...as long as we keep it to friendly rivalry and not friendly fire :)

Would have been nice if we had this to select as a combo for the Vet race

The M151? Lord no. Got qualified on those during some Harvest Eagle/Bear training at Holloman AFB. If there was ever a vehicle that scared the 🤬 out of me to drive, that was it.

I'd say the worst... maybe an M113 slathered in Missouri mud, taking on a reverse camber hairpin with a cliff downhill, 'just too high' rocks uphill, and carrying a bit too much speed. One of those moments where you can see the end, and it's feeling WAY too close for comfort... I did have a word with the driver after I could speak again. I had the radio accidentally 'hot mic'd' during the trip, so my CO had several highly colorful words for me when we returned, but he did say he wished he could'a seen us take that corner!

For racing? How about Jimmy? The Deuce-and-a-half? You would definitely have some torque!

Got you covered....not sure I can say so once the World Cup starts. Yeah the one with the real Football and Real World Champions!:D

@dabneyd
What is the proper Grammar Nazi to American Football played with hands?

Handball? No, taken already! :dopey:

It is a nice facility. Since times for the week/month are recorded, it could be speed based... Best way to find out is go - is it enjoyable? Do you like the guys, the format, the karts, etc.?
I did end up registering for the arrive & drive meet up, though I almost accidentally signed up for the 2014 league in the process. Fortunately, the league had reached capacity so I had joined the waitlist, and the confirmation email for that pointed me to the arrive & drive meet up (which is what I thought I was registering for in the first place). At a minimum it will be nice to meet other local folks with similar interests and I always enjoy racing at Allsports GP.

Hello, I am very interested in joining, but the 9:30 pm starting time worries me. Is being a part time an easier option for me? Thank you.

My Info:
GTP: Charlie A
PSN: Warlie12
Hi Charlie,
Thanks for your interest! You don't have to race all the time in order to be a member. We're all about having a good work/race balance. :sly:

Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the S.N.A.I.L. OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:
1. You take the S.N.A.I.L. OLR and Racecraft Test
2. You run the Time Trial and submit your information by 23:59 EST on Saturday night if you want to race this Sunday.
3. @JLBowler PM's you with your assigned Division that we feel will give you the closest competition. You will be added to the drivers list.
4. Send a PSN friend request to the Race Director or Primary Host from your assigned SNAIL Division. Sunday night you will need to sort the online lobbies by friends and join the lobby named 'snailracing.org Division_(x) based off your Division placement from JLBowler. That lobby will be where you race Sunday.
5. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍
The original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.
If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.
During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to S.N.A.I.L.

Hi everyone!
I'm excited about this racing leaque. I didn't even know that such a good thing exists.
So happy that this leaque is based on skill, not other things. It is given that this can help became a better driver not a mechanic :)

I wish you can add me. It woud be nice to race with other skilled drivers.

... and then there were 2 for SADF!
and last week we couldn't even spell SADF :gtpflag:

I was looking at the list of those of us who have served in various armed forces. Did you know that Canadian citizens routinely serve in the US Armed forces and that members of the Canadian forces routinely serve exchange tours also. It might be informative to know what our Veterans did in the service if they are willing to share.

US Navy 1960-65 - Stationed on Oahu, Hawaii as main base. Tough Duty, to say the least.
AEWBARRONPAC - Airborne Radar Line that protected the West Coast of USA prior to the DEW Line.
We flew patrols from Midway Island to the Aleutians in Alaska and back - 17 hour flights
Flight Radioman - Dah-Dit-Didah sort of a duty. 3000 hours, but not very stressful.
Some of our crews went to Vietnam ....... some were shot down.
Guess The Lord had "other duties" for me stateside, as He let me out early in the Vietnam period.

I'm the ultimate primadonna...USAF Pilot. Flew KC-135s (Strato Tanker...jeeze what a stupid name...it was a flying gas station...had a couple of SEA TDY tours in the big bird.) for @500 hours, OV-10A Bronco (Forward Air Controller) in SEA, Korea, and Europe 1500 Hrs, and F-4Es (Phantom) in the states (@500 hours of stark raving boredom...no war). Burned out.... became and attained my highest rank to date... civilian.
I caught planes!
USS CONSTELATION, aircraft carrier.
I did that (got caught!)twice during an exchange weekend where the Navy Jocks came ashore from Yankee Station with a two seat A-4 and took one of us back to the Carrier. We then got to fly a combat sorite off of the carrier in the pit of an A-4 and the Navy/Marine guys got a scenic tour of Laos or Cambodia in the backseat of an OV-10. It was hard to figure out who was the greenest after they came back from the sortie. The Nail (OV-10 FAC from NKP Thailand 65-75..thus my nom de guerre. LOL) who was UNDERIMPRESSED with landing on a moving target!! ...or the Squid who had never been that low or than slow while being shot at ...LOL. I have the utmost admiration for Naval Aviators....and the guys who kept them flying.

Power Line Technician, 54271 in the old AFSCs. Served at George AFB CA, Elmendorf AFB, Shemya AFB, Galena and King Salmon AFS AK, Hill AFB UT, during which I served a tour in the UAE for Desert Shield/Storm and Aviano AFB Italy. I've built and repaired electrical systems from the substations to the light bulbs all over the place.

I jumped out of planes... Parachutist from Oct 90 to April 92 in Portugal.

Was that in a military organization?
