With this is mind (I also have it pre-ordered) what will be the plan for Dec / January as far as formal racing.

We ought to be thinking ahead.... 3 months will pass by quickly.

Possibly some test races to play with room settings and learn the new features during the month of December and then a full schedule starting the first Sunday in Jan. 2014. New year, new game.

We've discussed this before and at this point setting an absolute date is not possible. Just not enough information, yet.

We'll likely end up polling S.N.A.I.L.s after GT6 goes live and when we hit a critical mass, we'll make the switch.

There's a pretty good chance some of the during the week series will jump to GT6 before the Sunday races do. That will also be a good gauge for us to help make a decision.

I can see the first Sunday in 2014 being a potential date for the cut over, but again we'll know more as we get closer to launch date. And it won't be a secret, I'm sure there will be lots of discussion about it :)

Another suggestion would be to have one person oversee SNAIL on GT6 and someone else continue to oversee it on GT5. It would probably require division restructuring.
 
I'm inline with bowlers thinking. I'll be getting it day one acres won't look up, except for sundays.
 
Where do we "Pre-Order GT-6"? I have looked at our thread, and searched GT Planet, without success.

I'm surprised at the difference in the offers between Amazon and GameStop.

Amazon is offering 4 vehicles and $1,000,000 credits "on any vehicle upgrades."

Gamestop is offering up 20 vehicles (including same 4 from Amazon), personalized paint chips (??), helmet, race suit and avatar, as well as some app, but no mention of credits. Looks like the value of the vehicles is way above 1,000,000.

Putting my order in today.

That would be a pretty lame upgrade - one stripe - in light of what for Forza 4 apparently could do.

The limit on what you can do in the editor in Forza is the number of layers you place on the car and your imagination. I will be very disappointed if GT6 doesn't get somewhere close. They also need to get rid of the paint chip silliness, but that's not happening.

I like how NFS does it with unlocking paint styles (matte, metallic, etc) rather than individual colours.

Did you know that the Merc 190E Evolution was originally built to comply with FIA's production standards for rally racing?! The season before they were to start, just after they finished development on the car, Audi and Peugeot both introduced AWD cars and Merc pulled out. Instead of scraping the program, they revamped it for touring car racing. Did pretty well too.

And, with all of this GT6 talk, I thought I would just put this right here. Aerodynamics and Online features.
 
At the very top of my wish list for GT6 is for them to finally consider tuning brake balance, well.. tuning! In other words, when the a room is set to 'Tuning-Prohibited', don't allow brake balance to be tuned. That is all.
