Finally got the G27 hooked up yesterday! Wow! .. What a difference from the DFGT. I got the pedals inverted and they feel so much better .. I got the GTEye spring in the mail today, gonna try it out in a few , now I'm all set..

Couple questions, What settings (force feedback#'s) do you guys use ? I know its mainly driver preference but I'd like to get a good starting point cause so far I can't seem to find my sweet spot .

Question 2 : What about the wheel lock setting ? I seem to like the "O"(670) setting the best , I really like the way it turns on the "Square"(450) setting but I'm slower ..

Oh , one last thing .. Do you guys really use the clutch ?!? That is a total PITA to slow down using the clutch and brake and not pop the thing in neutral on exit !! I guess it will take some practice but for now its very difficult !

Thoughts ? any input would be greatly appreciated !!

I am sooo off the pace at Cape. Wow.

Topic Change:
Can anybody else sign in to PSN on PC? I think that part is still down. I can't sign on to get my voucher code for my free game. :(
I just went through the voucher business for a free game 2 or 3 hours ago without any PSN issues (on the PC and console). Also no problems to transfer game progess on GTA5 from PS3 to PS4. Just beware that the larger games will take quite a long time to download and install so you have to change your power settings on the PlayStation not to turn off after 4 hours. Smaller games only take 30 to 40 minutes to download and install.

I enjoy using the clutch in street cars sometimes, and in slower cars in general. In faster cars it becomes too frustrating with how picky GT is about denying you a shift and putting you in neutral. Also, because in GT flat shifting is impossible but heel-toe works it means they specifically made it that picky about being off the throttle and the timing of the gates on upshifts. It's silly. iRacing isn't nearly that picky but it will make awful grindy noises at you if you rush shifts without rev matching.

As far as FFB goes on the G27 I think I'm using 8 strength 9 sensitivity? I set it one time and haven't looked at it since.

FFB settings you can try 5 torque 8 sensitivity. Don't be afraid to play around with the numbers.

Clutch. I use the paddle shifters. Quicker shifts and they work on all cars.

Wheel lock. I know many racers use different settings depending on what type of car they are driving. If 670 feels good to you than that is the right wheel lock. All comes down to feel, your feel.

I was unsure about the force feedback settings on my G 27 as well after many months. Someone much better at driving than me (like you) told me to max out all the settings; 7, 10, 10, I believe. I really like it so far [with the exception of rally driving - feels like it's going to blow up].
Steering sensitivity: I prefer one down from 900 degrees, whatever that is. Lowest setting (200 degrees) is best for drifting.
The guy that mentored me about this G27 stuff also explained the clutch. However I've never really tried using the clutch myself.

I used the clutch on the new easy and medium seasonals to try and get used to it .. I have to admit it was a lot o fun. I'm sure since it was fun I'll keep using it on those easy seasonal races ..NO WAY I could use it in competition

I've used the clutch in every "A-Spec" race where the car used would let me. I've found each car has different shifting characteristics. Go back and do the Goodwood events with the clutch and h-gate. Every one of those cars you get to use in those events, that lets you use the clutch anyway, shifts differently. There's one that shifts so slick I kept doing the run just because I couldn't get over how well it did shift. Degrees of rotation on my G27 has always been set to 670, since I found out it could be set, back in GT5. FFB is set 6 torque and 4 Sensitivity.

I use the clutch on A Spec races and seasonals as well, for the sheer fun of it. I don't use it for time trials or Sunday SNAIL races. The missed shifts are frustrating!! As for the wheel settings, I think I have FFB maxxed, but should probably play with that, and as of about 6 weeks ago, I always race at 670 degrees. I like how it's a bit easier to catch slides and oversteer compared to 900 degrees.

I use "square" when setting wheel rotation and my FFB is 6 torque 3 sensitivity

Happy 2 Year SNAILiversary to ME!
Wow! Seems like only yesterday I was asking to join and only last night I was getting my first star! Time sure does fly when you're having fun. 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍

Thanks to all who come out every Sunday and keep the SNAIL train rolling along as well as all the folks behind the scenes who keep the train's engine working at peak performance! Looking forward to another epic year and being a part of the journey that is SNAIL.

Thanks Everyone!

Thanks guys for all your feedback, I sure do appreciate it. Played around with settings, yet to find my sweet spot, leaning toward the higher feedback settings .
I will say that GTEye brake spring is the shinizzle. Well worth it.

Boy do we have some tire eating combos this week, hard to get settled in before have to stop for tires. Cant turn off wear, just hurting yourself.

Thanks again, have a great day!

Is anyone else having problems with g27 while racing ease to the left.
For example doing newest survival. I start race at top dead center when race is over wheel is turned to the left about 70 degrees.
Any suggestions.

That doesnt sound good. I have not seen or heard of this issue.... Does it start at center for the next race ??

If its under warranty, I'd go that way.... Other stuff I read said there could be a software update if you hook it to a PC. Or the optic eye could have loose screws but I would think that would keep it out of center more permanently. Call the customer service. I haven't had to call but I hear they are pretty good.

This happened to me when the wheel was new. Trying to find the link to the doc that I used to do the repair. On the back of the servo, there is a couple of screws you need to tighten and you can also epoxy the wheel there as well, takes about 1 1/2 hrs to do.
First pic it's servo on right. Screw is under the black cover. Will hunt for doc for you.

I'm sure I could do that, but I'd be terrified to take my wheel apart. Yet, I've taken the pedals apart many times.

Here's a pic showing the gear rack.

Mechanical limitation of the rotation angle is identical with the G25. When assembling the wheel, you carefully have to watch that the position of the gear rack is exactly centered and the cam of the steering shaft is pointing exactly upwards. An error of one gear only will cause the G27/25 not beeing able to calibrate.
