Attention all drivers, hosts, and division directors in all divisions.

Effective for the start of the Feb. season of Sunday night racing, penalties will be set to off for all divisions.

@zer05ive will be updating the 1st post with this change as soon as he gets the chance to do so.

He also has an announcement to make regarding changes to the tire regulations for SNAIL that will take effect with the start of the Feb. season.

Also as a side note, it has been 3 years and 2 days since I joined SNAIL. Where has the time gone?

what you could do is have multiple classes running. When we have a spec miata race we also have a spec e30 bmw class running at the same time. we could do it that way set it to no tuning and allow only two cars and people have to draw to find out what car they will have.

I'd like to know which Region of SCCA you're a part of... As far as I'm concerned the spec E30 class (Better known as PRO3) is pretty big on the west, as is the SM class... I'd be down for a Miata race on Sunday, might want to keep the miatas first gen though. The 1.8L is much faster in a straight line, and handles almost as well as the 1.6L

At this point i'm looking at up tuning only to as close to the stock mx-5 miata '00 aka no downtuning they seem to be really close in lap time by .2 from the highest stock miata to the lowest tuned miata with out detuning

Why should higher division drivers get slower cars? Multi-class, regardless of skill, is a ton of fun. When I played Live For Speed, I raced in a club that ran a multi-class server, and the more experience and clean racing you ran on the server, the higher you'd move in terms of car class. It was always a ton of fun, no matter how fast you were. I don't understand why higher division drivers should be reduced to slow cars for the sake of being faster though. Multi-class racing is not about handicaps.

Because it's only a one off night. If I get enough interest they maybe it will become a regular series where we can explore dual racing series over a 2 month period where people in the higher class swap out with people in the lower class. If I was to make it dual class I would put D1-4 drivers in less powerful cars as in theory they will have better car control and more capable of entry, exit and corner speeds (aka less mistakes and better cornering in general)

In my opinion, the division a driver is in should not dictate which class of car they get to drive.

If I was to make it dual class I would put D1-4 drivers in less powerful cars as in theory they will have better car control and more capable of entry, exit and corner speeds (aka less mistakes and better cornering in general)

To me, this just sounds like an excuse to slow down higher division drivers. Higher division drivers are there because they make fewer mistakes in the first place. Your thought on this seems a bit backwards to me. It's your idea for a race though, so go with what you want, it just doesn't seem right, nor justified to me.

Because it's only a one off night. If I get enough interest they maybe it will become a regular series where we can explore dual racing series over a 2 month period where people in the higher class swap out with people in the lower class. As I understand it, a Dual Class Race would just be 2 races being run at the same time. Doesn't matter if there is a Balance of Power/Speed/Time or Talent. The Miata TCs would run their race - the Faster cars would run their race.
That that kind of event would "simulate" a real-life race - that we have seen on the tube. Would be nice to give one a try. Just emphasize clean racing and the Faster Class becoming aware of speed differences in tight areas of the track.
Please consider.

Im in. 2 & C

Single class team event. Two drivers per team (one D1-3, one D4-8). Tally both drivers points across both races for overall Enduro Team Champs.

or take the drivers list and sort by Jan. points standings and create teams starts at the ends working towards the middle.

OK I need a vote who wants to run a dual class race vs just miata's ( it's not just my race it's for everyone)

Correct me if I'm wrong Coach, but based on the driver selection process you listed, wouldn't @Hellbringer69 be alt1 with 247.1 points?

EDIT:

Wait, is it based on the points for who would be the highest non automatic driver from each division, then followed by the second non automatic driver?

Not sure if you answered your own question, but it's based on the 1st non-automatic AND non-at-large driver. @Hellbringer69 is in the division of the at-large driver (@syntorz), which is why he's not counted in the first round of alternates (1-8). Make sense?

I'd like to know which Region of SCCA you're a part of... As far as I'm concerned the spec E30 class (Better known as PRO3) is pretty big on the west, as is the SM class... I'd be down for a Miata race on Sunday, might want to keep the miatas first gen though. The 1.8L is much faster in a straight line, and handles almost as well as the 1.6L

Im not part of one yet Im still building my spec Miata. I will be running under NASA series rules.
