The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - Nissan R33 GT-R V-Spec '97 (SM) at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya National Layout - S02 Evening (11 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @DublDee wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - RUF RGT 4.2 '16 (SS) at Autodromo Nazionale Monza - S02 Afternoon (8 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @CANOWORMS1 gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @A_Higher_Place so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated, so picking cars and/or tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more important is that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select must not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in a draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to choose the Integra Type R as your car selection, post "Honda Integra Type R (DC2) '98". If you want to select Monza for your track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". Being specific helps us to update the lineup accurately and also helps avoid any confusion among the drivers. Also, please be sure to list the HP and Weight (LBS) of any car you select. For track selections, include the time of day (e.g: 09:00 Clear) or else it will be left to default.

Race Date: 18 August 2024
Currently tracking 2 Incident Reports

We have at least one prize winner with a racing incident being investigated by the stewards. This may, obviously, change the order of the prizes to be selected. All winners are asked to refrain from making selections until the Weekly Steward's report has been posted.

The target deadline for the Steward Reviews, this week, is Wednesday night by 10PM Eastern. The Steward Summary will be posted as soon as possible, following completion of reviews.

:@: SNAIL Stewards, please make your way to The Incident Review Scoring.

The IR Submission Form is now closed.

I'm sorry I missed Sunday night, but given the circumstances, I'm sure everyone understands. My nephew is physically ok now, but now comes the task of getting him some mental help, which isn't as easy as it should be, especially for a teenager.

Thank you all for your understanding and prayers.

Life itself comes first and family. Great to hear he is still there and can get any help he needs.

Love to hear it. Family comes first.

I hope you can find something accessible and quick - though those two don't go hand-in-hand so easily post-covid. As someone who works in a mental health agency, I can vouch for that sentiment that it is a severely undervalued and overstretched service no matter where you go. The need is high across the board.

Suicidality may complicate the situation as counsellors bare the burden of higher responsibility for clients who are at risk. However, it's not impossible to find help. Something to consider may be a group psychotherapy setting to go alongside individual psychotherapy. Groups really help with normalizing the feelings of hopelessness and helplessness.

Also, I hope you and your nephew consider virtual counselling for easier access. Always ask your (future) counsellor what their credentials are and who they are regulated by. If they are unregulated, run for the hills as they are not sworn to a code of ethics nor minimal practice standards. I'm sure it's slightly different state-by-state, but be aware of who you're connecting him with is all.

AND, don't rule out the option to seek out a psychiatrist to include the medical route into their care. A combination of medication and psychotherapy as been proven to out-do medication alone and psychotherapy alone (circumstances depending of course).

My heart goes out to you and best of luck!

The stewards have completed the necessary reviews and this week's prize winners are clear to make their selections. Good racing!

Prize winners have changed as follows:

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - Nissan R33 GT-R V-Spec '97 (SM) at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya National Layout - S02 Evening (11 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @DublDee wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

Round 3 - RUF RGT 4.2 '16 (SS) at Autodromo Nazionale Monza - S02 Afternoon (8 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @racingchamp30 gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @A_Higher_Place so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Prize winners, It's recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Hey @DublDee
We are in Moose Jaw taking a break. I've been lied to all these years. Saskatchewan is a beautiful province. Nothing boring so far. Apparently you guys are very modest and don't promote the province enough.

There are a couple of spots I want to put my drone up on the way back and shoot some video.

Moose Jaw is one of our favourite spots to go for a long weekend. We stay at the Temple Gardens Spa there where they have the natural mineral pool(half indoor/ half outdoor) and they have an excellent restaurant. Moose Jaw is a very historical city, where there’s actual underground tunnels from Al Capone’s time in the “little Chicago” in Saskatchewan.
If you have a drone and you’re down on the south end of our beautiful province you should check out the Sask Sand hills and pretty much anywhere along the South Sask river.
Also Drumheller AB would be provide some awesome drone footage.
Save travels bud

The tunnel tour of Moose Jaw is worth it. We stayed at the Grant Hall Hotel, a wonderful turn of the century establishment. I loved the southern most highway, #18 through Climax, it gave me a rush. 😁

And Now…..The moment you’ve all been waiting for!! Or not, Lol.

The last time I won prize A I was sort of cautioned about using this track, but this Sunday we’re throwing caution to the wind my friends!

PRIZE A Selection
Ford Sierra RS 500 Cosworth ‘87 on SM (507PP)
NEW in the UCD
Eiger Nordwand S02 Evening
Mid Division Lap Time 1:17

Backup Car:
Fairlady Z Version S(Z33) ‘07 on SH (525PP)
Mid Division Lap Time 1:17

With the Cosworth being New in the UCD I really hope we don’t have to use the backup car, cause this car is an absolute blast to drive here!

After a hiatus of a few months, I'd like to get going again with the group! Hopefully can join a few weekends over the next few weeks. Or specifically "I have read the first post and would like to join" (again)
@arethosetacos

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!

Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add zer05ive, JLBowler, nmcp1,llNovall, Akzl298 & Dragonwhisky
as participants.

The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL
