There really are so many though.

@CoachMK21 Yeah, I spent a lot of time on that, RC Pro AM and Micro Machines. Not sure if any of you watch people playing games on youtube, But I watch a group call YogCast and Hat Films. Ive been watching the Hat Films guys play a game called Trials Evolution. It reminds me of a modern Excitebike.

You haven't played Trials Evolution? Fantastic game, and there's a user created map that is exactly like Excitebike.

SNAIL Throwback Thursady!!!

This shouldn't be too difficult... :dopey:

up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start.

Name the game...

Most every Konami game actually.

At first I thought this was the sonic level select, but thats up, down, left, right, abc+start. I done a little googling and it turns out konami used that code for a lot of games! Known as the 'konami code'. Ended up at this wiki entry. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Konami_code_games

Can be used in metal gear games to locate certain bosses or certain easter eggish type scenes.

Edit - beaten to it. (ha, even linked the same page)

My first console was an Atari back in 89 I think. First racing game I can remember was a top down racer on NES called Super Sprint. Some others I remember way back were the original F Zero, Bill Elliott Nascar Challenge and Virtua Racing. First wheel I bought was for F1 2001, and I was stunned! Was hooked for life haha

Never relised there was a console version of super sprint. Infact, i'm sure I downloaded ALL nes games on my laptop, so i've probably got it and never even realised!

I've been watching them play, but I haven't had time to hardly play GT6, let alone any other game. But I am done with school for the next month, so I will be getting some good seat time in. That game does look like a blast to play though, especially with a bunch of drinking buddies.
Funny thing, until the last update or so, the Konami code was also used to get into the menu to log out and such for Netflix.

How about "A B A C A B B"? (Anyone guess without googling?)

My two remembered favorites from Nintendo. Super Off Road and the infamous Duck Hunter!

The blood code for Motral Kombat on Sega... Can anyone guess what systems I've owned? lol
I used to feel like a stud walking up to the time-limited display units that had MK, get the blood going real quick and flip out the kids behind me...

Used to be able to pop in the level select code and beat the last boss in sonic the hedgehog before the time was up and the console reset itself too! :sly:

And hey, being that there's so many full-fledged gamers coming out of the woodwork; I co-host a gaming podcast, feel free to listen in sometime! http://www.deathsdoorprods.com/archives/category/video-games-2/podcast-video-games

That is awesome. A couple of friends and myself had a Minecraft channel not unlike Yogscast a year ago. We had a small falling out, but I am hoping to get the band back together, or start something new. What other games do you play on the regular?

Haha, I done this at a store with sonic 1 set up on mega drive (pretty sure it was a clothes shop, which makes it weird) and all the other kids crowded round to watch me complete it. There were lots of oohs and aahs.

Hope you do get the band back together! Just like GT6, most gaming's a ton more fun with friends.

I try to get my hands on every new game I can, strictly Playstation though. The only sane way to facilitate that is through Gamefly! The turnaround on brand new games from them can be horrible, but $15/month to play a few games versus buying one for $60 works for me - and I buy a lot of their second hand games on the cheap as well.

I'll play most anything, but rarely finish most of them through ADD and high standards.

Yup, the song inspired the code.

I had no idea that even existed! I really only know two Genesis songs though...

Heck yes! I remember playing NES in a Gottchalks and the Sega/Megadrive in a Montgomery Ward, haha.

Fizzer, correct me if I am wrong, but that looks like Virtua Racer. Made by Sega, I believe it did make it to the Genesis console though.

Good call, but only partial credit though. It was Virtua Racing Delux on a Genesis, but it ALSO had this plugged in to the cart slot:

My family had a habit of going down the wrong technology path, we had a Betamax player too ;)

I had the full stack. The Genesis, 32x and Sega CD. Played the Sega CD so much that the drawer broke and I ended up fashoning my own box for it so I could get CDs in and out. Played a lot of night trap and star wars rebel assault. Of all the old systems I had, I probably miss that combo the most. Though, I do miss colony wars and wing commander for the PlayStation.
