I went ahead and picked up the digital version mainly because I had money sitting in my PS account. It's downloading as we speak and I'm on my way out to work on my pool so it's ready for when it gets hot here. I'll mess around with the game later tonight.

is this a truck? or a VW Bug wanna be?

So I'm not knocking the choice, as I haven't driven it yet, but I have a question: did people actually pay real, honest to god, valid legal tender out of their pockets for this thing? It looks pretty horrendous.

Just got home with my copy. Thanks for the heads up on the metal case as the GameStop employee had no idea they were back there. I also asked them to find the pre-order posters (which they also knew nothing about), but it isn't all that great of a poster. I won't be able to fire it up until later tonight, but I'll be sure to add you then. I'll try to make do with the DS4 for now, but it seems apparent that Logitech support is coming soon. 👍

Anyone else who's got Project CARS on the PS4, please add me. My PSN ID is zer05ive

First thing I'm going to look for is a way to prohibit tuning!

Quickest tune is to let some air out of the tyres (....sorry.... TIRES....)

yes very popular in some circles...

I have yet to see anything about pCARS that motivates me to drop $700-$1000 on upgrades to play that game. If you've already got the gear, on whichever platform, good job. Have fun with it. I'll be lurking about.
It is very complicated, not anything like we're used to!
It is not a plug and play, each car requires you to set your wheel/configuration, unlike GT!, each car starts at default settings.

So, this is what the Combos look like. The heavy Chevywagen will most likely be 6 Race Laps, but the Datsun will either be 9 Race Laps (if average race lap times are more than 1:12.000) or 10 Race Laps (if average race lap times are less than 1:12.000). So we need some testing. The Re-noo Alpine worked well on 7 laps last week.

I would like to join and compete. Am I able to join?

@TechNoiR37

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!
Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add @CoachMK21, @Dragonwhisky, @JLBowler, @nmcp1 & @zer05ive as participants. The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing club. Sunday races are organized exclusively through the GT6 Community features within the game.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread. If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

Well, I'll be damned, that is surprising news. But the sales figures aren't too bad, 3 years in production, 24k made, almost all of them sold.

Just drove it a bit and the start of the race was hilarious.

Thanks! The lineup post has been updated. :)

For the Nissan Z GT500 Base Model '06
PP 598
HP 534
WT 1100 KG/FR
Tires RH
I have tested this on several great tracks and found one where it can stretch it's legs and still have plenty of room to race/pass.
To @Rednose58 and all of SNAIL, The track is! drum roll please!

"Mid-Field Raceway"
D5, mid division lap time after 5 laps= 1:10.401
Hope you all enjoy!!
I uploaded a video of my test run to YouTube and waiting for it to be processed and when it becomes available I will edit this post to add it.
and here it is, Please NOTE; how I respect my own Ghost!

@DesertPenguin09 here some of what you missed out on @ SPA

Thanks to all of SNAIL for all the positive feedback, and "may the shell be with you"!

It certainly was interesting. Difficult under high speed braking, lift-off oversteer, great drivetrain that regains traction so fast. Definitely a tough car to master.

do I need to start filing the pig for a PS4 / Project Cars? ,, for those Europeans and those that start to get it here in the Americas..

Amazon has very mixed reviews:
Yes, start filling the pig for PS4 at least! We all know that's what GT7 will be on. As for Project CARS, that's purely up to you. What I can tell you is from the hour or so I've put into the game tonight, is that I don't think it'll ever be a suitable platform for SNAIL [Spec] Racing. There simply isn't a way to prohibit tuning in any way that I can tell. That fact, plus the fact that there are far fewer cars just don't fit this particular series. Project CARS is more ideal for class-based racing (with tuning) that features a full season of races using the same car(s). Basically, it's the opposite of what our Sunday series is all about lol

Yeah I wouldn't drop that kind of money for the game either. I only got it because I already have a PS4 and all the hype said it was the first legit sim racing title available on it. And since it's already GT7's primary competition, curiosity got the best of me.
I hope Logitech support is on the way. Once there is confirmation, I'll be looking for a deal on a PS4. All this overtime at work should allow me to pull the trigger earlier than expected.
It's going to happen! Just a matter of when.. :banghead:

However, the best thing about Logitech support IMO is that it means GT7 will likely have Logitech support as well. 👍

Logitech support for GT7 would be in their best interests. Being the first GT on the new console, and having some stiff competition coming at them from even more angles now, it would be best for them to not lose customers before they even ship the title.
