Unless that first lap is 8 seconds slower than the rest than my math is right. It's close but I'm running high 1:13's which should make the race 9 laps to be just over 10 minutes. Maybe nobody else is running that kind of lap times.

If that's the case, D2 is in trouble this week.

I think D2 already knows they're in trouble with you being in there.. You belong is D2 as much as I belong in D1!

EDIT: Check out my shiny new D1 sig! I should take a screenshot of it because it'll be gone in less than a week. Now I know what pigs must feel like when the walk into the slaughter house. :nervous:

The grim reaper could not be held back two weeks in a row!!! Sadly the scythe was swung and the reaper is :)

There's always tomorrow for redemption! Have some great races tomorrow people, wish I could join you!

cheeb, thanks for staying up late to post the updated driver list. I've gone ahead and updated the League Responsibilities to reflect some of the movement between divisions that we've seen in the last few weeks.

Most notably, I put Rally as the host as well as the director since he's got a solid connection. (Rally, is that cool? Can you log into D2 early please?). Also, dabneyd is in D1 (as was last week as well) so along with trash15, D1 has two very capable hosts with Grade A connections.

However, as you can see, we have a potential problem in D3. If Handlebar ends up not being able to race, we don't have a known capable host since dvdoughboy is out for sure. Are there any drivers in D3 this week that have a Grade A or Grade B connection at www.speedtest.net?

Zer0, I'm cool with that until your return to d2 next week.
Garris, the cube, I don't get. Not to bad for the type of car it is up front. However, I think it looks silly, and incomplete in the rear. Like the designers ADD started kicking as he was drawing up the rear glass. The Soul looks way better and way more complete then the cube IMHO. That said, I'm not a fan of any of the box cars. As for the matrix\vibe. I've mulled over buying one. I like the awd version, and like the fact its made state side. I'm a firm believer in buying American made. Don't care if the company is American owned, so long as the jobs to put it together are here.

Thanks Rally!

btw, does anyone have any time to post pictures from last Sunday's races? I don't think we had a single person post pictures from their division last week. Today is kinda the last chance to do that since we're racing again tonight. Again, only if any of you have some spare time today, but I feel like picture posts are a really great way to add value to the thread and provide "time capsules" from each division. :D

btw cheeb, The__Reaper's GTP name is deepsouth.

Cheeb for your driver list (above), i have Naruto's GTP Name: WingZeroCustom

Thanks for the updates, the missing links were getting on my nerves 👍

hey, can't make tomorrow, downloaded tracks though. Thanks.

Me either, mothers day

im out tomorrow for mothers day dinner

I *should* be OK for Sunday. One of my students allegedly was amazingly ... Something.

Currently I will not be able to make Next Sundays Race as i will be out of town. Will notify if any changes between now and then.

Thanks for letting us know, too bad you can't race, looked to be some near full grids. ahhhh real life ...

You'll be fine in D1. Be smooth and stay out of trouble and you won't have any problems. You already know this though.

S.N.A.I.L. GTP OLR Rules and Guidelines Highlite
Overtaking in corners is exciting, it's a real adrenalin rush. We've all attempted an overtake like this, with varying amounts of success :)

Following is section 08 of the GTP OLR. it talks about corner rights, who has the right to the corner and the lines they are allowed to take. What I found interesting is section C: Leaving space for the behind driver up to corner exit.

Please read this and make a concious effort tonight to follow what's layed out here. It will make everyones night more enjoyable 👍

08: Corner Rights:

A: When approaching the turn/apex of turn, the car which "holds" the inner side of turn has entrance-advantage and other driver(s) must refrain from endangering him by his actions.

B: You must establish substantial overlap with the car ahead before they reach the corner’s turn-in point to have the right to drive up their inside, or to expect them to leave inside room for you. At least the front of your car should be up to the driver’s position in the ahead car. The ahead driver has the right to be fully committed to the racing line of their choice without any interference if there was no substantial overlap before he turned in.

C: If sufficient overlap is established before the turn-in point, then the behind driver has the right to sufficient side room. The ahead driver must also leave sufficient side room for the behind driver. This means that each driver has a right to their respective "line", or side of the track, right up to the exit point. Neither driver should squeeze the other toward the inside or outside of the corner during the apex or exit.

D: If an ahead driver has clearly made an error to warrant a passing move, a behind driver may attack their position, with due caution and care, regardless of whether there was any pre-existing overlap. However, the overtaking driver must still avoid contact. Small errors by the ahead driver may not justify a passing move. The ahead driver getting a bit out of shape at times doesn’t give you an automatic right to pass. You still have to judge if their error allows for a safe pass to take place.

E: Drivers who are using PS2/PS3 controller MUST make additional effort in driving due to the fact they can't use side-view, and their perception of the other cars is thereby limited - extreme caution while maneuvering is required. If you are using a controller, you are required to set buttons up for side views as "I didn't see you." is not an excuse if you collide with another driver when racing.

Don't forget about the good racecraft guide, some excellent tips to help you be more competitive, a pleasure to race against and the kind of driver a S.N.A.I.L. should be!

I would like to back the olr with this. Ignorance is not an excuse. You have a mirror, a look back button and for other then cockpit/bumper cams, you should have great side situational awareness. Respect another's line if they have rights to it. And if your dive bombing, except to be pushed off the track.
That said. Good racing tonight everyone.
mopar. I like alms, but I'm a Rolex Grand Am GT guy, and all forms of rally kinda guy. Big fan of the speedsource team. Actually getting tickets to goto the belle isle race coming up in a few weeks. I'm geeked they opened that course again!

Ah, okay that makes sense. Is there a post or a guide that lists all the cars that each ticket can produce? If so, I'll provide a link in the Prize C post so that the Prize C winner can make a more informed decision on which ticket to pick.

I do not know how to paste it with my iPad, but either mygranturismo.net has a sorting feature on the cars, or ps3trophies.org (I think it is an .org...) has it. Look for the guy jasynergy who has a thread on prizes and unlocks.

This is my attempt to customize my wheel a little bit.

Sorry i wont be able to make it tonight guys, im sick :( And i know this isnt 24h notice either just kinda came on me this morning.

AA! Just noticed your location DS. Another local yocal. I'm just down the way off 96. Howell. You disc?

you must have some superior masking skills 👍

The only thing to mask off was the dial. I took the wheel apart, painted it, and then put it back together. You can't really see in the pic, but I also painted the top half of the case for the wheel.

Hey mopar, sorry to hear you're ill, get better soon.

Was your note from last night for missing next Sunday, May 20th??? If so, I misunderstood and will make the change to the drivers list.

tks,

cheeb

ahhh, good screwdriver and assembly skills then :)

EDIT: I usually end up with parts left over when I do stuff like that!

I disc. Kensington Park has a nice course.

Rally, you live only an hour away. I'm in Rochester Hills. Maybe we could have a Michigan SANIL Meet-Up sometime.

Am I too late to join the league for tonight? I've been wanting to do this for a while, and it looks like I'll actually have the time tonight!

Hey DrKronin,

We should be able to get you set up in time. Make sure you have the cars needed for tonight's races, listed in the line up post. Do at least an oil change on the cars, breaking them in is better if you have time. You'll be racing in the SNAIL_Division3 lounge tonight.

I'll add you to the drivers list, you'll be starting in Division 3. If you can't make it on a Sunday, please be sure to give us at least 24 hours notice by posting in this forum, it makes things much simpler for us, thanks.

PSN friend requests will be sent to you from SNAIL_Division1, SNAIL_Division2 and SNAIL_Division3. Their lounges are where we race Sunday night and hold our various events. Here's a breakdown of the ways we use the different lounges.

During the week we run a number of different events feel free to jump in and partake!

The original post also has a lot of information regarding the league, commit it to memory ;)

Welcome aboard and enjoy :)
