HI. would like to join.

gmraces

@gmraces

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!
Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add @CoachMK21, @Dragonwhisky, @JLBowler, @nmcp1 & @zer05ive as participants. The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing club. Sunday races are organized exclusively through the GT6 Community features within the game.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread. If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

As of tomorrow, Nuno's family will have to get rid of the sick on their own :P

I've been getting my butt kicked for the last 2 weeks with people getting sick in my house! It's about time I do it of my own choosing! Bring on the weekend baby! :D

Ok so a few thinks came up about the race on Sunday

1) the start time is not 7am and 5am that is the start time for the time progression we will be running at the usual sunday night race time Except room will open around 8:30ish and if we get the grid filled by 9 we start

2) concerning tires do we want H-S or start on hards then you can switch to either mediums or softs

3) we will do a grid setting race around twin ring motegi so that the vette/viper start out front

4) we should have some sort of qualifier for la sarthe I don't care if it's at that track or we go to another track and do a 5 minute qualifier for instance around motegi OR do reverse grid start for la sarthe based on Daytona thoughts?

5) damage is on heavy (Blame lesson)if you crash/spin out/ eat grass and spin or there are only 2 people involved in the crash there is no caution only if 3 or more people are involved will a caution be called

6) this is full tuning racing minus adding aero kits or engine parts outside of those specified please come prepared

Concerning the GT-R any GT-R GT3 allowed when we raced it in snail may be run as the spec are the same I know it says base model but I made a boo boo and don't feel the need to back out of it. (as specs are the same)

Anything else that came up that I may have forgotten please send me a reminder

I'm on the west coast, so it's still Thursday!

My first and only car accident was in January 2005, about a year and a half after I bought my first car, a 95 Plymouth Neon. It was cheap for being in quite good shape, ran pretty good, and got me to school and work and back, so it did the job. I was going straight through an intersection, and someone turned left into me. If they went a half second sooner, it would have been head on. Luckily, I got out unharmed, not really sure how though. The contact sent me sideways through the rest of the intersection and against the center concrete median. Door was stuck shut, so I had to climb out the broken window, NASCAR style.

2) I think it should be driver choice

3/4) Why qualify at a track we won't be racing at?

5) If the masses and yourself would rather damage be light or off my feelings won't be hurt. It was merely a suggestion to promote the mindset of an endurance race.

Glad @Falango you were not hurt in this accident 'cause the car looks bad...
I had a similar crash, the only and first in my life but I only was not injured due to the cage in my Opel Kadett C (260 HP for 900 kg), 4 pt BRITAX seat belts and Recaro racing seat which prevented my head to hit anything...as usual I drove to my parents house and in a right turn I've taken hundreds of times before, it was night and there was gravel on the road, as the FR driven cars do I spon too much and hit a VW Golf parked on the right side after the corner - no injures at all, pff

I like full damage. If some of the faster drivers make a mistake it may give a slower driver a chance...if their careful!!!

3/4) the grid set is to get the miata's to the re of the field which is why I picked an easy track
and then a qualifying period whether at la sarthe or a different track so that all the miata drivers can get on equal footing with the vette/viper field

2) can you please elaborate

5) I and everyone I have talked to like the full damage brings in the realism and punishes bad racecraft the only place it may be bad is any lag spikes saw that last night during practice. I just like harassing you which is why I put the blame lesson part:sly:

If anything changes I will post it in the thread. Also would like to do a practice room tomorrow
Oh and full suspension and transmission tuning allowed the only consideration are no aero kits allowed and no de-tuning of engine

They will start race 1 at the back of the field. Be sure to check out @brntguy's live stream to see what happens tonight at 9:30 ET.

@Die_Birdy_Die

Maybe I read it wrong, but it seemed like you were leaning towards mandating that each group start on the same tire. Id rather everybody have a choice to run whatever kind if tire strategy they prefer. Just my opinion.

Glad to see it filling out :)

so you like the H-S combo instead of H-M-S cause I would only mandate starting on hards if all 3 compounds can be used. The main thing I don't want is people only using softs and mediums I want the hards used or whats the point of having them no one would use them (la Sarthe maybe so there is no pitting for additional tires do to the wear of the softs and mediums there)

I don't know if the regulation settings allow that much specification.
that's why I would mandate either H-S and hope that people abide to it (which I don't see any body wanting to cheat for a race that is just for fun) or mandate starting on hards and then at pit you can do what ever you want! which is why I'm asking for opinions of what people want. Same as it's more for la sarthe then daytona that track eats tires!

#TBT I little late but here is my contribution :D

I never had a crash on the street or highway (knock on wood) but the nearest was a couple of years ago when I was at the "Rodriguez brothers autodrome" on a track day, it was a reverse setting, Saturday morning and the track was really damp, so there I am driving a Ford Mondeo, 2 laps in and I start to get overconfident and thinking I can handle it, and on the "S" complex I completely lost the rear end at about 70mph, luckily there was a gravel trap and the car stopped inches away from the concrete wall, it is really scary when you don't have control and going straight to a wall... But it was a really fun day.
