Season Selection Process

In an effort to improve the series, the Season Selection process will be changing starting with Season 4 voting.

Going forward, voting will be in two parts.

Part 1 - Car Selection:
  • I will provide three cars to choose from (including tire compound and fuel/tire ware setting to be used).
  • I will also list the 7-8 potential tracks to be considered for next season (these tracks will be voted on in Part 2 to determine the schedule).
  • Number of votes cast per driver will be the total of races you participated in (same as current process).
  • Drivers will have 48 hours to vote for a car.
  • Car with the most votes win.
  • In the event of a tie, the Individual Series Champion from the most recent season will break the tie.

Part 2 - Track Selection:
  • Once the car has been selected, I will then put the tracks up for a vote.
  • One "vote" for a city track (will provide 2-3 tracks to choose from)
  • Three "votes" for the other tracks (will provide 5-6 tracks to choose from)
  • Number of votes cast per driver (for all four votes listed above) will be the total of races you participated in (same as today's process).
    • If you race in all 8 races, each of your votes will be worth 8 points
  • Drivers will have 48 hours to vote for the tracks.
  • The top city track and the top 3 other tracks will determine the track selection for the following season.
  • In the event of a tie, the Individual Series Champion from the most recent season will break the tie.
This still allows me to ensure we still have tracks that meet the series requirements regarding multiple pit strategies yet allow the drivers to have a say in the track selection process based on approved tracks to chose from

If you have any questions, please let me know

Below is a preview of the upcoming potential combos to chose from for the next season (Front Wheel Drive Championship). After tomorrow night's races, you can place your vote (Race Car selection), via PM only, for the race car to be used for next season from one of the three listed below. You get 1 vote for each race you participated in during Season 2. Voting will remain open for 24 hours once the official gets posted in the forum. Part 2, track selection, will go up for votes once the car has been selected.

Going to be a fun season in these cars.

I didn't get to do much testing and I didn't do much racing in Season 3, so I'll just let others vote and enjoy whatever you guys pick. All three cars are fun.

I would still encourage you to vote when the process opens After the racing tomorrow night. You earned the right to vote.

There will be a public room open all day today from 3 PM ET until Midnight at least. Please feel free to join in and run some laps. There will be races later for people to determine fuel strategy.

Look for [SNAIL] RCS Practice Room. It will be at Spa all day. Due to the fact I am also doing the SPA 24 I will be running my Toyota for a couple hours as well.

ROOM OPEN: 1472-4711-0167-3384-0500

Oh I'm a happy camper!!!!!!!! We can now place a number and paint the 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 Race car. Now if only PD will allow that on the 2012 Audi R8 LMS ultra.

Goes to look at long term schedule to see where I could fit this in!
Season 8. European Cup.

Additionally, prior to anyone joining the lobby (KOQ or Main), please clear your cache to help ensure quality connection. Thanks

Clear Cache. Never done that. Can someone explain please.

Main Menu > press start > go to Options > go to Network > go to Cleae Cache and say yes.

Not sure exactly what it does, but it's along the lines of clearing out memory to speed up online communication speeds / minimize lag / reduce risk of visibility issues.

Just for the hell of it, here are all the tracks that have night racing:

Apricot Hill Raceway*
Circuit de la Sarthe
Daytona International Speedway
Matterhorn
Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit
Nurburgring Nordschleife (We will never use outside of the All-Star Race though)
Spa Francorchamps
Twin Ring Motegi Road Course
Willow Springs International Raceway

*Can be used with cars that don't have lights. Every part of the track is lit to some degree. The darkest part is in the esses at the start of the lap but the apexes are lit so it's fine. The esses are lit under a yellowish light while other areas have regular lights and the long left sweeper is fully lit. It looks really cool.

Because street courses means no runoff means naturally less clean racing when mistakes are made?

Asking/discussing I guess. I didn't know you always put a city course in each season. Why won't you use those SSR tracks? Just curious.

Brnt, the way it was explained to me is, "it erases the history of ones online experience".
Every time we go into a lobby, data related to it is stored somewhere..the cache I guess..

Just for the hell of it, here are all the tracks that Parcells will never ever race on:

SS Route 7

or is it route 11??? whatever track it is that goes on for miles and miles and miles with roughly 2 turns. The boredom would literally kill me.

Well, my Force Feeback motor finally took a dump and now I am in search of the ever rare dual shaft 550 motor for Fanatec wheels.:banghead:
