So um... did we discontinue the TT's?

There will be news on the TT situation in the near future.

Edit:

Karts in GT6 are awful. Nothing like real life.

Granted they are similar

I have an excellent idea for Cat and Mouse, The cats are the tomahawk x and the go karts are the mice

Try to get those on the track on the same time. Odds of success are.... Unlikely.*

* the feature to put cars and karts on track together may be in the Course Creator. Please keep waiting for the delivery!

@DesertPenguin09
I wouldn't say nothing like real life, they're at least as close to real karts as the cars in GT6 are to real cars. I'd never driven fast karts when we went to the kart track in Nashville the day after GT Academy... but I beat all the finalists' lap times by driving it like I do in GT6. I also tend to beat people in karts who are normally faster than me on GT6... hmmm...

Agreed.

Comes down to fundamentals. I think there are many fast gamers that are fast because they've figured out how to take advantage of the "game physics". Game physics don't always work in real life. The guys that transition well to the real thing tend to understand the limits of computer physics and rely on racing fundamentals.

@Racer546324 I should clarify my opinion. Racing in the rain on Sunday's (as @JLBowler stated) will never happen as it would be a stewards nightmare with all the incidents that would happen. Not to mention trying to agree to how much weather would be appropriate would be difficult.
I for one can appreciate new ideas, so keep them coming. Just think about the consequences and weigh the pros and cons before posting on the main thread. Perhaps PMing a couple of members you respect and bouncing ideas off of them to avoid the avalanche of opinions here.
All that being said, creating a lobby during the week for some rain racing may bring in a few drivers looking for something different and fun. On occasion, when hosting a room I like to throw in a formula GT or NASCAR race just to mix it up. That also gets mixed reviews, but hey, yea never know until you try. You could stumble across a good combo idea.

Good luck and see you on track.

It wasn't me this time!!

It is odd that they aren't announced yet and we're going into Thursday but that's because IRs had to be reviewed. In our Division Convo @DMacs13 (DoublePass) said he was working on Prize A so we should hear that tomorrow.

On weather: SNAIL will never run a race with the weather on anything other than 0%. What's really cool is 25% weather with 0 weather change makes the track a bit foggy and cloudy skies but it never rains. Makes for some atmosphere down the straights but less bright for photos.

Who do I report to about the track & car combo???

Do the seasonal events to get a few starter cars. Then do the minimum number of events needed to move onto the next license level. You could probably get back online within a few hours of playing. Now if you need money, do the redbull standard car championship. Without bonus its about 1.25 Million credits every 20 minutes. To make it easy turn on skid force recovery and change your tires to racing soft (the ai will still use racing hards).

Oh and remember the goodwood events that give cars

Lap times 1:26-25's And I'm not sure about the PP

Now what do you mean about the tires??? Sorry for the lack of knowledge on the situation

What he said about tire regulations. Also, the large official post that shows the Sunday Results with votes and who wins what has a detailed description of how to announce a combo.

"Game physics don't always work in real life. The guys that transition well to the real thing tend to understand the limits of computer physics and rely on racing fundamentals."

Seems that I remember a NASCAR driver (prominent) saying he tried glancing off of a wall because it worked so well in a video game. Hmmmm caused damage etc - decided it wasn't such a good idea after all.
Please correct me if I am mis-remembering.

Hopefully the car is still enjoyable on RH. Sometimes a car that is great on SS becomes a handful on RH.

Yea true but I think it will still fun well see! I'm trying to get off work early now because I really want to see if it makes the car better or not lol

Unfortunately even if you think it's better on SS compared to RH it won't change. People felt this way about the Ford GT I believe. What I'm curious about is if you can change your combo pick or it's set in stone now no matter what.

Edit: I'm bringing my cat to the vet and then I"ll be on for a bit to practice.

I thought to common complaint for most cars and tire compounds was along the lines that RH made some cars too easy and predictable, and the same car on the less grippy SS tires was the harder challenge, but allowed drivers to step out, let the back slide a bit, play with racing lines and angles that were not generally accessible on RH.

That is opposite from becoming a handful.

I may be wrong, it has happened (many times) before. Generally, I thought folks described a car that was great on SS became boring on RH.

Personally I prefer more grip. Trust the car will be there for you and just get down to solid racing, like the Lexus SC430 GT500.
