The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - Ferrari 430 Scuderia '07 (Sports: Soft) at Cape Ring - Inside (13 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @cmbeal317 wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C5) '04 (Sports: Soft) at High Speed Ring / Reverse (10 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @GTP_Nobby gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @McTrucker so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated,so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more importantis that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, no car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting. Also, please be sure to list the PP and HP (after oil change) of any car you select.

Car Selection Guidelines
Dealership Cars - The maximum price for a selected car is now $1,000,000
DLC Cars - Only DLC cars that are FREE and currently still available in the PlayStation Store can be selected.

Track Selection Guidelines
Any non-DLC track can be selected as long as a single lap with the car combo'd with it would not take more than five minutes to complete. For example, don't select anything that includes the Nurburgring's Nordschleife.

I think some flash drives are faster than others, but what helped me the most was telling it to copy them all at the same time (from PS3 to flash drive) rather than having to do them one at a time. It doesn't actually make the transfer faster, but it does cut out the menu time of having to tell it to do each one, as well as the "oh is it done now? I was distracted..." time.

2015 GT Academy
SNAILRACING.ORG Edition​

The 2015 GT Academy will start next in several hours!

It seems the structure of qualifying will be more difficult, but this only means that each of you will need to squeeze out every tenth, hundredth and thousandth of a second to advance and be one of the select few that will earn the right to travel to Silverstone.

Last year, we were fortunate enough to have 6 Snails make it to Silverstone. How many can make it this year? Will one of us become the 2015 GT Academy Champion?

To see how your fellow Snails performed last year, here is the 2014 SNAIL Rankings. Similarly, I will be tracking your 2015 efforts. However, I cannot do that without your help. As you set a personal best for a given round, take a moment and update your time via the submission form. The rankings will be updated daily by me.

Both the submission form and rankings can be found in my signature. They will remain there from now until the GT Academy is over. Good luck to everyone!

I'd be equally happy, but maybe slightly less power or less weight and/or 4WD. The idea being the Corvette was really tough on tires there. I was smoking them and wasn't trying to. I couldn't figure out how to drive that combo as fast as possible.

I found staying really high to use the banking helped keep momentum if you eased off the throttle a bit to save the tires. We had plenty of guys losing it in the first and fifth corner in the last 2 laps.

I reckon what I'm asking is, for those already knowing they aren't "competing", is there anything of any value, virtual or otherwise, worth doing the GT Academy challenges for? A car? A track? A hat? An all expense paid weekend getaway to my basement?
