In the little time I was driving, I love Combo 1. Car was surprisingly more grippy then I expected and the race (in the first group anyway) was close and somewhat crazy.

Combo 2, meh. Maybe I'm just terrible, but I found it just impossible.

While being nice is all well and good, we really don't like incidents being discussed, even in a sideways fashion, on the main thread. Nor should you use your general Division convo for such discussions. If you really feel it's worthy of being mentioned, then PM the drivers involved. If that route proves unsatisfactory, file an IR and bring the steward corps to bear. That's what we have a steward corps for.

We are looking for a few good men from each division to join us for a test race day (three races) tonight at 10:00 eastern. We have tested and have settled on a ballast system to handicap all divisions and we are now ready to try it out under "race conditions". Room will be public and labeled SNAIL SPEC MIATA TEST.

Spec Miata
is a class of racing car used in Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), National Auto Sport Association (NASA), and Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs (MCSCC)road racing events.

The Actual Spec Miata (SM) class is intended to provide the opportunity to compete in low-cost cars with limited modifications, suitable for racing competition. It is intended to encourage low cost, entry level, production car based competition. Spec Miata currently races both sprints and enduros where available. The SNAIL Miata Series will provide that opportunity to Virtual Racers. The intent of this series is to provide good clean wheel to wheel for all divisions at the same time. While it is unlikely that a Division 8 driver could win over a Division 1 driver, even with the healthy ballast system imposed, it will be possible for divisional overlap provided by the ballast system to provide everybody with somebody to race!

The Cars
Eunos Roadster
(NA Special Package) 89'
and
Mazda Roadster Touring Car

Spec Miata

Max Power:123
Weight:940 KG (plus ballast )
Sports Hard
Mazda Spec Roadster Touring Car

Max Power:234
Weight:795 KG (plus ballast)
Racing Hard
(TUNING PROHIBITED EXCEPT FOR BALLAST)

This is a test but we will have fun racing. We need to see how the handicaps hold up throughout a nights racing and will do this at least one more time.

All who participate will be added to the Miata Letter to keep you up to date.

A public THANK YOU to all of the guys who have tested driven, contributed ideas, and just plain supported this effort.

See some of you tonight. If we have a full room we will attempt to open a second.

Cheers and Check 6

Apologies to D3 for my awful performance last night. I had a major headache and was just not able to concentrate.

Bowler could have probably won the night if it were not for me taking him out in Race 1 after I got sideways on the final turn of lap 1. I then proceeded to take him out again while we were battling for back of the pack honors.

I spun out in front of shmiggz at Spa at turn one...glad he got around me ok.

Then I completely forgot my brake point while behind Falango in turn one at Spa and just locked up my brakes and went right across his nose dive bomb style. Just glad it didn't crash him.

Just an awful night for me concentration wise.
The worst part is that you still finished in front of me :irked:

No probs! That T1 @ Spa got my attention haha. Glad we all got out unharmed. It was great following ya @ IMS in race 2. That was a lot of fun!

Yeah...I had to take some strange lines to make sure you didn't get a run on me or try to take away my line ;) I tried to force you into trying to come out of corners harder than you wanted so you might break loose every now and then. Good race...I don't normally drive that defensive but it was my only chance at a win and we were way ahead of the pack.

I may just show up. I can't commit except on Sundays..... if that is ok.

You did a great job of that, because it was really tough to find an opening, haha. I thought I could get you on 2 occasions coming up to the end of T1 on to that straight, but not quite. I got squirrely a few times on to that straight trying to get a run haha

My apologies to those at the back of the grid in the last race of the night in D3. I tried to squeeze in on the inside @ T1, and that contributed to a chain reaction of cars bouncing around. I'll be more careful and patient next time.

I would like to participate tonight. The specs are correct in the Eunos Roadster (NA Special Package) '89 with 123 HP and 940 KG after oil change. The Roadster Touring car has the 795 KG but the HP remains at 214 HP after i did the oil change. Which tire will i be required to get for either car?

The regular miata will run sports hard, while the Roadster TC will use racing hard. See you there!

D1's votes will not be counted in they don't get results in before the results have to be posted by zer05ive. I don't know if that will change anything or not with which combo goes or stays.

Nothing better than a modest driver. KUDOS Robbie.👍;)
