Dont we have thread penalties? I firmly believe schmiggz comments were unnecessary. And not a reflection of this league and most of its members. We penalize and or ban people for there poor decisions in a race. I think this should carry over to this thread. We have lost an asset to are league due to someones comments. If you do not like a car or track. Do not bash someone for there choices, just dont race in it. Something should be done especially since this is not his first offense. Ok im done.

Pretty sure zer0 is keeping score.

I understand schmiggz passion and love that he has it 👍 It shows he cares and that means something to me.

But directly lashing out at someone for something they have a right to, to me is not on.

Some responses I would have been totally cool with:

Wow is this car going to be hard to tame. I'm having a heck of a time with it in turn 2, anyone have any suggestions?

Or

Holy crap this car is hard to control in turn 2. I've got a challenge ahead of me. Anyone want to hit D1 so I can get it sorted out?

Or

Man Harley, you laid a challenge out there for me. How'd you manage to keep the car pointed down track in turn 2?

Yes, thread penalties will be given to Schmiggz. However, I want to be clear that they aren't for his complaining about the combos. While his complaints were certainly over the top and um.."dramatic", they didn't necessarily cross the line IMO. What I believe crossed the line was when he brought an apparently pre-existing beef with HarleyMan (from non-S.N.A.I.L. races no less) to the thread. There's no doubt the way he complained wasn't cool, but the other stuff is what escalated the situation past the breaking point.

Please don't over react and start coldwar on the tread. You better stay low profile like everyone , its not a place to make publication on people. Schmiggz you know better than that and a lot of people like you so give a example of a Veteran with humbleness.

Kcheeb and zero put so much time and effort to make this league run smoothly and while we're all complaining about a combo, they're doing things like making sure results are up to date, they have to input all drivers data, combo data, and policing the thread all at the same time. I feel like sometimes we take these things for granted, without these two, there would be nothing that we look forward to every Sunday night and I doubt we'd of ever met each other and we wouldn't be the racers that we are today.

So thank you Kcheeb and zero for making this community and keeping things somewhat under control.

While that's certainly one solution, I most definitely wouldn't call it an "even better" solution. To me, an even better solution would be for you to take ownership of your actions and realize that this isn't a personal attack on you. The reason I had to say something is because this isn't the first time you've mentioned someone by name and publicly attacked them on the thread. There is absolutely no possible positive outcome when that happens and usually something negative happens (e.g. one or more people will quit the league).

Rather than you playing the "you think you're so cool" card, why not consider that I have a responsibility to everyone in this league to ensure that this thread doesn't spiral into a drama-filled soap opera. While losing you over this would sadden me, I have to look at the big picture and enforce our rules to ensure a positive future for the league. If drama can destroy friendships and even families, it can most definitely destroy sim racing organizations. For example, did you notice that DBeav12's club closed it's doors recently? Guess what? Drama is one of the things that brought down.

With that in mind, do you think it's in our best interest to welcome drama to our thread or should we try to nip it at the bud? Again, this is not a personal attack on you, Schmiggz. I'm just doing what I feel is in the best interest of all of us, not just what's in the best interest of any one individual. I hope you understand someday. Thanks for reading.

Okay, with this episode of "As the SNAIL World Turns" over with (I hope), I would like to reintroduce my idea.
Tonight I will not be streaming the races. Instead I will be recording them live. So starting when the room is reset for the first round of qualifying, I will start recording, and end/start recording somewhere inbetween races. Through the rest of the week I will go around and promote the feed and try streaming again next week.
