karts on road courses. I hope the grids are large enough to race with others - not just hot lapping, regardless of which way you turn...

Thought DIGZEH had picked brands hatch GP 80's version ???We practiced all night last night...

Indianapolis RC

1: It is my belief that this group enjoys all types of tracks. As long as I've been running here we've always ran 3 RC and 1 "oval" every week. So one week in 6 months we get 2 "ovals"... I don't feel it's that big of a deal. Monaco is super technical and should give everybody a good fix for their road course desires.

2: I posted at 9am yesterday MORNING that the first two tracks were a lock and I wanted to wait on Handlebar and Chatva to make choices before going to the backups. I also stated clearly that I would finalize the lineup this morning.

I realize not everybody keeps up with the thread the same and I probably jumped the gun on announcing backup choices as I wasn't sure if Handlebar and Chatva were interested. Going forward I'll try to be a bit more decisive on matters I'm given to handle.

You are doing a great job. I was just confused. Just gotta put in some more time tonight. I got closing duties on Tuesday night. So we'll need a host. Will probably be sliding in right at grid time for the first race. Looking forward to the racing. Really like the Senna karts. Am thinking they would give the 125 spl a run for it's money. Possible dual class racing....

Practice Karts - Friends Only

I assume you probably worked on Monaco gearing? I worked on it for a short while this morning and ended up with 1.867/4.520 at about a 2 minute lap (2:00.8) with a bit still left on the table.

Ooh. I was wrong, left A LOT on the table...

Anybody up for some kart practice today? Tex did some gearing work and the road course trans suggestions are up on the spreadsheet. We probably should work out the Speedway gearing anyways.

I did last night some gearing test and here's my times (5 lappers and best of)
-Indy: 1'57.3
-HSR: 1'35.3
-Azur: 1'52.8
-Motegi SS: -

Well, goes to show how clueless I am about gearing these things. I had it geared to top out just before the braking zone coming down from the casino. I though 1:57.0 was quick. Ha!

Keep in mind just who your talking to up there. Finland?

Just saying. Finland, the land where Formula 1 and Rally drivers are born.

I coulda swore I read or saw somewhere that Finland has some of the toughest driver training for teenagers in the world.

That's good. We don't do yadda for our kids here. I plan to put mine through a defensive driving course when the time comes. Just so they can have something to fall back on... just in case. Lord knows I've driven away alive on a couple of occasions. Those were the days I most appreciated these games. Saved my skin.

Take em out and have em wreck of few dune buggies and dirt bikes. That's how I did it in the deserts and mountains of SoCal about a million years ago.

Senna Kart Practice - Friends Only to keep the Public Shifters out.
Closed - Good practice tonight.
