Thanks to all the stewards who stepped up this week. The entire league owes you guys a huge debt of gratitude. Reviewing that many incidents could not have been easy (or fun). So thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

The results post has been updated with to reflect all of the penalties applied this week. And while the penalties certainly had an effect on the prize winners this week, there was something else that had an even greater effect..

Simply put, there was error in the scorekeeping for D3 on Sunday night. The results for Race 2 or Round 2 were entered into the wrong column so all of the D3 racers only got points for 5 of the 6 races. This explains why all the D3 scores seemed abnormally low! Yes, the racing was close, but we should have known these scores were too low to be correct. I take responsibility for not realizing that earlier. :ouch:

All that being said, the prize winners are now drastically different that the one previously announced. With the scores corrected, the D3 winner (ONESPACE) went from being completely out of contention for a prize to winning Prize A. As far as Prize B is concerned, penalties have resulted have knocked a couple of would-be prize winners out of the mix and now Priest8 is the new Prize B winner!

Congratulations to ONESPACE* and Priest8!! Please announce your selections as soon as possible.

* - I realize that ONESPACE may not be racing in the league again. If he forfeits his selection, Prize A will go to driver who finished directly behind him (Schmiggz).
Sorry Everyone for my mistakes Sunday night. That was my first time scorekeeping in a very long time. I'll be sure to get all the info into the right columns next week. Odd that I did it again and didn't catch it. I had done the same thing to the finishing positions just the race before too. Sorry again guys. :dunce:

Prize B Selection : I will be keeping the Countach around, and I will figure out what track I choose once I get home after work tonight, but no worries on changing/breaking in cars, I love that Countach...

I will try to pick a track that doesn't make the Countach so squirrely for some people. I noticed on Sunday at Trail Mountain that some people could make that car stick and slide very well, but when people couldn't, they really couldn't. I think it is the bumps at that track with that car that upset some peoples driving style.

complaints are weak, unless blatantly intentional.

so can I only view these replays if ived saved it myself?

Complaints are far from weak. they are what help separate our league from the drama of the open lobby. It is the check and balance system that we use to make sure our lobbies stay clean and don't break down into a demolition derby, which can happen fast when tempers start to flare.

Awesome! I do love that car. Interested in seeing the track choice you make. laguna or high speed ring would both be a blast in it I think.

Laguna would probably result in similar racing to Trial Mountain due to similar elevation changes. High Speed Ring would be fun for sure!

Based on the (far too many) replays I saw, HSRing would be better than any twisty/elevation craziness.

Unless of course, Litzner is volunteering for Steward duty with another impending flood... (Wink)

Actually I think it sticks well with elevation changes, at least it does for me, I ran that car at Eiger Norwand Short Track, and to me at least, it feels like it is running on a rail. I think it is all about the bumpiness of the track which was giving some people issues.

The only problem I had at TM with the countach was the first crest after the first tunnel before the sharp right, that car did not like full throttle through there at all.

You were the exception for 'on rails' in the Lambo, at least in D5 (and other divisions had challenges there as well). The bumps in the track on Trial Mountain are a known, but challenging hazard, depending on the car. I am gladyou mentioned you noticed the challenges will weigh on future considerations.

Still, it is your prize, your choice. Enjoy the freedom.

Good luck!

I struggled all over with all of the cars really. Though, I am fond of the lotus. I have to say, I am a bit surprised by the fact that the lotus combo has stayed intact this long, and that the s2000 combo lost out to the lambo combo. Especially given peoples distaste for lack of grip.

I love the Countach too. Was probably the first supercar i fell in love with when I was a kid. But eould rather race the 25th anniversary model. Looks way more badass and handles better.

So if someone could help me out with a question! What exactly is the probation(what happens)? For the 2 months I've been in I've seen people get probation and never actually understood what exactly they do! I know the real-life meaning but what does it mean in S.N.A.I.L.

When you are assessed a penalty, you are put on probation for a period of time commensurate with the penalty.

While on probation if you incur another penalty, it will be doubled. If you receive no penalties during your probation period, probation is lifted.

Make sense?

Thanks for the explanation, cheeb.

Dragonwhisky, any chance you can add a short blurb explaining probations in your next steward report?

Hello Guys,

I want to join the S.N.A.I.L. League.

Thanks.

Hi GTP_Rberinghs,

Thanks for your interest!
We would love to have you in the league. Here's what you need to know and do in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the S.N.A.I.L. OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You run the Time Trial. (NOTE: The tires selected for this have more grip than our current tire regulations allow, but please follow the directions exactly anyways).
2. You PM kcheeb with your time from the time trial (no Sunday racing until this is completed).
3. We assign you to the division that we feel will give you the closest competition. kcheeb will add you to the drivers list.
4. We send you a you a PSN friend request from the corresponding SNAIL_Division1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 account. That PSN account's lounge is where you will race on Sunday night.
5. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

The original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.

Please note that we often race DLC from three add-on packs:

Racing Car Pack
Course Pack
Twin Ring Motegi Pack

If you don't have these add-on packs, you will need to sit out the races in which they are used.

If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.
To avoid duplication, the currently claimed combinations can be found here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.

Welcome to S.N.A.I.L.

It's been suggested a few times before that we should move Wednesday night's official practice back one day to Thursday night. This week is probably the the best example yet of why this might make sense. The stewards had to rush like crazy to review all the incidents this week and there was some confusion on prize winners as well. All in all, we're only a few hours from practice and we still don't know the new lineup. :ouch:

I have been against this move in the past, but there also some new things to consider. For example, Performance Cap Racing doesn't race on Thursday nights anymore, so helps to clear some space on the calendar. Also, Owens told me that he'd be willing to move his new series to Wednesday night instead of Thursday night.

Another benefit of moving practice back one day is that it would enable the prize winners wait for the OCD to refresh before choosing their car. It'd certainly be nice to have a newly selected car be in the OCD for a full two weeks after it was selected. That's never been possible before. Anyways, please let your opinion be heard on this matter. Thanks!

Affirmative as to the Thursday practice.
Or, as they say in West Texas, "Yep".

No to Thursday. We should hold practice the morning after league night and force winners to make their choices before 1AM ET. Then if the winners are eventually penalized, their choice automatically becomes the '66 Volkswagen 1200 at SSRX.
