^I'm okay driving those, I hate that there almost no chance of catching it if there's minor contact while cornering.

I hear you, was the same for the Punto though.

There's also making use of the draft, although it's probably minimized at Autumn Ring Mini.

For another rare occasion, I agree with Devious. the f430 was quite stable, all the way up to the point that you drive past its ability to keep you on track. Once it starts to go, it takes a bit to settle down, but you can really push it to the egde. but once over, it will reward you with smoke, spins and carnage.
On that note, karts are much the same. They are slow and nimble. But once they start to slide, thats its. and as slow as they are to pick up speed again, its pretty much race over at that point. Its is going to a lot of fun for the good to great drivers, and a study of frustration for the poorer drivers I think.

Wow... I'm sorry. I'm a horrible driver, that is obvious, but I actually love the 430. I think it is very stable, taking into consideration it is a powerful, mid-engined Italian sports car. I don't remember having a single off this past Sunday save where I missed my brake point at the final chicane.

Twice.

Anyway, I actually think the 430 is a great, relatively stable car. I think most of the offs were from Spa, either people not being as comfortable on the track, or possibly that track being more technical than most. I could be wrong, but I actually think the correct line through that track is not as wide as it looks, and I have a really hard time hitting it at all. I think Spa is a proper driver's course.

I call a car stable if you can safely recover from briefly pushing the car beyond it's limits. And don't get me wrong - I really like this car and the fact that it feels loose to me.

Motegi will be a fun addition, but I don't understand why they want to hold everything back for so long.

My guess is that they're holding back Motegi so GTA competitors won't spend the next 4 weeks practicing on it for 8-5 instead of working on the current challenges. No idea why they aren't releasing the prize cars though...

You're pardoned. If the car seems stable to you, I'd say you're not pushing hard enough. I'm not saying I have a problem driving it, I'm saying that I can see how someone (especially ds3 drivers) can have trouble driving it.
...on that note, there is a reason why I'm in D1 and I have NEVER fallen outside the top 3 in D1, and I'm not sure there is anyone here who can make that claim. In the F430 races I took pole with a time of 2:28.3xx, 1st place in race 5 & 2nd place in race 6. Somehow I find it hard to believe that I'm not pushing the car hard enough, but rather it seems that you are driving the car too hard. a good driver doesn't over-drive the car. With that being said, I will admit I'm very curious how you plan to maintain control of the F1 when you are clearly having issues with the F430. The F1 is far less forgiving when presented with driver error.

When you reach the podium in D1, then you can pick the car, track combos, but until then....

Hmmm, didnt feel really loose to me.it really stuck to the track I though. And you could really push it pretty hard, which is my idea of stable. hell, my table is stable, but once I tip it, it has fallen over. kinda the same thing.
Glenn, have you taken the F40 for a spin? That thing is nearly as bad as a Yellowbird.

That's not what I mean. If they were able to import a huge number of vehicles from GT4, why not do the same thing with the tracks? They've had a year and a half now to update the old tracks for GT5!

a good driver doesn't over-drive the car.

That's what I always work toward, but I know how easy it is to over-drive.

Man, I wish I was in D1 for the next race sunday. I wanna see those races! Devious. Having raced with you and with DS. All I gotta say is that there maybe be a shake up coming to the top runners.

I thought the Ferrari combo was supreme! :sly: Props to Sharkie for churnin' out the killer combo's. Loving the Karts also. Speaking of Karts, attendance for Goat Karts is at an all time low since i don't attend anymore, in favor of wend practice, bringing it to Zero occupancy. Consider it a closed event. Since we are throwing new event ideas around i have one. 💡 Cross Training; run Sunday cars and tracks but change the combinations. It would serve as a sort of practice while giving the chance to observe the track from a different perspective, and further understand the absolute limits of the chosen cars.

^Get into :27s and we'll talk. :mischievous:

Congrats on the 2:27. I'm not surprised that was all you had to say in response to my post because every point I made was valid.

This is getting dangerously close to a 'situation', if you two want to continue your 'conversation' please do it via pm.

Pretty sure you'll have a chance to settle things on the track shortly :)

Thanks

Agreed. Why haven't any old tracks been made available?? If simply improving the game is not enough motivation for PD, then what about profits? How much revenue could they generate by simply making some old tracks available as DLC? The answer is a boat load!!

Yes I posted my times after practice last week, I think my best with the f40 was a 2:36, which is terrible for you guys, but for me was great, I just like cars that are loose in the back, it feels right to me.

I know he's fast, we ran in a Wednesday Practice run in an open lobby. I'm award of how fast he is, and I welcome the competition. I'm not here to take anything away from him. He did state, not in so many words, that he does tend to over-drive the car, which was also evident in the practice session that fateful Wednesday.

I'm not sure what is going on here, since I don't read all the posts but I got a 2.27 last night on the 2nd race and I did it by taking it easy and hitting my marks. My main issue with the race was I kept missing the correct braking point, I spent most laps braking a tad late or a tad early, but I almost got it all right for that one lap.

DSGER I disagree, just watch an alien they hit all their marks and race with ease, no sideways racing or anything, Aderrrm is the smoothest driver I've ever seen and conserves his tires better than anyone.

No, I think you misunderstood. Not the F430, the F40. wide, low, tall spoiler. Twin turbod huge and many pistoned engined. very much one of ferrari's wildest, most untamed cars.

Yeah, I can't wait for all the top drivers to be on the track at the same time. Seems like one or more of them either have an advanced-notice absence, are on hiatus, or still working their way up to D1.

On that note, I am now selling S.N.A.I.L. Spectator Passes for next week's D1 races. Just one dollar will allow you to join the D1 lounge next Sunday even if you're not on the D1 grid!

Keep in mind that next Sunday's races are officially cancelled due to Memorial Day weekend. So any S.N.A.I.L. Spectator Pass purchasers will probably be disappointed to see a completely empty D1 lounge.

Oops, sorry, I'm not much of a reader, I'm a skimmer, lol, I'll try it now at spa, and let you know. I'm guessing it will be worse, lol

I'll take prize B, and I will have to wait for the person that has prize C to break the tie-breaker before choosing right?

Just wanna point out zer0. i did say the next race Sunday. Not next Sundays race.
Glenn, its a handful! Try it with our tire system and see how it feels.

Yes, that's correct.

dabneyd, you get Prize C, which means you also get to break the tie between Round 1 and Round 2 in the elimination vote. The round you vote for will have either the car or track replaced. The round you don't vote for will be left completely intact.

Ok Bro, when I said those cars are easier to drive I meant with driving aids on, lol, that was the first time I have driven that car with them off, and sport soft tires, it was ugly, but again I had fun, I drove a 2:45 with all driving aids off, and sport soft tires, I then checked to see what I could do with racing soft tires, again no driving aids, and I got a 2:30, I still like the car even without driving aids, but the sport soft tires were no fun.

This can't possibly be right, since Round 1 and Round 2 are tied for the most votes, while Round 3 easily took the least votes.

The tie breaking vote chooses which will be completely eliminated. The round not voted for will lose only the car or track.
