I had a ton of fun tonight! Loved SS5 the most, you can feel the highway expansion gaps with the buttkicker and that amazed me. You can also feel the cobblestone in Rome. See you all next week!:)

PS, sorry for crashing you out on the Oval Vail.:indiff:
That was my bad, I'm very sorry for being out there with the wrong gears!
Have a great week gentlemen!:cheers:

I just gotta say that qualifying at SS5 with the new lines and the taillight of the redbull kart was TRIPPY! I am still smiling about it:dopey:.

I never got around to turning the names off. Needless to say I struggled due to so much onscreen clutter. I am not a fan of the lines in quallys. I mean.. what's the point of qualifying alone with all that crap on screen?

I forgot to turn that crap off also... I just stopped on track at the beginning of qualy until everyone moved on and then resumed my run.

S.N.A.I.L. Weekly Kart Races Prize Winners

Without further adieu, no wait a minute there will be some adieu, I have something to say before we get on with the announcement.
Things seem to be amping up around here again, and I'm not liking it much. I've noticed a number of things, people more intent on winning than showing respect for other drivers. Drivers not being aware enough of what's going on around them and causing mayhem. Drivers making bad decisions on when and where to pass.

Racing to your limit is hard enough without adding uncaring or unknowing drivers into the mix.

The last line of the OP is, 'Because you want a nice relaxed atmosphere to have some fun times.' This was my major goal from the get go and it's where I want to get to, all the time. I know we do most of the time, but things ebb and flow, we're in a flow now and I'm determined to get it the ebb out of Dodge.

To that end, we will no longer be keeping score, just keeping track of who raced with us on a given night, so I can choose the prize winners.

Everyone needs to understand that I am very serious about each of us taking responsibility for our actions and ensuring that we all can have fun racing Karts. When racing, always, always, always ask yourself these questions:

1. Where is the guy behind me?
2. Can I really get through there without contact?
3. Where is the guy beside me?
4. Are there 7 laps left for me to make my move?
5. Where is the guy in front of me?
6. If it was me, would I appreciate the move being made there?

Now without further adieu, the prize winners this week are:

@jammy21
@Dragonwhisky
@HSAXET

Remember, we have a whole bunch of new tracks to choose from and we're in the 100's next week.

I was on both ends of this last night, but I would like to add.

7. Will this rumble strip upset my kart beyond control.

Kcheeb,
I certainly hope that my "unusual success" last night in Races 1 & 2 were not because of any lack of awareness. (as you described) With only having one screen, and without being able to expand/magnify the track, I depend on listening for any car that is approaching on my left - and then make a lane for them on the inside of the approaching turn.
Really don't want to use the "behind the car" view - appears more like a game then.

My comments are not directed at any one person, but all of us. If we're all a little more aware and make better decisions we'll all have more fun.

Mistakes are going to happen, no doubt. It's the avoidable contact we need to take care of 👍

@kcheeb I am quite guilty here and hope your post wasn't based upon me, in the first race (grand valley east reverse) I got a really good start as did @AJKVail, I gave him two AWSOME! Hits on the straight then backed off to follow into turn one.
Where is the guy in front of me?
Thought I was backed off enough but at turn two, hit him and he went straight off!
Never intended that, can't figure how it happened as I saw a car length between us or so I thought.

@chatva again it was not directed at anyone. It was directed at all of us.

We've all had those moments to one degree or another. If it is brought up enough people may become more aware and hopefully the incidents drop.

I totally understand the refresher.
Sad to see points go away though. I was kinda proud of my 4th place even though this was the first time I've actually bothered to look. To my knowledge I didn't take anybody out to achieve that.

Curious.. do most of you guys use the "bumper" cam or the cockpit cam? All throughout the weekend I did all my practicing with the cockpit view (a change for me). I seem to be more comfortable as "rotation" seems more natural and predictable from that vantage point. Then come race day I realized... Hey! I don't have a static rear view anymore! That kind of sucks (although it's realistic). So the point being.. what exactly do the colors of the indicators mean? I think it's obvious that when they're red there is somebody occupying the track next to you. What about yellow and white though? When it's yellow does that mean somebody has a nose in or is their pace suggesting they will soon be there? White... a nose in?... in the "blind" spot but not beside? Just trying to understand the details of that system.

I think the colors indicate proximity. White being farther and red being closest.

I too wish the points would stay... Racers are gonna be racers. We just need to understand the point that two karts will always be faster than one. So instead of racing that guy to the end of the straight push him or let him push you. Don't run next to someone... You can't see each other like we used to. You only gotta lead the last inch of the last lap... All in all it was a fun night... Not near as much carnage as in the regular night rooms... So... My vote is to keep the points... If not we just become that kid's soccer league that don't keep score. And believe me them kids know who won when it's all over...

So for SnG's I checked out Matterhorn Short since quite a few of you seem to enjoy it. Phew... That's a tough little track! Not sure how it would race. Extremely line sensitive it seems.

@kcheeb I give my prize away, because I don't have time for karting at least few weeks.

Things that make ya go hmm. Maybe he'll be in Australia this weekend and then over to Italy for some business? I know who you are Mr. Jammy21. You ain't foolin me none. :sly: :D If I were a betting man, I'd bet Jammy won't be back until at or after July 20th or so and then off again late August. That's my prediction anyway.

Couple of pics from Room 2.

The last lap at Motegi. Pretty close finish and a RickyBobby finish line crash to go with it.

Fun night of racing.
