Hahaha...I'll see what I come up with then. 👍

On that note, I'd like to participate in SNAIL this upcoming Sunday so if @zer05ive or @JLBowler could let me know how to become an active member again it would be appreciated.

@nmcp1 should be along shortly with your welcome message and instructions.

Is there any bonus for winning a season overall or just the joy of winning?

It usually comes with a promotion to a new division.

On that note, I'd like to participate in SNAIL this upcoming Sunday

@Inconspicuous

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!
Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add @CoachMK21, @Dragonwhisky, @JLBowler, @nmcp1 & @zer05ive as participants. The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing club. Sunday races are organized exclusively through the GT6 Community features within the game.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread. If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL :cheers:

Shut up! For reals?!

I hate to be a downer to the lighthearted comments that have been rolling this morning, and, it's taken me all day to get this post written. Stupid work anyway.

JJ,
Only give room when they have established enough overlap.

I have to wholeheartedly disagree with the above quoted statement. Here's why;

  • If you are absolutely certain they have overlap,
    • either you run in 3rd person view or,
    • you've been watching them in a side view and are likely to miss your own braking (not breaking) and turn in point.
      • If this is the case, it would be a much better practice to give your division mates some room if a passing attack is possible, not just likely or in fact happening.
  • Yes, you are only obliged by the rules to provide room when sufficient overlap, as defined by that selfsame rule set, has been established, but;
    • Is it really that important for you to keep that person behind you?
      • It might be more fun to give a lane now and get one in return later and actually race.
    • Which is more fun, side by side racing or nose to tail racing? I can honestly say I've never giggled or laughed, hysterically or maniacally, when chasing or being chased. I have however, done such when racing against drivers who give me room to race them, and we go clean around corners side by side. If you don't believe me, ask @socalnatv.

The bottom line is, really, what are you here for? If your purpose is to have fun in a "sporting" competition, then, you're in the right place. On the other hand, if you're goal is to pretend you're being paid millions to help an organization make more millions, and be a "richard noggin" to your fellow racers to do it, this isn't the place for you. I don't mean to say anyone should give up positions, just don't go fishing with sticks of dynamite. Give the poor fish a choice on whether to nibble the bait or not. It doesn't matter who you're racing against, everyone should be giving everyone room to race, always.

I think you're taking my quote out of context. I've raced with JJ many times, I've seen and I have been a victim of what he is experiencing. yes, I agree with you Dragon; however this happens a lot during practice and everyone is having a great time. Sunday racing sometimes become a Jake and Hyde with a double TURBO; I personally give room with the intention that I'll get room as well; however it is very rarely you get the 'return back' and it is worst when you are expecting room and then you get punted off to the kittly litter, wall, etc. There is no side by side racing there. As you race with your division mates, you get to know who gives space and who takes advantage of the space without giving it back. I think JJ is one that tries hard to do the right thing, but frequently gets shafted by being too nice.

@JJLopez427 correct me if I am wrong.

Just a general question... How does Division creation work in SNAIL? When do you feel it's right to open a new division?

I just mention it because I "started" in D5 and now I'm in D7 and there always seem to be more and more talented people, or I'm losing it! So maybe D9 will become a possibility...

The number of divisions is based on the number of drivers actively participating and will only be changed for the start of a new season. We were forced to add divisions in the early days of GT6 in the middle of seasons and it didn't work very well. With that being said, you can expect to see the removal of D8 before you see the addition of D9.

Just want to say thanks to my division mates for waiting for me when I dc'd during qualifying last night.
I would have been more than happy to start last, but they were nice enough to restart qualifying a 2nd time.

I very much appreciate that....STAY CLASSY DIV 6 :cheers:
No worries paddy! I wish we had of shown the same curtsy to Exo:nervous:. But your a known and with him I wasn't sure... If he had of come back within qualiy even if it was with in the last few seconds I would have called it but such is life and we will know for next time!
