Technical director ruling:

At Sllverstone International the rumble strip will be considered the edge of the track. In the absence of a rumble strip, the white line will be the edge of the track. In the absence of a white line (as shown below) draw an imaginary line from the intersection of the two white lines next to the car to where the white line straightens out. That imaginary line will constitute the edge of the track and as the S.N.A.I.L. OLR states, you must keep two wheels on the track surface at all times.

Please note that the green or solid red painted areas behind the rumble strips or white lines are NOT part of the rumble strip or white line. Additionally, you should never make contact with any object that is outside the racing surface. This includes cones, pylons, brake markers, foam blocks and any other object that is placed outside the racing surface.

Thanks for the pic fastfox440

Right, but you are still able to get 4 wheels over the white line without hitting the cones. It is tough to determine if that is supposed to be the track limit as it is clear that there are several turns in that area.

I mean come on guys, I'm not Crider.

The ruling is at the top of this page. I edited because it was a top of page post and therefore easy to find later.

I've been wanting to join S.N.A.I.L. for a long time. How would I get in on the fun, Zer0?
@CarCzar,
Thanks for your interest!

We would love to have you in the league. Here's what you need to know and do in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the S.N.A.I.L. OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You take the S.N.A.I.L. OLR and Racecraft Test

2. You run the Time Trial and submit your information.

3. @kcheeb PM's you with your assigned Division that we feel will give you the closest competition. kcheeb will add you to the drivers list.

4. The Race Director or Primary Host from the corresponding SNAIL Division will send you a PSN friend request. Sunday night you will need to sort the online lobbies by friends and join the lobby named 'snailracing.org Division_1, 2, 3, 4 or 5' based off your placement from kcheeb. That lobby will be where you race Sunday

5. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

The original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.

If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.
To avoid duplication, the currently claimed combinations can be found here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.

Welcome to S.N.A.I.L.

Has a decision been made about the settings for draft and penalties?
I don't remember seeing it posted anywhere.
We'll be using the 'Real' draft setting. I don't recall anyone suggestion any changes to our penalty setting though. Did I miss something?

I would assume that the penalties would stay as they are as there has been no discussion about changing the setting on them.

There wasn't much discussion on changing the draft setting to real either. I will leave that decision to @zer05ive and @kcheeb to make at this time.

I feel my job as Technical Director is to apply existing rules to varying situations. I'll leave the changing of rules or settings to those above me.

Ninja'd by one of those above me.

The avatar was last spring break in Idre Fjall, Sweden. Thanks for the welcome, I'll get going on those time trials either tonight or tomorrow, after passing my test.

The bot in the white car right behind me, drove right through me while I was on my roof. I will say he did turn me back upright

EDIT: Oops, double post :(

I would love to join. My schedule isn't always open on Sunday nights due to work. But I should be able to make most if not all races. My Psn id is rick013 and I'm central time zone.

I would like to participate tonight if there is any spot left, did the survey, and will make the time trial later.

Time trial is a prerequisite @LeoStrop - that way you can participate in the correct division. Look for a post by @Skills to give you the rest of the skinny - and check out page 1 (posts 1&2) for most key links to get started.

reread your note for my clarity and noted...

Ah - I see you were getting ducks in a row. Keep on rolling and see you soon!

Well, this is unfortunate. Lost 1 phase of power coming into my house. Thankfully the ps3 is unaffected by the half power outage. The broken power line is sitting in my neighbors yard, under some of their tree. But, unfortunately, the cable line suffered a complete defeat further down the road, where most of a tree took that out. Oh, and part of my fence is also under a large portion of a large branch. The ice have us what for last night, and they are calling for more today/tonight. Better get some aspec time in before we completely lose power...

Important Announcement

S.N.A.I.L. Spec Racing will be expanding to 5 Divisions for this evenings races.

I will be sending out notices to everyone, once the reshuffle is complete.

Please check this thread and the Drivers List for more information in about 2 hours from now, ~13:19 Eastern time

Exciting times ahead 👍
