Hi everyone, some of you may know me already...

I would like to say that I'm interested in joining SNAIL Racing. I hope I can be part of this great group of racers.

@lapierre4

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!

Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You take the SNAIL OLR and Racecraft Test

2. You run the Time Trial and submit your information by 23:59 EST on Saturday night if you want to race this Sunday.

3. @JLBowler PM's you with your assigned Division that we feel will give you the closest competition. You will be added to the drivers list.

4. SNAIL Administrators will reach out to you via a GT Planet conversation with further instructions on joining the SNAIL [Spec] Racing club. Sunday races are organized exclusively through the GT6 Community features within the game. To find your assigned room on Sunday please follow the steps below:
  1. Go to Community, from the GT6 My Home screen.
  2. Select Clubs
  3. Select SNAIL [Spec] Racing
  4. Select Club Lobby (on left) not Club Events
  5. Find your division room #, select it and join.
5. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.

6. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.
If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

Just saying... IRacing isn't free per month, and the cars don't cost 'credits' you earn by driving. It is real life credits called "dollars" and they want $5-$10 per car. So... Crazy? Depends on your budget - total, or monthly? They are $20-$25/month if you get one new car every two months or so.

To each their own, it just isn't a matter of "free" (programmed to use) use of wheel vs buy a wheel for "X" dollars.

Sim racing (especially without recurring fee) is by far the cheapest way to get a racing fix. I also race rc cars (or did until life got busy) and the money there can be ridiculous as well for what it is. I would gladly spend $1000+ (and I intend to eventually) at one time to race and practice as much as I want in the comfort and convenience of my own home. Dime for dime the best investment for a race fan without significant extra income and significant extra time. Just my 2 cents..

All I want for Christmas. Price ? If you have to ask you can not afford.

I have two 1/8 scale buggies and I hear ya :)

Why not just buy a car and race for that price? The range of cars you could buy and race for that much is pretty wide.

I agree whole heartily. Absurd amount of money. I just wanted to show some of the extreme rigs out there. Now when you want to spend around a grand for that new rig and your better half has a melt down, just show the above and explain what a great deal you are getting.

It is absurd how much some rigs cost, but for the most part, the ones that might spend that much might use it as off track simulator training.
