Post no 2!

1st one is a freebie. Next one gets a fish slap around sh3rw00d f0r3s7:)

....

Which makes me think... if you have to ask about this, I am almost 100% sure that you have not read Post No 1 which includes the heart and soul of SNAIL.

Thank you for the straight forward answer. I did read everything. Including watching all the videos. In fact I read the racing rules twice. It might be easy, after having been around here a while, to realize how confusing it all might be to someone new. btw, we don't use fish in Sh3rw00d f0r3s7 to slap sense into a new merry recruit, we use fresh saplings, the pieces we use to make bows out of. And we never swat someone when asking questions, because learning should never be discouraged. :). Thanks again, rob1nh000d

That's a horribly sad song O-Joe. Painfully apt in relation to PD and GT6.

On to business then.

I have reviewed all current incidents.

There is one incident that needs at least one more steward to review.

Cool, nice car. I drive a BMW 535d. Yes, it's a dreaded diesel but it's tuned into a bit of an M5 slayer! :D

Just got a set of these:

Should look something like this:

I have an E60 545i 6 speed and I love it. Been trying to find a nice set of wheels to put on it but with the new project car the wheels may have to wait.

A bit delayed, but I'm bored at work. So here is another installment of Mirado's Awesome D7 Recap. I really need a new name for these, don't I?

SilverstoneInternationalCircuit_20.jpg

The night starts out well, with @Rockhound18 taking the opening pole.

SilverstoneInternationalCircuit_22.jpg

There is @covan2306 leading @Piler and myself down the front straight early.

SilverstoneInternationalCircuit_25.jpg

I think that is @dcallnight in the background making up ground as I try and fight my way around Piler.

SilverstoneInternationalCircuit_26.jpg

Meanwhile @goofytyler has his hands full holding off @BayouSimDrifter and @robertomglolz

SilverstoneInternationalCircuit_29.jpg

I'm pretty sure that is @dcallnight trying to put a move on @Piler.

SilverstoneInternationalCircuit_30.jpg

@Rockhound18 successfully goes pole to checker with out missing a beat in race one.

SilverstoneInternationalCircuit_33.jpg

That's @BayouSimDrifter, @dcallnight, and @Piler fighting for the lead after the 1st lap of the second race.

SilverstoneInternationalCircuit_34.jpg

Here we see @Rockhound18 and @covan2306 battling each other as they try and work through the field.

SilverstoneInternationalCircuit_37.jpg

@racingchamp30 thought he was defending the inside line, but @goofytyler knows exactly where the edge is.

SilverstoneInternationalCircuit_38-1.jpg

But then again, it looks like @racingchamp30 knows exactly what he is doing.

SilverstoneInternationalCircuit_41.jpg

An amazing 3 wide entering the front straight between I think @BayouSimDrifter, @Piler, and @racingchamp30 as the laps wind down.

SilverstoneInternationalCircuit_42.jpg

At the end its @BayouSimDrifter, @dcallnight, and myself bringing it home behind @singlepaddy (not pictured).

CircuitdeSpa-Francorchamps.jpg

@goofytyler takes the pole for Spa.

CircuitdeSpa-Francorchamps_1.jpg

By the end of lap one, @covan2306 has already turned on the afterburners. This is as close as I can get to him for the rest of the race.

There was not a lot of action in the 1st race, so lets move onto the second:
CircuitdeSpa-Francorchamps_3.jpg

A tight pack develops early this time.

CircuitdeSpa-Francorchamps_4.jpg

@goofytyler and myself begin our journey through the field as @RebelYeller73 (does he drive a white car?), @robertomglolz, and @covan2306 try to prevent it.

CircuitdeSpa-Francorchamps_8.jpg

As things start to spread out, we see @covan2306 work around @racingchamp30.

CircuitdeSpa-Francorchamps_9.jpg

Here's @covan2306 closing fast on @dcallnight.

CircuitdeSpa-Francorchamps_10.jpg

Myself and @covan2306 emerge from the main pack with 2 to go.

CircuitdeSpa-Francorchamps_12.jpg

I waste no time making my move on @covan2306.

CircuitdeSpa-Francorchamps_13.jpg

One lap to go, two more obstacles in @dcallnight and @singlepaddy.

CircuitdeSpa-Francorchamps_15.jpg

One down, one to go.

CircuitdeSpa-Francorchamps_17.jpg

I see you @singlepaddy.

CircuitdeSpa-Francorchamps_18.jpg

But alas it was not meant to be. @singlepaddy wins the last race at Spa.

NuumlrburgringGP_F_11.jpg

I needed the pole and 2 wins when we got to the Nurb to win the season points championship. @goofytyler had the pole, but with some late shifting he had abandoned it before the 1st turn.

NuumlrburgringGP_F_14.jpg

After getting the lead, I refuse to let anyone close as @covan2306, @racingchamp30, and @goofytyler begin to battle for second.

NuumlrburgringGP_F_17.jpg

@covan2306 and @racingchamp30 were close right to the end.

NuumlrburgringGP_F_19.jpg

Starting in the back, all I have to do is win and the championship is tied.

NuumlrburgringGP_F_20.jpg

Word to the wise, don't be touching this curb when you start to break into turn one.

NuumlrburgringGP_F_21.jpg

Whew, that was close. Time to get to work.

NuumlrburgringGP_F_22-1.jpg

The next pack to get through is lead by @Piler followed by @racingchamp30 and @RebelYeller73 (maybe he drives a red car).

NuumlrburgringGP_F_23-1.jpg

Their battling allows me to catch up.

NuumlrburgringGP_F_24.jpg

Putting the pressure on @BayouSimDrifter as time is running out.

NuumlrburgringGP_F_25.jpg

At the end though it's @robertomglolz all by himself cruising for the win.

A great season from start to finish. Grats @goofytyler on the championship win!

Great pictures Mirado, great races also. Looking forward to Sunday.

I was at the quebec auto show tonight and get the chance to try a "drivg simulation" (dirt 3 was called a simulator:confused:, i had a good laugh), but it was nice to try the g27 in a full rig, but i feel like the clutg and brake were too close, i was chasing one of the fastest time of the show, but each time there was one time at least that i would hit the clutch and trow myself out of track in neutral, at full speed, i took a couple picture, will put up a lil bit later

edit, they ask me who i was for the ranking, i said jonathan from snailracing.org

Good answer, @Pifachu ! I am calling it an early night - camping in mud/snow this weekend for an unofficial Boy Scout event with my son's troop. :boggled:

On the upside, my daughter is stoked to come to the Boy Scout camping, thankfully not for the boys
(see my likely reaction  based on info below...)

She wants to see if she can shoot a bow better than the boys (maybe), shoot a rifle better than 'em (I am betting $ she does - and I don't bet), and she really wants her big brother to teach her to shoot Trap. Trap with my sawed off double-barrel coach gun firing 12 gauge. Ok, really it is learning to shoot trap with a sawed off double barrel shotgun firing epic fireball lobbing blackpowder loads. I cannot wait for the pics and video.

I guess I can see why the boys in my classroom are afraid to be too friendly with the tall, beautiful blonde girl in my class... :scared:

And they durned well better stay that way.

Got a free interwebz upgrade from Comcast. Sure wish we get an update for GT6 cause I'd like to put it to good use with my fellow SNAIL's

@twodogsgolden,
Thanks for your interest!
We would love to have you in the league. Here's what you need to know and do in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the S.N.A.I.L. OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You take the S.N.A.I.L. OLR and Racecraft Test

2. You run the Time Trial and submit your information by 23:59 EST on Saturday night if you want to race this Sunday.

3. @JLBowler PM's you with your assigned Division that we feel will give you the closest competition. You will be added to the drivers list.

4. The Race Director or Primary Host from the corresponding SNAIL Division will send you a PSN friend request. Sunday night you will need to sort the online lobbies by friends and join the lobby named 'snailracing.org Division_(x) based off your Division placement from JLBowler. That lobby will be where you race Sunday.

5. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

The original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.

If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.
To avoid duplication, the currently claimed combinations can be found here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.

Welcome to S.N.A.I.L.

In just over 6 months, since the SNAIL Incident Report & Review system was made active, the

View attachment 124461
have made over 950 reviews with the highest week being last week at 205 individual reviews.
oimg

Thank you to each steward for all your efforts. Without you, we wouldn't be where we are today as a league. However, I challenge everyone here to make sure there are never that many incidents worth reviewing again. We can race cleaner than that. Let's each do our individual part to be smart, safe, clean and fast.

Same thing here, @covan2306 I gave up for the night. It was nice meeting yall and great racing with everyone. Good luck Sunday to all of you. Really hoping they (PD) get there ?#$& together here before long.

Good racing in the red room tonight, Got a disconnected from lobby and then an error message. Looking forward for the enduro saturday race and then sunday nights division race.

That reminds me of something I've been meaning to ask.. Is there anyone here that can read/write Japanese? If so, please post a reply or just PM me. I have an idea on how to use that skill set to help the league. :)
Well, my curiosity is now sufficiently piqued :mischievous:

Sadly, I don't know Japanese. But in a pinch I might be able to find someone that can translate it to/from English. Mandarin would actually be easier, strangely enough. If you get no responses, let me know and I'll put out some feelers.

Edit: I'm going to be traveling all day, so I may not respond to anything until Friday.
Basically, I'm thinking that if we can get a message or two translated into Japanese, we could use our sizable member base to our advantage by asking SNAILs to send those messages to @Kaz_Yamauchi via Twitter. It may be a pipe dream, but my hope is that the number of tweets he receives with the same requests (and in Japanese so he fully understands them) will show him that there is a significant number of GT fans who are wanting the same thing.

Of course, there have been other attempts to get Kaz's attention (e.g. the petition that @cmbeal317 linked for us), but what I want to ask for is something that I doubt has ever been brought up to him before. More importantly, it's something that would seemingly be very easy to implement (at least easier than turning GT6's vaporware into something that actually exists). What I would like us to push for is just a small tweak rather than a brand new feature, so hopefully he might be more receptive to looking into it.

Everyone who follows this thread knows how much of a hot-button issue penalty settings have been for us. It's literally been something that has been discussed almost since the beginning of the league. We've have countless debates on the topic and have taken votes (one of which was taken at the end of of league night in each division right after the elimination votes were cast). Anyways, my point is that the penalty system is severely flawed because it forces us to accept the negatives of a penalty setting if we want the benefits of it as well.

A prime example is short-cutting penalties. Aside from some questionable penalty areas on certain tracks (like La Sarthe), most everyone agrees that shortcut penalties are a generally a good thing because they prevent cheating both during races and during qualifying (btw, this is not possible - someone would have to leave the track in order to change the setting. We tested having the last qualifier do it, but there was something else that happened when this was done if I recall). But I digress..

As much as shortcut penalties are desirable, collision penalties are equally as undesirable. So why force one to be chosen when the other is? Why can't we just choose which penalties we want to allow just like we can choose which driving aids we want to allow? I joked about contacting Kaz about this almost two years ago, but I'm not joking anymore. After all this time, I think it's as valid of a request as ever, and I think that if we approach this in the right way, we might be able to get something to happen. Even if it's a long shot, we'll never know unless we try.

EDIT: It's worth mentioning that I got additional motivation to do something like this after watching this video:

WARNING! Don't roll your eyes too far up at the 1:10 mark. They might not come back down! :sly:
