Well I'm thinking if this were to be the last combo of the month and on reverse grid 1st and 2nd in overall points are in last about to be lapped by the first place car. The race in the back would be more important than first in that race

now.. that is even more rare... the winner and the 2nd place to be lapped? .... I guess could be possible in this track. But again... that does not change anything... the position of the 1st place on the reverse grid has nothing to do with the position of the cars to be lapped. 10 and 11th or whatever position is about to be lapped can still 'race for position' once the leader goes by.

... in other words.. Do not get lapped!

Proper etiquette is proper etiquette regardless of whether it is the first race or the last race of the series, and regardless of who or what overall position they are in. Along with being in the SNAIL OLR as has been pointed out as well. No matter how you try to package it, the verdict is the same, if you are being lapped, let them pass. Or battle it out and wait for the penalty.

Warning! It is imperative that you make your move up-track after doing a thorough shoulder check and you must do it long before the faster riders approach you so as not to cause any uncertainty in which line they should take

• Any driver who is about to be lapped may not deliberately block or race the lapping driver, and must allow the lapping driver to pass at the first safe opportunity.

Deciding on whether a car is lapping you or racing for position
During the race, a blue flag in GPL indicates that the driver behind is about to lap you. The blue flags are usually reliable when shown and therefore should be obeyed unless you have good reason to believe they are wrong. Blue flags do not always appear however; thus, any driver has the responsibility to be aware of the status of a following car regardless of flag signals. There are plenty of indications as to whether the following driver is racing for position or is lapping. Ignorance is no justification for unnecessarily holding up a lapping driver.

Trade Places: when someone attempts a legitimate pass, you give up the position willingly to maintain momentum and then attempt a re-pass. The fun of racing comes from the strategy of choosing passing points and capturing opportunities.

For someone who just loves to berate others for not testing combos or picking one and dones, this is probably the ultimate "do as I say not as I do" moment. I assume this combo is going for the ultimate record number of votes. Second place might only get one or two votes total

I disagree. This is a fun combo in my opinion. I think you will get varied opinions at the end of the day. It will certainly be a challenge, that's for sure. The only negative comment I have is that my right ankle is going to be sore from being in the "lifted" position for much of the race but for what it's worth, I like it. I'm running solid 32's so I hope that's fast enough to avoid getting lapped

Exactly what I was about to say. There is no way to tell unless you have every single driver's color memorized and can see it in your mirror; provided you use a view with rear view mirror. I know some don't.

Running with mics on could be a solution, but that might cause lagging and disconnects if you have a full room. I think I'll just try my best, keep a clean line as much as I can and let the fast driver make the clean pass. Giving up a place because you dont know if you are lapped or chased sounds a bit crazy. IMHO

It's cool how the preferences differ when it comes to car likes/dislikes. Is take an NSX over an Elise any day.

Would you rather miss braking points and run into the guy in front of you because all the damn names are blocking your view? The names are going to be a huge issue simply because of the size of the track...those names will never go away...the corners are so close together that names from two corners ahead will be blocking your view of your own corner.

Suggestion about lapped cars - if everyone is going to play honestly we could get the guy thats about to do the lapping to flash his/her lights or sound the horn? I've changed to have the virtual mirror constantly displayed whilst in "bumper cam" so I would probably see someone behind me flashing me to let me know they are trying to lap me. I know not everyone uses this though (I just changed to it the other day to save me mapping a button for rear view)

hmm...although if you do have a button mapped, when used it should give the guys name behind you above them, in which case you should know they are coming up to lap you. edit- but then again not everyone uses names either...no good solution for this

The horn thing would get abused by someone just trying to get an easy pass. You should know when you are about to begin to be lapped, because of your split times. After that, you should be fairly aware of who is directly behind you and in front of you in terms of positions, because of existing battles you've been in.

That's one position, but what if you are in 9th place out of 16 drivers? You and 3 guys are battling for that 9th spot but after 18 laps, 1st and 2nd might be coming but you have no idea because there are 7 guys behind you on the lead lap...no way to tell when you add two more cars to this fray.

I really have a hard time believing that there will be so many lapped cars... but.. it is a possibility... I'll be watching from the grand stand.

I always thought that term was a bit of an oxymoron. I mean, common sense really seems to be a lack of good sense.

We can all sit and dissect all kinds of phrases/terms as being wrong, but at the end of the day we all know what is meant by it.

And for the record, I don't think i'll personally have any problem with being able to tell if a car is coming up to lap me. Others have already expressed they might, and I was merely putting out a suggestion that is a little more helpful than 'just deal with it, I can'.

@MartinJohn88 - I'm guessing that a microphone for the lead driver is the fastest/easiest method, if connections allow. If first place is coming up on someone, and says "Leader coming up on Fibber McGee" or "Leader coming up on lurid purple car" or "Handlebar about to lap #44" it may work. Even that system has plenty of flaws, I agree.

Without a mic, you hope that the guys getting lapped have memorized the numbers or different colors in their division so they know who's who, but to be honest, I think it's going to be awfully difficult to tell who's who and what lap the guy behind you is on. We've been told there is room to pass, so it must be there.

Whatever the conditions, do your best, no matter the combo. It's a game. I'm not going to get hot and bothered by anything that's likely to be brief. Even if it isn't going to be brief, this is still a game. We can vote our views on Sunday night.

well this looks exciting for this sunday. and for the lapping cars if your running in the back you know the leaders will be coming. and for practice night maybe keep the rooms too about 12 drivers or practice with the division you will be running on sunday.
