Very good and clean racing. I liked it. I would like to join you again even though this was very early morning (or late night) to me.
You were supper, watched the replay at the ring and was so amazed at you Smooooothness!

I just now realized I was in the "faster" room. I hadn't looked at this thread since about 8-ish. It was frustrating being completely out to lunch.

Thanks for the pictures @Rallywagon got the results updated 👍

Without further adieu, the prize winners are:

@Dragonwhisky
@carracerptp
@Handlebar

We're racing the 100's next week, keep that in mind when picking a track for next week :)

I'd like to toss an idea out there that @chatva suggested, except I'm going to tweak it just a bit.

This will only apply to the fourth race (Oval) of the night. If we have drivers that are well behind the field at the half way point of the race, we'll do a one lap caution. If everyone is bunched together no caution. Basically, the leader slows to pit speed (50mph???), does one lap and then restarts the race.

This will give anyone that falls behind a second chance and reason to stay in the race 👍

What do you think?

Another idea @Dragonwhisky and I have had is to move the X.2014 Junior into the rotation. The first week I'm thinking of doing this would be February 25th. It's a really fun car to drive and I think it's not so overpowered that it's undriveable, but does require some fast reflexes.

What say you?

From the climate in the secondary room last night, I'd say both suggestions would be well received. It was suggested that on the oval races that we lower the lap count, however, I like the idea of a caution lap half way through, we could have used it for sure. And there was lots of chatter about running the x2 Junior, seems most are in favor on that front. This was fun enough, I may have to sleep deprive myself every Wednesday. Now if only we could get something going for tonight.

Since I won't be racing at all next week, may I pass on my prize to the next person, designated by @kcheeb?

I'll try out some tracks later today.

I'm 👍 for the X2014 Junior as well.

As for caution laps, Yes... but given that we have issues at times with racers hearing/having to type, what about having two ovals at the end, and just essentially cut them into two shorter races? Instead of 11 laps, do a 5 lap and a 6 lap race? If leaving at full length, then just set a protocol on who decides on Cautions, how to start the Caution, and how far into race/how far from end the Caution needs to be (Lap 9 of 11? Lap 10? Lap 2?), and I'm good with whatever makes more fun for more drivers.

Wasn't sure if you'd want to pick when not racing, went with it anyway :)

@Rallywagon you're up for a track choice for next week 👍
Really?! Wow! Only the third time in my SNAIL career! Ok, gonna do a little looking and testing I think, but it shouldn't be a hard choice, considering the poor little things that will be putz around with us all in them.

Okay, we'll be putting the X2014 Junior into the rotation on February 25th 👍

Let's try going with one yellow flag at the halfway point. It can be called for by someone that's lost position and the room Director will confirm a caution will be happening and on which lap it will be happening on.

The caution can be called for by anyone that has lost position, regardless of why.
Must be called for before the halfway point of the race.
Will last for one lap, whereon the racing will commence.
In the case of an odd number of laps, the caution must be called before the end of the lap that is the rounded up value of the halfway point of the race (now my head hurts, this is why I hate rules :D).

11 lap race, caution must be called for before the end of lap 6, lap 7 would be the caution lap.
10 lap race, caution must be called for before the end of lap 5, lap 6 would be the caution lap.

Make sense?

So... Typically, when we have enough racers to justify a second room, is the "second" room generally the slower guys? I would certainly be a better fit there when it happens.

Handlebar. I'm gonna grab some karts and create a room. Got some ideas I wanna make sure work before picking my track.
Ok, got a room open. 1472-6118-3787-3249-3437
Gotta say, I am not pleased to see so many tracks excluded from kart racing.
Ok, my selection is Gt arena forward, at night if permitted.

I ended up giving my son a "kiwi injection" over several school and scouting issues. Still not done yet, and I am (unfortunately) not fit for pleasant company at the moment. Looking forward to Karts - anyone know how to change frame rate or something similar?

The Arena kills me with what I call a choppiness on the transition of the horizontal lines. Makes me a bit dizzy. Is there a slightly reduced graphic setting - and how to find it / change it - to make movement smoother visually, I would greatly appreciate info on it.

Thanks!

I read somewhere you can reduce GT6 output to 720P, I think. It may be in the GT6 settings or XMB. Like said, I've read about it. Haven't actually investigated it further to use it.

I read in a tread that some PS3 just play the game worse then others. A guy has 4 different models, and none of them played the game the same. Some would clip more then others, some would experience worse frame rate drops, etc. at first it appeared it was model dependent, but after a bunch of varying reports that people started to report it appears that it is just system specific, meaning that even between two ps3s of the same model, they both can have varying performance and performance issues. Someone (DW?) posted on the main thread about something that can be done that might improve performance for ya. Not sure who, where or what though.

Not really. I just remember seeing that post and acting on it myself and responding as well. Stumbled on my post looking for something else and reffed it here.
