I've got a question for the GTAcademy "experts". Will there be anything awarded to those folks who complete the challenges but have no illusions regarding leaderboard placement?

I reckon what I'm asking is, for those already knowing they aren't "competing", is there anything of any value, virtual or otherwise, worth doing the GT Academy challenges for? A car? A track? A hat? An all expense paid weekend getaway to my basement?

Looks like you get Cr 300,000 for the Gold if you beat 2:11.000. Current leader board is at 2:05.272.

@dgaf95integra is ranked 51 at the moment and @Ricky Wilson at 50. They are about a second behind the world learder, but I'm sure they will improve.

Link tot the leaderboard is in my signature

Did somebody open an American account for Loyds ?

Thanks. For others perhaps it is, but, for me, credits are of no concern whatsoever.

For those of you on wireless or who needed to run a long ethernet cord to your ps3 and want to get rid of that without going wireless, check out powerline ethernet adapters. Essentially it sends the ethernet signal over your existing powerline, it'll even work between different circuits in your house (just not between different phases if your house has 2 phases of power coming in, most don't). I've used these in the past and they recently increased the speed from 500 Mbps to 1.2Gbps with this new series of adapters.

If you're interested here are a few options currently available
Netgear PLP2100
ZyXEL PLA5405KIT

If these are a bit expensive, the 500 Mbps version are cheaper and will still give good enough performance to your ps3 (over a long distance I was seeing link speeds of about 80 Mbps with latencies as good as running ethernet).

Also you can plug in more than just 2, and create a mesh network.

"3.4.Contestants who have previously attended the GT Academy Boot Camp at Silverstone Race Circuit in the United Kingdom are not eligible to enter."

How does that affect the motivation of our top SNAILs?

While I can't vouch for the ethernet over power devices as I've not used them or done any research on them, I can say, every house service has 2 "phases" or hot legs. Single phase distribution transformers are called that because the primary coil requires 1 hot leg. The secondary coil has 2. The power over ethernet might still work no matter which phase the device is connected to because, in a single phase transformer, the two secondary coils are connected in series, allowing the ethernet signal to pass from one phase to the other and back to another device.

I have no idea what you are talking about, but I found the hidden dragon inside......

Looks like I was mistaken, TP-Link says it can work, though it degrades throughput. http://www.tp-link.com/en/news-details-406.html

I'm tempted to make one named Let_Us_Back_In.

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - Ferrari 430 Scuderia '07 (Sports: Soft) at Cape Ring - Inside (13 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @cmbeal317 wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C5) '04 (Sports: Soft) at High Speed Ring / Reverse (10 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @GTP_Nobby gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @McTrucker so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated,so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more importantis that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, no car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting. Also, please be sure to list the PP and HP (after oil change) of any car you select.

Car Selection Guidelines
Dealership Cars - The maximum price for a selected car is now $1,000,000
DLC Cars - Only DLC cars that are FREE and currently still available in the PlayStation Store can be selected.

Track Selection Guidelines
Any non-DLC track can be selected as long as a single lap with the car combo'd with it would not take more than five minutes to complete. For example, don't select anything that includes the Nurburgring's Nordschleife.

Three Phase power is produced with 3 separate transformer coils, interconnected, and is a bit different than a single phase transformer. Not just that but, 3 phase power is very rarely used in residential distribution.

What it looks like to me from that diagram is they are using each coil of a transformer to maintain separate internal networks and using the switch or router to "bridge" them. It doesn't really matter. Ethernet over Power is similar to DSL in that the energy is transmitted on a different frequency than the base energy. For instance, AC power runs at 60Hz. The ethernet signal is in the megahertz range of frequencies on those same conductors. It's still limited by the metallic composition's, copper or aluminum, ability to shift electrons.

I'm still waiting for superconductors to be developed to a cost effective level and getting rid of every metal based conductor there is. Probably won't happen in my lifetime though. They've been working on it for over 20 years now.

There are a lot of SNAILS that do that every week .BUT what you do not realize is that they also race with us during the week . I love matic's orange mango room but for him Sinna or heat , they suffer really late hours and early mornings for practice . You have to give them a tip of the hat ,and thank you for just being there .:):):gtpflag:

Yall think this car setup us similar to the combo we drove on Sunday a few months ago? I remember the frustration over the understeer then. I wonder if I have any replays still saved....

I had problems some times, then I got one of these made it wired been good since. But sometimes you have to unplug it to get a good reset only done this twice I had for six months
