Happy to see this track picked but it does throw up a question about race length. We'll have to wait to till later for a judgement to be made regarding mid division laptimes but just as a quick experiment I ran a 3 lap race on my own and the total time came in at 12mins and 7 seconds (4:05 opening lap followed by 2 x 4:01s). It was my 1st run with the combo so I'm sure there will be some improvement but as it is a fairly straightforward lap (ableit a long one) I would think the mid division laptime would be there or thereabouts.

A 2 lapper will come in just over the 8 minute mark so would it be possible to make an exception regarding the 12min max time to facilitate a 3 lap race?

@JLBowler

12 minutes is the cap and it's a hard cap when it comes to race length. There is no scheduling a race to be longer than that based on mid-division lap times. If it is significantly shorter than so be it. That is something those making the pick need to take into consideration when making their picks. If we were using a car that was a little faster then it's easily three laps.

I will tear myself away from PCars and force myself to fire up GT6 today and run a few laps to get a time. I'm running mid pack in D4 so it doesn't get much more mid-division than that.

Hoi @Engmatic1 , last but not least :sly:

@Rednose58

I just ran four three lap races. As expected, none of them came in unde 12 minutes. My best lap was 4:00.1xx. The average of laps 2 and 3 from all four races was 4:00.7xx.

Use this information however you see fit. I'm on my way back to PCars where the cars feel more like cars.

I guess GT is gonna bite the dust soon with PCars being received so well...

I haven't tried it for myself yet, but from what I have read, online for PCars is a bit of a mess. For now, I will get my online racing fix from GT6 and my offline racing in PCars. IMO, GT7 needs to get released this year and it needs to be everything PCars is from a physics standpoint. I'm not worried about GT7 looking great as they have always done eye candy well but the GT series needs to improve it's physics, tire model, and force feedback model if it wants to stay relevant.

SNAILS: Practice hard!! I would like to do 3 laps, but if you can't get under 4:00 minutes.....

Very true on what GT needs to do. What wheel do you have? Do you have one for PS3 and one for PS4?

I took the plunge on the T300 when I found it for $360ish, shipping and tax included, and use it on both systems. The difference in feedback between PCars and GT6 is like night and day just as the difference between the T300 and the G27 was on GT6. The T300 is a definite upgrade over the G27 if you're just talking about the wheel. I can't speak for the pedals as I bought an adapter to use my G27 pedals. I also don't use the H pattern shiffter so that's no great loss to me.

So you always/only use the paddle shifters or is there a sequential like the DFGT? That's what I have, so I'd have to use the pedals the T300 comes with. So many big purchases but I really need to save money so I can get my first apartment.

Since tonight is official practice night for Sunday and there is no racing on Sunday. I Was wondering if a few people could help Connerwolf and I to practice for the GTP 6hrs of Nurburgring tonight?

As the co-series director for the Wednesday SNAIL Race Car Series, I'm happy to congratulate @vovik05 for taking the series championship in the RCS this past season.

With the above comes the announcement that we are now accepting applications for new drivers to join the fun in both series. If your looking for something to do on Wednesdays, please check out the thread for the Wednesday Race Car Series and sign up in the thread. The next season starts on 5/27 and would love to have some quality SNAILS join the fun. Space is limited so if your interested, don't delay.

If you have any questions about either of these series, please let me know. Hope to see you on the track.

Regards, Grim and Zii

As previously mentioned, we are getting ready to kick off our 10th season next Wednesday 5/27/15. We will be racing the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X Rally Car at the below tracks

Circuito di Roma / Reverse - Week 1
Matterhorn Dristelen - Week 2
Grand Valley East / Reverse - Week 3
Tsukuba Circuit - Week 4

Online is indeed very limited in what you can do as a host compared to GT6. For the new pCARS series that we are working on, we are having to make some concessions in our plans to make it work and we will be starting off with basic settings (ie, no rain, days races only, no pit stops etc). This will allow is to get used to the basic aspects first and then introduce a new feature each season. With that being said, I can see both GT6 and pCARS coexisting for some time for these vary reasons until pcars makes some updates to the online lobby options which will take several months to implement.

That said, I completely agree that the physics and FFB is nothing I have experienced before.

There's no rush since Sunday is not an official race night.

Well, the selection was made. We coordinated a practice session to test drafting for red line down the straight and to get a picture that would go with the announcement.

Then I would thank @STEAMER62 and @DCschwinn for their help.

Then Prize C was chosen and my Plan A was dead in the water.

So no pictures for the choice (I'm away from home for a few days), but as my Prize A choice, we shall take the Lancia HF Integrale Rally Car '92 to the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza (80's version).

Car has 477 PP and 310 HP after oil change, so we shall run it with SM tyres.
Mid division times are unknown because there were no mid-division people there, but it will probably be 7 laps, based on our laps times minus a few seconds for better driving abilities.

What were the times exactly? @Rednose58 will need a time to at least make an estimation.
