I will be racing tonight.
Do we watch for a room number?

Yup, room numbers for each division will be posted here on the thread about 15 minutes before race time. 👍

I'll be racing tonight.

Thanks! Are you able to host/direct for like you did last week? In fact, we're still looking for D1 GM is you're up for it. :sly:

I will be racing tonight as well... If we find ourselves on the crowded side tonight, I will also help with setting up and running any extra rooms. I think between 'beal and myself we should be able to cover a D3 and D4.

I will also be racing on the 22nd and 29th as well!

How do I change the oil in all my cars at
One time? I know I saw it on the thread but cant find it. Also my new colors are chameleon blue with blue wheels. And my number choice is 9

You can't actually change the oil on all of them all at one time. The process has been sped up by doing this.
1. Go to the Pit Service.
2. Change the oil in your current car.
3. Hit the Start button on your controller
4. Select Car Selection.
5. Select a different car.
6. Back out to the Pit Service main menu.
7. Select Change Oil
8. Repeat steps 3-7

I will be racing tonight.

Yes. Alternatively in the main online lobby/server list area, check the box for friends and if any of your friends are in a room, it will show up and you can join that way.

I will be racing tonight. As for the 22nd and 29th, if nothing changes between now and then I will be racing those nights as well.

I'm racing tonight.

I've often thought that there should be a prelim check in for Sunday. It sure would be easier for the Race Director to know who intends to show, especially poignant when Q is about to start and a regular has announced their intent to race but may be running late getting to the track. The Director may use their discretion to briefly delay the start.
It also may be a way to increase and ensure higher Sunday attendance if drivers declare their intent to race and actually show up they could be rewarded with... a point, point multiplier, trip to Disneyland... something.

I'm in for tonight. I will also be good to go for the next two Sundays unless something unforeseen occurs.

To answer some recent questions. You can only change the number on the base models and PD created race/touring/rally cars. Any car with a real life livery can not have it's number changed. I'm sure it has to do with licensing agreements.

Changing wheels is acceptable for Sunday night racing. As a general rule of thumb, if you can change it and enter a tuning prohibited room, it's ok to change it. Any aero or body mods will keep you out of the room. Wheels, brake balance adjustment, and torque split (on cars that are adjustable stock) will not keep you out of the room.

It used to be the case in the early days of S.N.A.I.L. that you had to give 24 hr. notice if you were not going to show up or risk division relegation.

My Color ID:
Green Paint, Other shade of Green for the wheels # 43.
Hope no one has picked that :)
I am in D3 and have picked a green body. So just make sure it's not the same green or try to make it a noticeably different shade. Check the official color list.

So that we can get a better idea of our grid sizes tonight, please post whether or not you plan on racing tonight. It would also be nice if you can state your plans for the next two league nights as well (December 22 and December 29) since those are around Christmas and New Year and there may be a few of you out of town etc.

I will be racing tonight and will back to conducting my divisional duties. I also will be racing the 22nd and 29th.

I will be racing tonight and every Sunday here out.

Please all SNAIL's type in the box upon room entry "SNAIL RACER"

This way the room host will know instantly you are to be there and no accidental boots

I'm in for tonight if I get home from work early enough, and if it's for testing. I've only been online a couple of times and feel I need more practice with GT6.

Did Dodge paid Chevy to design the front of the Viper? I guess they could only afford to do the back ...

And a mini Tribute to a Rally Racing Legend:

You sure on that? I know it is frowned upon, but I thought relegation was only done as a means of division leveling, never as a punishment.

Wolf, if anything I would say that Vhevy stole the front end from Dodge. Though, Ferrari I think is a more likely victim. The new Viper concept has been around longer than the new Vette and its concept. I also noticed that Chevy is starting to copy Fords look as well, especially the back end and headlights of their new Malibu and Cruise.

Doesn't look like I'll be able to make it tonight. :( Was really looking forward to the first GT6 night but life got in the way.

BTW does anyone have experience with owning either an Evo X GSR or a STI? We're going to go from 2 cars down to 1 soon and I'm thinking I might get one of those 2 cars but am having a heck of a time deciding.

If staying stock. Subaru. If you wanna go fast. Evo. ;)

And I'll say if you want a car that does AWD the best, and will run forever, get a Subaru. Evo is a FWD converted to AWD, Subaru was designed as an AWD from the get go. I've owned two scoobs, my impreza wagon had over 150K, no issues other than the typical wear and tear. And my current legacy wagon is about 20K shy of 200K and still running on the original, untouched engine and trans. Mind you, I do not treat my cars nicely either. Much like DWs shirt, ever time I'm in a car, I am qualifying. Or racing. And its winter, and we just got a ton of snow, so its also always a rally race too.

I've had a 2002 WRX since it was new, and there are generally 2 issues to look for:

  • Head gaskets. Some years are worse than others, but many subarus sometimes eat head gaskets. Ask if/when they've been replaced, and get a compression test done. Obviously, check the oil for moisture and the coolant for oil. I've had no issues in 110k miles, but not everyone is so lucky.
  • Timing belts. They're supposed to be replaced at about every 60k miles, and I wouldn't put it off much longer than that. It's easy enough to do yourself in a day if you're comfortable with that sort of thing, but runs into the $1000+ range to have it done, partly because you'll want to replace the water pump and any other parts that wear while you have the timing cover off.
I'll leave the question as to whether an STI is better than an EVO to someone with less...bias :D

Yes, this was done when we were promoting and relegating weekly. I sure miss those days, NOT. As we were moving drivers weekly, we could 'back fill' when needed, if we knew. As with a few of our ideas, we landed on something better.

Currently, letting us know if you're not racing is more of a courtesy. We have set Divisions for a month and seldom go below 10 per Division, weekly.

This week is a bit of a mystery in terms of predicting Division sizes, however. There are a bunch of people that haven't raced for a bit and are still S.N.A.I.L.s and we've seen growth from new members 👍 If the stars all align, we could be packed to the rafters.

And that's a good thing :D

Huh, I don't remember it working that way, but my mind is befuddled and cloudy. I don't remember much after a week or so. So I stand corrected, sorry for doubting ya Bowler.

That's what I've heard. I test drove both last night but and the only thing I don't really like on the Evo is the 5 speed. It's at around 3800 rpm at 85. I guess that's not a big deal except on long trips but man does it rev. I tried the MR with the twin clutch gearbox also but it seemed laggy on the shifts and made me think I was driving an automatic.

The reason I'm looking at these cars and most likely getting rid of my Z is we're probably moving to NY in a few months. I've debated this in my head for the last few days and it's a tough decision because I really like my Z but I need something that has more space for things since we won't have the wife's WRX anymore. I want something I can have fun on the track with and can daily drive also. I'm leaning towards the Evo but it's a tough call. BTW for those in the cold parts of the world if you have cloth seats do you wish you had heated seats?
